Organ Tempering and Internal Energy

The energy of nature is fickle, yet abundant.

Normally it is not a force you can see, smell or hear. Normally you can only feel when nature's energy is brushing against you.

When you feel like there's some kind of string or hair on your skin in your everyday life, but nothing is there, that is the energy of nature brushing against you.

All cultivators, immortals, and martial artists alike learn to bring that energy into their bodies and cultivate it into their own, controllable internal energy.

But that energy scraping against your skin isn't the purest energy within nature. It's merely the energy that is weak enough to be felt by our skin. But once you learn to feel the flow of which that impure energy goes, you will eventually find yourself breathing in the energy that does not follow that flow.

And it is that type of breathing that brought forth the origin of cultivation.

The long-lost technique of cultivation, the Clouds Origin Force. That is what I would be teaching Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong.

How I know this technique is because of the future of my previous life, in the year 4,287 CE, a body was found within a Buddhist temple. The body dead and had been dead for millennia, but the body still looked as if it died only a few hours ago.

Along with it, the paper containing the technique of Clouds Origin Force laid within that temple. And the only person in the world at the time who could decipher it was me, as the ancient tongue it was written it had been lost to everyone but me.

But I couldn't tell that to Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong, they would get overconfident with their abilities and not be able to achieve any enlightenments in the future.

"Sit, I will tell you two how to perform this cultivation technique."

The twins sat instantaneously in a lotus position and placed their hands on their knees.

"Good, now. Close your eyes and slow your breathing, focus on feeling the direction of which the energy of nature flows around you."

The twins slowly followed my instructions, they already knew how to find the flow of energy within nature, so this part was easy for them.

"Now find where that energy is flowing from, follow its path back to where it comes from and focus on that area when you find it."

Not all cultivation techniques need some fancy sutra or poem to learn how to use it, while those techniques that do are good cultivation techniques. They use poems or sutras to quickly embed themselves into the user.

But those are just extra ways of finding the energy of nature. The Clouds Origin Force is a technique that is controllable, you can always find the source of energy within nature if you have the Cloud Origin Force, so it can be combined with every other cultivation technique within the world.

A moment later, the concentrated expression on Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong's faces relaxed and their breathing steadied. The energy of nature is relaxing, so even finding it once will teach you to find it anywhere you want.

But now that the two of them have begun using the Clouds Origin Force by themselves, it's about time I got to work.

I sat down in the lotus position and began using the Clouds Origin Force myself, but with a different purpose than forming a dantian. I brought in the pure qi of nature into my body and filtered it into my lungs. Filling each and every cell with the purest qi I could gather.

And soon the change occurred, every cell that formed my lungs began to assimilate with the pure qi. Shaking my lungs as I continued to breathe in more pure qi.

My shaking lungs rocked against my heart and ribs; the pain was far worse than anything I could ever describe. But I had to endure, if I didn't, my lungs would collapse, and I would die.

Several moments of agonizing pain would pass, with my shaking lungs only moving more as more pure qi was brought into them.

When the amount of pain began to arise, every muscle in my body tensed up, despite how hard I tried to keep them relaxed.

I had no time to think about how my grunts or groans of agony affected Pyo Kang or Pyo Yong, as this was the moment I was waiting for. I stopped my breathing and slowly moved the pure qi out of the cells that made up my lungs.

The shaking slowed and the pain subsided, and soon my lungs slowly morphed, every cell that made up my lungs began to grow. The pure qi of nature was absorbed by my lungs and developed a change in growth within them. Clearing both lungs of any impurities within them.

I would open my eyes a moment later after letting every bit of qi out of my lungs. My eyes were strained and nearly bloodshot, showing the extent of pain I had gone through.

Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong looked at me in fear and confusion. A man who had been training alongside them and was known to be stronger than them, had randomly began grunting as if he was at death's door.

Sweat dripped off my body and a sticky black liquid trickled out of my mouth.

Pyo Kang would break the silence between us three a moment later.

"Ryu Il, what was that?"

I was staring blankly at the ground while trying to catch my breath when he asked the question. I slowly turned my head toward him and his brother and spoke with a raspy voice between breaths.

"... That... was called... Organ... Tempering..."

Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong looked at each other in confusion, they had never heard of such a thing, not once had such a thing as Organ Tempering appeared in their lives within Jianghu.

Pyo Kang turned his head back to me and spoke, "Ryu Il, what exactly is Organ Tempering?"

I waited a moment before responding to catch my breath, "Pyo Kang, Organ Tempering is the art of reconstructing your organs to make them more in tune with internal energy. It also prevents internal injuries up to a certain degree once the entire process is complete."

"Why are we not going through Organ Tempering then?" Pyo Yong chimed in with a hint of jealousy in his voice.

"Because I'm on a different path than you two. The path I am on is not for those who might misuse its power. That, and it is too late for you two to try and join the path I am on.

But soon the consequences would occur.

No matter how much one trains their body and mind to endure pain, there will always be a limit to how much they can endure. And the complete reformation of my lungs was my limit.

Thump!

My body fell to the ground as my mind fell into the depths of sleep to deal with the pain I had gone through.
