Her Goal

NOWEL

''Let me in,'' I commanded, and they opened the door wide for me to enter. The look on my face was not inviting at all. I am not even planning on smiling at anyone today.

I stepped inside and I felt like a sinner who wanted to talk with a she-devil. She is the she-devil.

I saw dresses of all colors and styles on her bed and accompanied by jewelry of all kinds from gold to silver and diamond. Jewelry I didn't even know they existed. This is not going to be an ordinary wedding for a royal consort.

''Oh, Your Highness, you came to see me? Which dress do you think is best for the ceremony?''

Your death dress.

I glared at how good she was at playing innocent. She deserves an award for being the fakest and the sweetest liar on earth.

''I can't believe that you are this shameless,'' I began my judgment. The smile on her face disappeared. I guess you were not expecting your unrighteousness to be detected,'' You dare sleep with my husband and the king of this country behind my back! How dare you?''

She chuckled. I blinked because I wasn't expecting her to smile after I had exposed and found out about her wicked deeds. Her arms folded across her chest. As if daring me and asking me what am I going to do to her because of that.

''Do you prefer I ask for your permission to sleep with him?''

My eyes widened in sheer disbelief as the color drained from my face. My mouth fell agape, forming a perfect O of astonishment.

''So...you admit that you are not innocent?''

My palms were itching with the desire to remold that beautiful face of hers with my fingernails.

''Only a fool like you would believe that I am innocent.''

That's it. I raised my hands to assault that face of hers but gasped as she held it mid-air with a knowing smile.

''You should even be thanking me that I agreed to settle for royal consort and not trying to hit me,'' She pulled my hands down forcing a startled gasp on my lips. ''I am not the type to settle for less.''

My eyes were clouded with different emotions and my heart couldn't fathom this level of betrayal. I was hurt. Where did all this come from? And who is this witch before me?

She dusted the hand she used to hold mine mid-air with disgust. I was...disturbed by that single action. ''I am done playing nice to you people now that I am a step closer to my goal.''

Goal...

What goal?

''Your pathetic demon lover is so easy to convince. I have him in the palm of my hands now.'' She smiled a sinister one. ''After what happened between me and your demon lover last night, I have never felt so accomplished before in my entire life. It's such a shame we had to have fun right in front of Her Highness.'' She mocked, as I had my eyes move around indicating a sense of being overwhelmed.

''Now listen, I am not to be messed with Princess. I am sure you don't want to be having nightmares about me, do you?"

My face remained blank and lifeless as I was unable to process her words. My tongue tied down to the floor of my mouth.

She took two dangerous steps to eat the distance between us. ''I am going to get married to that pitiful little demonic freak of yours and there is nothing you can do about it.''

I swallowed. Painfully.

''Don't be foolish enough to try to fight me Nowel. I might be pretty dangerous.'' She threatened.

I might be pretty dangerous. These words snapped me out of my puzzled state. Causing me to be even more angry about the situation.

''Are you trying to threaten me? For god sake, it is obvious that you don't love him! Who are you and why are you doing this?''

She laughed. ''Love him? Ew, that is so disgusting to my kind. I am not like you to fall for a demon. God, I wish myself no harm, darling.''

I clenched my fist sideways as I tried to cool down. Yes, violence is not always the answer to everything.

''Then why are you after him? Why are you after what is already mine? If you don't even desire something and you find it repulsing, then why are you even anywhere near him?''

She smiled, again.

''Possessive, aren't you? he doesn't even give a penny about you...then why are you biting my neck because of that frea-''

''The next time you call him a freak again, I will not hesitate to cut your tongue out and feed it to the dragons.''

She laughed so loud that my ear drums were on fire. ''Trust me, darling, dragons are not interested in tongues that have--''

''You did something to him that night! Michael that I know is not like that.''

''Then, what is he like? Please educate me on what demonic oddities of nature are like.'' She challenged causing me to swallow hard. I am about to lose it. If she doesn't stop behaving like this...then, I might teach her a lesson on how to.

She cracked up again at my inability to bury her sarcasm with a reasonable answer.

''Look, darling, I am not your enemy or your friend. I am just here to take care of something. And when I'm done with that, you are going to be grateful to me for life.'' She moved closer, ''Dear Princess, you have derailed and accommodated an element of darkness into your world. And it has corrupted you, with or without knowing it. I am here to set you on the right path. Trust me, You. do. not. love a demon and it can't love you back. You are just under this influence and have fallen into a great temptation.

I mean no harm.''

I can't believe I have earned myself a female version of the white wizard.

''If you ever want me to believe that you mean no harm...then stay far away from my Gorgeous. He is not the freak here...You all are the freaks I know! And I want you away from us as much as possible,''

Her eyes darkened at my resistance. She was...furious.

''I don't care the hell about who you are or why you are all so obsessed with my demon, but I want you all to stay away from him. If I find out that you hurt even a single hair on his head. . . then you would have to answer to me.''

I eyed her one last time before I excused myself from her room. God! Why are they everywhere?
