Mr White Takes In A Student

"My safety?" Aiden stared at Ace blankly. He just entered the Gate of Magic, what happened for Ace to be concerned about his safety?

"Yeah... We are supposed to stay in the Myriad of Magic for less than 2 hours; after which the Gate of Magic would evict those who couldn't leave. However, it's been around three hours since you went in. How can I not be worried about you?" Ace asked.

"Oh? We are supposed to stay there for only two hours?" Aiden muttered in shock. He had thought that they could spend as much time as he wanted in the myriad of magic in order to awaken his power. Yet, it seemed like that assumption was not true at all.

If every person was allowed to spend as much time as they want in the myriad of magic, would there ever be non-mages? Or will the Magic Awakening exams ever end?

It was indeed naive of him to think that way.

"Uh.... Wait, don't tell me that you bad no idea!" Ace was just about to speak when his eyes suddenly widened in disbelief.

"Uh... " Aiden nodded. He had no idea about the time duration they were supposed to spend in the Myriad of Magic.

"What? Our teacher said it a couple of times during the last lesson how did you not hear it?" Ace muttered in disbelief.

"Uh... I forgot!" Aiden said in embarrassment. He had no idea about the time he was supposed to spend in the Myriad of magic but he couldn't tell Ace that so he decided to lie to him. After all, he couldn't go about telling Ace that he didn't know about the time and not only that; He had no idea about the various proceedings!

"Sigh... How can you forget something like that?" Ace sighed as he shook his head. He simply couldn't understand why Aiden would forget something as important as this.

"Anyway, can you tell me the power you awakened?" Ace suddenly asked.

"My power?" Aiden stared at Ace blankly.

"Yeah... Okay, I know that you wouldn't want to tell me so I will tell you mine first," Ace declared proudly as he patted his chest.

"What power did you awaken?" Aiden asked. He was also curious about which power Ace had awakened for him to be so confident.

"Hehe, I bet you would be surprised! Take a guess!" Ace said excitedly.

"Hmmm.... Space manipulation?" Aiden guessed.

"Space manipulation? What the hell is wrong with you? How can you take such a crazy guess? That is the third highest rated power to awaken! Only super talented people awaken that!" Ace rolled his eyes.

"...."

Hearing Ace's words, Aiden became speechless. You were the one who asked me to take a guess without giving me any hints. And after taking the guess, you think I am delusional?

"It isn't space manipulation! It is Water Manipulation!" Ace said with a proud look on his face.

"Water Manipulation? You awakened a good power!" Aiden couldn't help but exclaim. Water manipulation was an ability that ranked 5th in the Ability Rating. The Ability Rating was a standardized table of all the superpowers in the world. The higher the rank, the more rare and difficult it was to awaken that power.

Water manipulation was ranked 5th on this ranking over multiple elements. From this alone, one could tell how powerful water manipulation was. Aiden couldn't help but smile when he heard Ace had awakened that power.

"Uh... what about you?" Ace asked after a while.

"Mhm... me?" Aiden muttered under his breath. He simple had no idea about what power he awakened. He couldn't possibly say 'star power' as such power was never heard of. The ability to control stars.... That was simply inconceivable even for a fire mage!

"Em... I awakened.... "

"How are you feeling?"

Aiden was about to speak when a powerful voice interrupted their conversation.

Turning his head towards the source of the voice, Aiden saw a middle aged man walking towards them with slow but majestic strides.

"Mr White...." seeing Mr White, Aiden couldn't help but become nervous. The difference between them was that huge and Aiden couldn't drag his weight in front of him.

"Uh.... " Mr White nodded as he turned towards Ace and asked with a smile on his face.

"You said you awakened Water manipulation?"

"Yes!"

"Hmmm... I like your kindness and loyalty! What do you say about becoming my student?"

Mr White said after pondering for a while.

"What?!"

"What?!"

The moment those words came from Mr White's mouth, the stadium became silent all of a sudden.

Most students had seen Mr White walking towards the Ace. However, most didn't pay attention to it since they were busy talking about the powers they awakened. Yet, none of them thought of the fact that Mr White would ask Ace to be his student!

The next moment, all the students in the stadium burst into an uproar.

"What did I just hear?"

"Mr White is taking a student? Moreover, the person he chose is that guy?"

"Ever since Mr White came into this school he has never chosen a student before! How could he chose that guys? Is there something special about him?"

"I have no idea!"

It was common knowledge that Mr White was the strongest principal among all the other principals. This was also one of the main reason why their school server as the main location where the Magic Awakening Exams took place.

Yet, even after many years of being the principal of this school, Mr White has never —not even once— taken students as his own disciples or students. Due to this man people viewed as a huge honor and a lot of students have Ben racing in who the principle will take in first.

Yet, the principal decided to take in a random student, how will they not be confused? Even Aiden had his eyes widened in surprise as he looked at Ace.

"However, I have a small test I would want you to take!"

Just then Mr White spoke again.
