C 31. Nanoparticles

He said, the last sentence in a hushing noise, and deeply it crossed my mind. I went dazed for a second.

Never did I ever remember what I dreamt about. Maybe I was being hunted or tortured by aliens.

I always thought we were products of alien experiments, but my parents refuted me and said it was God who gave us another test.

"Is that the secret? It sounds underwhelming to me!" Actually, I did feel my resolve level up.

"The secret is…!" He pressed a tiny remote and something transparent enveloped us.

"Your prism is a growth type. You will grow slowly, and no one knows the limit."

Prism is the word that captured my attention.

"Prism?"

*Cough*

"I mean, you see colours when you look at Serena, right? That means you will develop better in seeing more colours, gradually."

"Okay, that's it. Some can't develop as you do. That's all," he pressed the remote again and looked around.

The thin layer dispersed.

Why is he acting suspiciously?

He urged me to follow him. And he started walking faster, I had to sprint to keep up.

He is fat and bigger than me, but with so much energy and stamina. In no time we reach our destination.

The same lady as before received us, but this time apart from the regular doctors that I saw all the time, there is a fat woman.

She looked different from them, and being in the facility I stared at her and when she looked at me, she smiled meaningfully.

She walked to me in a quick manner unbefitting of her size. "Hello, young man."

She grabbed my hand and shook, she also stared at my eyes, talking as if we had known each other for a long time.

"Ojoka, you are needed here," someone called the fat woman. She answers and walk away, saying we will talk later.

I'm amused because she looks different and friendly. People say fat people are friendly with anyone, and it seems to be right. In this facility where everyone has a serious expression and is doing their job, she is in stark contrast with them.

The same routine followed as they collected my blood. This time they even make my consciousness dive into the white space.

Well, it's inside the computer. They claim it's the latest technology they have with them, as in the near future there is a possibility where the whole mind of humans can be downloaded to the computer to achieve immortality.

The only obstruction to this is the concept of the human soul. But countless experiments are happening around the world to achieve success.

Games that one can dive into with Mind are being introduced to the world, and they are now popular.

Actually, I'm shocked to hear that, I've only been here for around seven months and yet the world has moved on with other great things.

My gaming hobby kicks in, thinking how amazing it will be to play games as if you are in the game.

As if the lady knew what I was thinking about, She said they have the gaming facility here, but it was only open for those that are at phase 3.

And for now, even if I'm in phase 3, they will not allow me to play it as it will interfere with their experiment. But soon, I might be able to access different games in the world while only lying on my bed.

I waited for a certain director of the facility to come. They said he was the one who is going to talk to me about my full cooperation regarding their experiment and me.

Looks like Benjamin's visit changed a lot of things. And from what I can glean there's a certain risk on what they want to do, thus they needed my full consent and cooperation.

I was taken to an office, and saw an Indian man sitting behind a white table. I sat opposite him. I strain my eye to see if there is a thin layer between us, but I saw nothing. From that, I concluded that the man has an ability.

That is what I learn, normal humans always have this layer that protects them, as for those with the ability they don't have the layer.

"How are you feeling?" He said.

I stared at him without saying anything before he chuckled and said, "My name is Khan Arfan, and I'm the director of Sector 7."

"As you may know that our entire experiments revolved around blood. We seek to unravel its secrets because it ties directly to the function of the whole body.

One of our experiments leads us to create nanoparticles that we hoped can live inside the body of humans as if they were part of it."

He stopped talking, observing my reaction before he continued, "We have the tech, but its function in the body is not satisfactory. In simple layman, the nanoparticles are smaller than red blood cells, and they are expected to multiply to smaller particles, small enough to enter human nucleus cells.

We want it that small, but we can't make it that small outside the body because the cell will repeal them."

"There are other reasons but the thing about them is that even as they are now, it only takes weeks before the body starts to behave strangely, and even if the body is normal the nanoparticles will start shutting down."

"Let me go, I will show you something."

We walked out of the office and went to a laboratory with a tag, BE5 (Blood Experiment 5). When we entered the lab, I saw that it was empty.

There is a giant sphere made of glass floating at the centre. Inside the glass is blood flowing through a complicated tube. When it reached the centre of all the tubes, it mixed with a colourless liquid.

At first, the blood will thicken, but it later gradually returns to normal. The tubes are similar to veins, and they were coiled around each other in a circular rectangular form.

"This is your blood that we collected through the period of months. As you see, it becomes thick when mixed with the White liquid, but later it returns to normal.
