C 52. To Ruin My Research!

"Thank you for your consideration, but I will require for you to be here in person, to take your own record for reference."

"No need for that, the three of you is enough. Also, there are the Sun's Eyes that I can get all that transpired here, okay!

Now, let Director 9 and her Subject go. I assure you that when we return there will be a board meeting to address this matter."

There was silence, then Dr khan sighed.

"I think it's alright, they can have the room until you are back. The room is equipped with all they needed for weeks after all!"

"Dr Khan, I told you I'm not on the planet. And I didn't know when all this would end. Heed my orders and let them go.

That girl, Amina, is unstable and from the record, no one knows what she has experienced from that Plane.

And you above all know we don't want her losing control."

"I think Director Benjamin is right. 9 can hold her for some time but not to the extent of controlling her totally, she is as bizarre as one can be.

Judging from what we witness, it's not advisable for them to be kept in this room."

"Hmm" Dr Khan sneered, and pressed some things on his watch, and the room closed.

"Dr Khan this is an order, you know the danger behind this, our personnel are on Saturn, they can't help with an accident."

"Get your fucking bloody ass back here in person, or they can wait till whenever you are back!" Dr Khan said, staring back at the Director.

There is no fear or anything, it's just him stating his mind.

Whistle!!!

No one looked at Dr Sam when he did that, with a smirk on his face, evident of expecting a spectacular show.

Director Benjamin shook his head ruefully and disappeared. A minute later or is it some seconds, a Pod similar to a tube blasted in place.

The surroundings crack before they start mending back to normal.

The door of the pod slid open and Director Benjamin walked out holding the same kind of white ball the other Doctors held earlier.

The door of the room opened and he entered. He threw the ball and it flashed with light.

He picked it up and glared at Dr Khan before he went back to the pod and the pod blasted away and disappeared.

Even after director Benjamin left, the door of the room did not open. I thought maybe they need it to come out but I realize that is not the case.

I walked directly behind Dr Sam as we followed the Psychiatrist and Dr khan. The former seems to be complaining about Dr Khan insubordination.

But as if he was talking to the air, Dr khan did not entertain him. We turned some corners and followed some corridors before we reached a relatively big garden.

We were at an elevated position where we gazed at the garden. A complete glass window separates us from it.

In fact, we are about ten meters above the garden ground, as if the place was made to observe whatever was down there.

Balarabe was down there lying on his back at the centre of the garden. His eyes were closed and his face lacked any expression as if asleep.

Then he took a deep breath with a creepy smile. He seems to be muttering something but from where I stand I can't hear anything.

"Do you think his mind has broken?" Dr Sam asked.

"No, but we should not expect him to behave as Balarabe from now on. From my understanding, we might be dealing with an Alter-ego!"

"A bad thing or a good thing?"

"It depends, since he is not technically physically destructive then it's fine but we will have to tread with caution."

"He is fine, his natural defence system is at work now. His true consciousness is asleep while his instinct and partial mind is working, this is to make him have less damage when he wakes up." Dr khan explained.

"Okay, it's good then. I tried accessing Mary's information but it was blocked. Does anyone have her side of the story?" Dr Sam sighed.

"She has totally lost control. Her mind is almost extinguished. And that result was because of that little girl." Dr khan said.

"I thought she saved her? Isn't that what she said."

"That is the difference between a knowledgeable person with experience and one that has ability but lacks experience.

A green soldier with zero experience will become a liability to a veteran even if he has a terrifying ability.

Why? Because he can't judge his actions correctly and with that, he may end up causing more problems than helping."

Dr khan sighed after a long unnecessary explanation before he continued.

"Mary doesn't remember all her experiences in the dream and that gives her mind time to heal whenever she is awake.

But now unfortunately Amina intervention bridges the two minds together, her brain now is experiencing the full brunt of all her experiences of that Dark Plane.

And that causes her fragile mind, consciousness, and will to break. She doesn't have a Balarabe safety mechanism."

"Dark Plane, is it different from the rest?"

"Maybe. But I think it's more likely."

"Realm of mystery is hard to deal with, Dr khan. I think your subject belongs to sector 9."

"Yeah, I know, but I have signed a contract with him as my personal subject. Any arrangement has to come after I finish my own.

I refused to believe this was an accident but an orchestrated event meant to ruin my research.

And the facility will bleed or even the organisation as a whole if I do not get what I want from this situation."

"I think you are taking it too far, Dr Khan. There might be a rivalry but it should not to this extent.

Your work is one of the pillars that the whole organisation is proud of and depends on." This time it was the psychiatrist that said it.

Dr khan looked at him and chuckled. "Can you say that to Dr Mwevru?"

"She is a special case, and it was not here when that happened to her."

"It doesn't matter, human nature can't be predicted all the time." Dr Khan said.

I just check and found that the end of this volume is nowhere close...

The more I type the more scene flashed in my head that needs a bit clarity and that makes thing take long.
