C 70. Aging Due To Tension

The more I drink the more I wonder why the tea is not finished yet?

Gradually my clarity returned and I inspected the three people looking at me with an amazed expression.

"You did well." Director 9 said gently, she rubbed my chick with a smile, as if I'm a young girl.

It was now I registered that she was sitting beside me.

"I'm going to seal away that memory from your mind. I know it was a treasure trove of knowledge but hear me out.

What you witness is a forbidden knowledge that you are not supposed to know. They are in…"

"It was just the existence of Alien species in a distant Star system. And.." I wanted to retort but her gentle smile shut me off.

To me, I want to keep the knowledge of something as profound as this but something feels off.

"Don't panic, I will show you something."

A screen floated from one side of the room and stopped before me. Then it turns into a mirror.

It took me time to understand what I'm seeing. I look pale, and there are signs of wrinkles around my face.

It was like I was 40 years old. My heart is gripped with sadness. I looked at my hair and I found that it has become grey. 

Only a small part of it is still black.

I would have panicked but I found my emotions dull, as things around me were uninteresting.

"There is a reason why you become like this. And that is the reason I have to seal the memory. 

Your mind will be clear without that burden. And with time you will return to normal. 

This happens because scientifically people age faster in too much tension, also intense fear can cause that too. 

What you have witnessed is a lifetime of a certain history but sadly you saw it through emotion which means the burden that weighs on you is considerable.

It's not like watching a movie where you can only see the visual and hear the sound.

It's more like you lived it and felt what they felt.

Now, my girl, only if you are more mature enough can you handle this kind of burden, but not now!

And I will make it in a way you know what you have forgotten but only if you are ready will you recall."

"Okay."

I felt a veil over my head and then nothing.

"Finish your tea," She said.

I looked at Director 9, she used to be a Boogie Woman to me, but it seems when she wants she can be lovely.

But still, people in Sector 9 are said to be scary. 

I take my sip until the tea is finished. 

"They call it Soul Tea, right?" I asked.

"Haha. Yes, but its name is White Rha Essence Tea." Director 9 said with a chuckle.

"Rha? My heart skipped a beat, so they were able to harvest White Rha!"

My power increased and my control was to finesse after I bathed in the truest form of happiness.

Subject 3519 continues to be mysterious but for some reason, he is more open to discussions.

I learned a lot about him and his Eye Power, and also his development was one of the weirdest things the facility has seen.

Based on his report, his body grows in strength but this isn't his sole attribute, almost all ability wielders increase in strength the more they master their ability.

But along the line, the ability wielder's growth will show a new organ or an organ that mutates or behaves strangely that supports the person Ability.

If that does not happen, then there will be a trace of energy within the body that facilitates the ability.

But Subject 3519 is different. There is nothing that shows energy, or mutation in his physical body.

His eyes are the main concern but they are perfect eyes that you can find in anyone.

Nothing biologically makes them special, and his brain that interprets things is normal like everyone else.

No tumour, no mutation and no hidden energy within the brain.

I saw in the report that his eyes turn black after one of his dream sessions but that was also nothing but a hormone injected in him to act if he ever has a dream with scary elements.

It's to show the limit of fear he can withstand. If all the eyes turn black then he may have a brain disorder.

But through all the experiments it was always one eye turning black while the other will turn black later on.

Until they realise that his brain has put a safety switch, his fear threshold will keep increasing but whenever it reaches a boundary he will wake up by force.

And the last time when he couldn't wake up, the brain shut down, and the Mysterious Alter-ego woke up.

And now it was the Alter-ego we are dealing with. He seemed to be Subject 3519 but at the same time not him.

He on the other hand has all the memory of Subject 3519 and more. He also has more understanding of their Eye Power.

Even though the cases of Alter-egos are not new, nonetheless, subject 3519 is a special case as he behaves like a Clairvoyant.

He eats my food, and sometimes converse with me, but it was always about how I should be careful with Emotions as they are very dangerous.

He claimed that I and my brother were treading a dangerous path that he himself pitied us.

We kind of hold the key to true human nature. And that Human Nature may lead to World Destruction.

But I always say, "May God have mercy on us."

He will always have a smile, a smile of pity and melancholy and then replied, "God's mercy? We need to seek it."

Don't know if he is an Atheist because religious info was not on the list but it felt like what he believes was if only humans can stand will there be salvation!

It confuses me too, as a Christian I know it's only if we stand and seek Salvation will it ever come.

Deep within me, a dread is building up as if the end is coming.

Director Khan and the rest of the Doctors knows something, but we little workers are ignorant of it!

It's just that I don't have proof of that.
