Chapter 49- Abelion Forest

"Kazuki!" Sakura shouted as she ran to him tear eyed. She thought she was already done for but luckily, he was there to save them. she hugged him tight while crying so Kazuki could only hug her back. He signaled Coppelia and Maggie to help him so they approached the crying Sakura.

"I know it's scary but it's okay now" Maggie said as the patted Sakura's back. Coppelia on the other hand was with Afret healing the injured troops.

As Kazuki was checking their equipments, someone patted him in the back. When he turned around, he saw a man wearing armor with the Amulet family crest marked on it. He was the only one with that armor and he has a scar on his left eye. Judging by his figure, one could tell that he has many experiences in the battlefield.

He saw the curious look on Kazuki's face so he introduced himself.

"Good day sir Kazuki, I'm Tristram de Lyones the head Knight of the Amulet family. I would like to express my gratitude for saving us from the Ent" he said as he bowed his head to show that his thanking them wholeheartedly.

Kazuki was embarrassed seeing the other guards looking at them. This was their first time seeing the head Knight bow his head to someone other than his masters so seeing him bow his head to a boy was unexpected.

"Sir! All their equipments are ready and their carriages are fixed" Rhyle informed but he went closer to Kazuki and whispered, "I don't trust that man."

Kazuki doubted Rhyle's words but he raised his guard just to be sure. After all, he can't trust anyone except for those who has already proven their loyalty.

Kazuki and the rest continued their journey towards the heart of the forest where the Amulet mansion was located. Rumors has it that the heart of the forest was a glance filled with magic and beauty but the place surrounding it was filled with monsters. That's why they have been permitted by the royal family to control a small portion of the kingdom's troops making them the 3rd strongest Noble family after the king and Duke.

As they went deeper into the forest, monsters grew stronger. They even encountered a serpentine that took them about an hour to kill. Of course it wouldn't take a minute of Kazuki used his spells but he didn't want to stand out so he told the paladins to hold back.

After a few hours of walking, they saw a bright light from a distance. As they went nearer, Kazuki noticed that it was an [Beast Barrier] a 4th tier null spell that could withstand attacks of a A-class monster. He knew that the barrier was protecting the mansion but what piqued his curiosity is the source of magic power. A person can't hold magic power to hold the barrier for half a day. He also learned in Magic class in the academy that the longest time a person could maintain the beast barrier is only half a day.

He stepped forward to enter when he heard a loud voice.

"Sakura!!!" a young lady shouted.
