It was noonday when they arrived in Keniya. Where they arrived at was a large village near the Ndia ocean. The place was oddly quiet. The winds swept past them gently. The stench of blood filled the air. Most homes were already empty, devoid of humans. Ochieng' appeared in several homes within the village in a flash but was unable to find any living soul. The place was desolate.
"We came late."
Falling on his knees tearfully. Complicated emotions welled up inside him and he felt like falling apart.
"Master, the more you cry here, the more you give the Black Fiends an opportunity to kill even more people. We can head north, they have gone there." The giant advised.
Ochieng' nodded and stood up reluctantly. He then followed the giant who headed north. Actually, with all his powers as an Ordainer fully awakened, he could detect the presence of any Black Fiend within Keniya no matter where he was. He could also utilise his means to kill those Black Fiends without being where they were. It was due to him feeling sad that he left the giant lead the way.
It did not take too long before they were in a place that left Ochieng's eyes widened in shock. The place they were currently in was known to be a semi arid but was densely populated. At this moment, humans were running anyhow while wailing in fear. Behind most of them were humans with heads that resembled the hyenas that laughed every night in his home division. Some of those creatures were sitting on rocks, logs, the ground, et cetera gulping down different parts of human body; heart, legs, arms, lungs, crotches...
"High Priest, bring those creatures to me." Unable to take it anymore, Ochieng' ordered angrily.
"Yes master."
The High Priest nodded before lifting the golden staff which Ochieng' had returned to him. Closing his eyes, the priest mumbled some things beneath his breath and soon enough, all those Black Fiends were standing before them with heads lowered. The humans that were fleeing not long ago were left staring at the scene with mouths agape. Their pursuers had stopped abruptly before running towards those three people.
The Black Fiends were excited to see their priest here. They knew their victory was confirmed the moment he showed up. With the giant standing beside him, they couldn't be any happier. Much could not be said about the young man with the two. Those who were here had heard that a human would be captured and used to aid the people from the dark world. As they stood there respectfully, they saw a sword appear on the young man's right hand. Then a wicked smile appeared on his face.
"You have killed enough of my people, each one of you must pay." The young man bellowed coldly.
As soon as he was done, he charged at those creatures with a stern face. When they saw their priest and the giant going after the young man, they did not panic at all. After all, who could harm them in the presence of the priest. What they saw gave them the greatest shock of their lives. They did not believe their eyes even at their time of their deaths.
Ochieng' was slicing their throats as easily as eating and drinking. The priest was hitting them to death with the golden staff while the giant thrashed them with its massive palms. After about thirty minutes, the several hundreds Black Fiends were lying on the ground dead.
As soon as this was done, Ochieng' heaved a long sigh of relief. He had really made a good choice by not failing to cast a signal spell on his companions. Otherwise, he would have defeated the Black Fiends but saved none of those he was to save.
"Let's go."
Having dealt with this, Ochieng' and the two disappeared. This left the onlookers' jaws drop to the ground. Most of them had resigned to fate. Most of them were fast enough to flee from those creatures but almost none was capable of going too far at top speed, something that those creatures were perfect at. Fleeing was just an act of delaying the inevitable. They could not help but feel extremely happy at the sight of those dead Black Fiends.
After a long argument, it was decided that the dead Black Fiends would be burned to ashes while the dead humans would be buried with respect and honor as the laws of the lands dictated.
As for Ochieng', a tree was planted in his honour. The tree would later serve as a shrine there and it would be respected by everyone. It would even be a tourist attraction in later generations.
...
Ochieng' and the other two appeared in the dark world just from the point they had disappeared from. This time, the smile on the priest's face was long gone. He was leading the way respectfully, clearing the way for the young man behind him so that not a single tree branch would touch him. The giant who was walking behind the young man opened his arms a little as if trying to show anyone that whoever dared to put his hands on its master, it won't even blink before reducing that fool to meat paste.
They did not take long before they arrived at the top of the hill. Up there stood a tall building which resembled cathedrals. It had walls made of stones and steel windows. The roof could be barely seen due to its height. It's surrounding was quite different from the rest of the Crimson land for it was decorated with flowers and plants of different kinds and colours. The plants were planted in a beautiful pattern which accentuated the beauty of its surroundings.
"Master, this is where the six mistresses dwell. It is also where they communicate with the gods helping our Lord in his daily activities through an altar. This is one of the most sacred places in our world and no one from our world is allowed to enter it apart from a few leaders." The high priest filled Ochieng' with information regarding the building as soon as they stood before its massive door.
