When they hugged each other with Alexander's position still on Denia's body, their ears both caught suspicious sounds. Like footsteps, and the sound of screaming from several mouths.
The two of them looked at each other with eyes that symbolized the same anxiety and fear.
No one ordered, but the two of them rushed down from the table, dressed in their respective clothes in a hurry trying not to make any sound, and Alexander headed straight for the candle, blowing out the candle until it was dark inside the old post.
"Alex?" Denia said in a low and trembling voice.
"Shhh..!" Alexander walked over to the girl and hugged her to calm her down.
After all, Alexander knew what kind of fear Denia was feeling now. And he felt the same way too.
In the darkness, in one corner of the room adjacent to the entrance, Alexander crouched while hugging Denia. Now and then, he peeked through the gap in the worn window near his head.
