Uncontrollable

As she stopped to catch her breath, she looked back at the fire her uncontrollable power had caused. In the distance, she could hear the sirens getting closer as they raced to put out the flames, and stop the damage from spreading further. Collapsing to the ground, she felt a hand on her arm and then someone helping her to her feet.

It was Jhope.

When had he gotten there? Though, honestly, she couldn't remember much of what had happened before the moment she felt her powers surging out of her.

"I've been with you the whole time, don't you remember? We came outside, and spoke about being the last two people with elemental powers?"

His eyes softened when her silence stretched on and he saw how shaken she was. Sighing, he waved his hand and rain began to pour down, putting out the fire as it did so.

"Let's get you back inside, and then we can talk more." He kept a hand on her arm, and the other around her waist as he walked back with her to the flat.

"Everything will be fine."

"Has anything like this happened before?"

He set a mug of tea on the table, and joined Thea on the sofa, who was curled up with the fluffiest blanket they could find.

"And don't worry about the guys barging in, they've both gone to the studio, so we won't be interrupted." He reassured her.

Thea grabbed the mug of tea and blew on it lightly, then took a sip before answering him. "It's happened a lot more recently. Before I was able to control it somewhat, and then I started feeling pressure to keep this all secret, and it's made my power harder to control."

"I see. Don't you have anyone you can speak to about it, like your mum?"

"She lives far from here, and we can't always talk on the phone, so I'm pretty much alone."

She stared down at her hands, that still clasped the mug, and her eyes widened when his hand enclasped hers.

Lifting her head, she met eyes with his own sympathetic ones.

"Well, you're not alone now." Jhope beamed his sunny smile at her, "now we're in this together, and you can talk to me anytime. So don't bottle it all up, ok?"

"Ok." She smiled at him for the first time since they met, and some of the pressure was lifted from her chest, allowing her to breath a little easier.
