Chapter 31 : The Snow-White Wolf

Images flashed before me. A snow-white wolf sprinted through the trees, golden eyes alive with a fiery passion. It blended seamlessly with the snow beyond the dense foliage of the forest. The only color that stood out was its eyes which sparkled like the sun.

It blew out hot breath with each stride it took as it ran across the land, tearing up the ground with mountainous claws. Even its teeth were bright and shining, saber-like in their quality.

What was most strange about this dream was that I saw all this not as a casual viewer but as the wolf itself, as if I were the beast. Even its thoughts became mine, the two of us blending together with a thrill I had not yet known.

It wasn’t until images of my own face flashed in the wolf’s mind that I realized it may not have been a dream after all. They were broken up and disjointed, so I couldn’t make out much detail other than profound love. But that love was connected with pain, unimaginable pain.
