"The Ladder of Women"°•○●

The small town was too old-fashioned even for people with simple tastes. Just a few houses and a small playground in the middle where people meet and spend time.

A chirpy and happy place should come to mind unlike when you look at this tiny and filthy playground. But this park was the oldest and the most misused place in the town. Empty bottles and cigarette butts were all over to form small mountains.

"You say you are a social person, but all you do is smoke and work. All you eat is the cheapest of convenience foods. I think it's nonsense! Do you even have a friend?"

"I have you old man. Isn't it enough.."

"Even I can't stand myself sometimes. So you should find real friends."

It was nighttime. Two people sat on the castle-like ground that formed the top of the slides in the park. They were looking at the sky or horizon for most of the time. It was both relaxation and their job. One was around sixty years old, while the other was very young compared to the historical artifact next to him. He was twenty-five at most.

"Well, there is no need to spend money or social activities to live a good life."

The old man smiled with the jingling sound after tossing the empty beer bottle to his back. He believed that sometimes he was drinking beer here just to make that noise. This sound had a very satisfying side.

"Hey little jerk. Ever since you came to this town - and I still don't know how you did it - you just ate, crapped, and oh and smoked! Don't talk nonsense with your good life bullshit."

The old man pulled the knife from his waist and took out a piece of wood from his small bag that he always carried with him.

"For example, I make toys carved from wood, like the cowboys in the old movies I watched as a kid. Some even have some functions. You can move their body parts, look."

"We know old man- because you showed everybody in the whole town a thousand times. So... Must really people spend time with something physical? What I mean is I've been mentally busy for the three months that I've been here. I've read so many books in my old world, and I watched tons of movies. Now I'm spending time creating scenarios that you couldn't imagine. It's both safe and free to imagine like this. I don't have money to buy a cheap and ugly slave or weird gadgets for now. "

"I've listened this many times already and I still find it ridiculous. Also ..."

The old man distorted the wood badly in his own way and threw it behind him. He looked angry for a sec before taking out a fresh one. Sometimes he had trouble focusing while speaking. But in between his work, he turned to the young man next to him and finished his sentence.

"... tell me more about that place. I mean your world."

The young man withdrew his lowered legs and leaned his back against the plastic board. He got into that uncomfortable position where he slept countless times and took out a new cigarette from the pack in his pocket. He showed a tiny half-smile when he could light his cigarette in one go before his match went out. Match packs were expensive here.

"Okay, then. I will tell you where I come from and my life in it."

..

"I was born in a city known as Muğla. It is in a strange country where something is bound to happen even if nothing happens. The name of my country is Tur..

I was the only child of two normal parents and was born on a regular Wednesday, September 20, 1997. It was really hot and my mom said that it was around five o'clock.

I was born in a huge and clean healthcare-building that we call "hospital", which you don't have here.

My mother, father and I lived a quiet life. I learned from my mother to love books and reading. I also got the cooking good from my father. But this calm life lasted until my little brother was born after twelve years. He wasn't planned and we were shocked. Then there was chaos, as in every home with two children.

But I think I had a good life. I was normal and happy.

I used to eat fresh food every morning for breakfast. We ate too many vegetables that you couldn't even count - fresh chicken eggs that you still don't believe, bread and vegetables that we can find in the markets, or common bazaars. I was very fortunate in these matters as our area was a green region where every kind of edible plant could be found. There are good markets where you can buy a thousand kinds of food products in their freshest and cheapest form every day of the week.

"But why aren't there robots, radiation, or mutant animals in your planet?"

The old man quickly paused the dreams of the young man and asked again what he has been curious about for months. Actually the whole town was always asking the same question to this young man.

"I don't know. But if I have to guess, then people on this planet have done things worse than us. Our histories are so different, technological differences and human values are also very different."

"I still can't believe that seven billion people could coexist without extinction. This number is ridiculous. If things repeat in your world, aah at least one of the shits that happened to us, like a zombie-epidemy, your planet will be fucked so badly."

Eren, ignoring the doomsday scenarios of the old man, smoked a new cigarette and told him about his old life. How he was a normal college student and living in a low-tech but modern world compared to here.

Eren was indeed a normal teenager. He was not successful in college, but he was an apprentice story writer who had a little bit success on the Internet. For this reason, he had the right to go abroad after became closer with his teachers at the school. (He may have tricked his teachers a little bit about his success in online. But white lies didn't seem bad to go abroad)

He was going to student education programs for one semester somewhere good in Europe and have an abroad experience. He wanted to be a writer and this job didn't have an education in his country. During this half-year opportunity, he wanted to take a good education and return afterward. He could also have some fun and broaden his horizons.

He had turned off her mother's worried phone and went into the toilet before handing his suitcase at the airport check-in. There was still a long line and he didn't want to wait in vain.

He had the suitcase he put in front of his door because he was afraid of thieves, and carried his thick backpack that he hung on the backside of the door. He had bought a quality travel bag to be prepaired when he was going to try interrail-tours all around Europe. On a train these bags were better than big suitcases. And it was still small to use in daily life.

Life was going well for Eren. His social skills were zero, but his destination was Europe. So, he would make friends there somehow, right? He knew that European people, especially young people in England, were very warm. In England, people were drinking tea as in their own country.

He was also a tea addict like the rest of his country. They don't put milk to their tea but he could adapt and try that as well. You should do the romans do in Rome right? Was that the right way to say this sentence. He didn't know and didn't care. He was excited for this semester.

..

While Eren was thinking about this nonsense, he lowered his pants and sat on the toilet. Blinking for a moment, he closed his eyes ...

... and when he opened it, he fell onto sandy soil onto his ass.

He felt a strange relief when he saw the suitcase in front of him and the backpack falling beside him. It was such a momentary change of vision that his heart was beating as if it had been some kind of *cam-scare moment while watching a horror movie. It wasn't a beautiful or exciting moment.

It felt like shit.

He didn't understand what was happening for a few seconds until his heart slowed down and his head starting to work again. The only thing that he clung to and allowed him to calm down quickly was that he was with the suitcase her mother had personally prepared.

Then he saw something that could only be seen in a movie. It was so ridiculous and incredible that Eren even wondered if he was dreaming in the toilet.

"Hey, leave the left side to me!"

He saw a middle-aged woman with wavy hair in near-white colors giving a simple command.

She shouted to other people on a large wall that Eren had seen just a little from this lower angle.

..and she jumped towards the empty air!

This woman, who did not fall from the wall of at least ten, maybe fifteen meters, threw the explosives she carried in her hands towards a crowd that Eren couldn't see clearly. The important part is she was still hanging in the air like this wasn't the most absurd thing in the world.

Between the bomb noises that exploded the moment they hit the ground, blood and strange disgusting screams were heard. Eren became even more stupid with those disturbing and horrific screams. He was sitting outside the wall with his trousers down when the group was bombed by a flying woman.

But he couldn't stand up with curiosity, nor could he make it work his anxious head and improvise something.

No.

He was frozen!

Like any normal modern person who would stay in such situations, he was also frozen. He couldn't do any heroic or clever move. All the books he read and all the movies that he watched were false.

He was just completely frozen.

He didn't even know that, he was teleported to a different planet from an airport toilet!

...

This will be the beginning of a weird and fantastic saga.

Have a nice day and a nive life.

You only live once! Mostly ;)
