ANSWERED PRAYERS
Congratulations Madame, you are expecting. I feel like my world was finally coming in place Mrs Richmond tells her husband. They both celebrate to the joyous news. Mrs Richmond secretly prays for a boy. She goes for an echography months later to know the sex of the baby, your son is in good shape the health specialist exclaims. On hearing the sex of the unborn child, she quickly rings her husband at work for she couldn't hold the good news. They make all necessary preparations, decorating the baby's room blue. They both decide on a name.
Cries of a baby can be heard; baby Miracle is home. it's been a week after his birth. Other than the new routine of sleepless nights due to cries, Mr Richmond and wife couldn't be any happier. At 2months, a baby shower was held at their residence thanking God for the miracle. Years passed and baby Miracle grew into a fine young boy; intelligent, inquisitive, and overall good looks. His parents couldn't be more proud.
Miracle! his mom called out. Mom I'm up already, in the bathroom, he answered. Happy 10th birthday, see how all grown up you are. Thanks mom. I hope my entire class will be at the party this afternoon, even though it's my first year in the secondary school, would really love to make more friends and letting them share in my day. Sure they will come, his dad replies entering his room, happy birthday son. Thanks Dad.
Miracle turns to his mom "mom, is they anything you would want me to help out with respect to my party? Oh! I did check out my dress last night again," they all laughed while heading to the kitchen to grab a bite.
2PM and most of the guests are present. Wow you have a lovely house most of his mates at school exclaimed. Happy birthday Miracle, their neighbour shouts out while handing him a parcel for his birthday. Thank you god father, you're all welcome.
The party commences with a welcome speech from Mr Richmond, wife and Miracle. He thanks everyone for honouring his invitation. Come close everyone, it's cake time. A birthday song is sang as he blows out his candles with his parents by his side all glad. On opening his eyes after making his secret wish, he sees a strange old woman standing at the back in the crowd looking right at him. Immediately, his mom follows his gaze and she couldn't believe her eyes for it was the same old woman she meant years back in her quest for a child, how did she find us, after all these years, what could she probably want? Mrs Richmond gazed with surprised on her face.
