A Step Towards Our Futures As Adventurers

We walked up the stairs following the guild-master and we entered a large room that had the deck manager from before. He walked behind his desk and sat in his chair and then started to smoke a large cigar. He took a puff and then he spoke.

"From what my manager here tells me is that you have beaten the goblin king and the dungeon he was in.. Is this true?"

"Yes it is true. We killed the goblin king and if you want to see the proof I can bring out the head"

"That won't be necessary, my manager has already seen it, but I would like to talk business with you and your group. I would like to offer you 200 gold for the goblin king and would like to see your adventurer cards".

200 gold was good so we accepted it. With this much money we will be able to buy a house and have somewhere that we can live. We then responded to his earlier statement.

"About that. Only Maria has an adventurer card. We just happened to stumble into the dungeon while walking by" Mia said.

"Wait… you mean to tell me that the three of you went into the dungeon with no training prior or registering at a guild and you were able to, from what I heard, butcher the goblin king" the guild-master exclaimed after another puff from his cigar.

"Yes we actually came to this guild to redeem the bounty and also register as adventurers"

"I don't know how you were able to beat the goblin king and the dungeon but we can talk about that later but for now I have an offer for you.. I would like you to join this guild and take the entrance test and when you join we will give you 30% on every bounty that you take and we will pay for you to go to a training camp"

"Alright but can you make sure to give us credit as well as Maria credit for the clearing of the goblin king because we are the ones to do it"

"We will give you the credit after you guys register as adventurers and take the exam but we will give you your reward now as a incentive"

"All right we'll take the entrance test but first we want to take the training camp to compare ourselves to other adventurers"

"That is fine but you will probably be in a class of your own since it only took you four to take down the goblin king. The entrance test can be taken whenever you want, and the training camp will be this weekend" he said and then we shook hands and the meeting was over. We left the room and the guild-master watched as he smoked his cigar. As we walked out the door Maria asked

"Would you three like to go to my house and meet my family? We have lots of extra rooms"

"That would be great, thanks," Mia responded. And so our adventure led to Maria's house before we went to the training camp where I would see what this world had to offer in the power of the natives. We went out side where a carriage was waiting for us and we got in

"I mean Maria is royalty" I thought. The ride to the castle didn't take very long but we got to see lots of things from the town.

We saw bars, restaurants, shops for weapons and armor, schools, farms but nothing was as impressive as the hulking castle with giant stone walls with troops stationed at every turret. We entered through the gate where we were greeted by the faces of her parents and her sisters.

"Welcome to the Darkwood castle, I don't know you three but I assume you are guests if you are arriving with my daughter" the father said.

"These are the people who helped me clear a dungeon and who saved my life from the goblin king and the hobgoblins," Maria said. The father looked at his wife and then back at Maria in astonishment,

"Let's talk about this inside shall we". And so Mia, Hibana and I walked with Maria and her family into the castle where celebrations would occur and where we would spend the next two days in preparation for the entrance test and the training camp.
