Chapter 6 - I'm Home

~ In the Townhall ~

It's been an hour since the discussion began, the atmosphere went intense. Residents have been debating about the current matter. Some people agreed and some disagreed. They were having a hard time deciding to adapt immediately.

??: "𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯!?! 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴, 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘮.

??: "𝘶𝘩𝘮....*raise his hands*....𝘷𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘧....𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘦𝘸....𝘰𝘯𝘦"

Before he could finish what he was going to say, suddenly the door blasted open and a man who was in a hurry ran towards his Village Chief and sooner, they began talking. As he was listening to the report, the village chief shook his head hearing an absurd report. He couldn't believe it, in just 1 day and they finished it already. Not only that, they were just only three of them. How were they able to rebuild it? he thought with a disturbed face as he furrow his forehead.

He was hesitant to believe the report and thought that the men he sent were crazy. The corners of his mouth turn up as his face was covered in amusement. But still, he hasn't believed it, so he decided to go to the river after announcing the report to them. He wants to confirm it both of his eyes looking at the dam. The looks of the villagers changed confused looking at the Village Chief, they again began mumbling. The Village Chief looked at the noisy crowd, he then stood up and said.

VC: "𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘴, 𝘪 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘪 𝘴𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘨𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘪𝘵"

After the discussion, they all went directly to the fields to confirm whether it was true or not based on the report that they heard. As soon as they got near to the farmland, they notice how organized and clean the surroundings were. They were astounded as they look the fields. The Village Chief and elders are starting to believe the report after they witness an odd circumstance.

VC: "𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴...."

??: "𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦? 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘴?"

After touring the area, they ask the two men who reported to them as to why all the plants are in different directions and where are the withered ones, but the two men didn't give an answer for they don't have any idea what it is and how it is processed. The Village Chief as well as the elders felt disappointed. They were expecting an explanation for the method. Curiosity and uncertainty filled their minds. After the circumstances, they proceed to the dam without an answer for their interest.

Freezing and staring with their wide eyes and eyebrows raised witnessing the unbelievable yet how strange, clean, and new the dam is, they were astonished. As soon as they saw the gravel, they intend to touch the weird gravel but as soon as before they could touch the gravel, the two men quickly stopped them. Saying that it's not fully yet hardened and the gravel will take days or weeks before it hardened. The woods and soil at the back are keeping the cement held for a moment. It was Karl's idea so that they were able to put gravel at ease with no hassle.

VC: "𝘸-𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘈𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘥, 𝘈𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯?"

AA: "𝘪𝘵...𝘸𝘢𝘴...𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘭....𝘴𝘪𝘳"

The village chief was surprised. Karl, a 10-year-old kid? come to think of it he is the son of Lord Albert from the Bürwagen City. How could be? how did he do it? isn't this impossible? how did he possess this kind of knowledge, he thought as he screwed his face. The Village Chief's face was full of doubts and amazed, to think that they have a genius in his village, he giggles and said.

VC: "𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦, 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘦" *sighs*

VC: "𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘹𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯"

Afterward, the Village Chief talks to them, explaining it was all Karl who did rebuild the dam with his strange invention. The residents gawked at him, they have the same expression from the village chief earlier. As soon as they finished their reaction, one of the elders burst his laugh, and sooner, they all laughed so hard after hearing what the Village Chief said. They also said that is their Village Chief becoming crazy? one of the elders said. The Village Chief explain further, the more he explained, the elders went silent. The Village Chief was also mad at them after they insulted him earlier.

Then after the commotion. They finally agreed and they all decided to praise and award him handsomely. But, Adelaide and Aldin interrupted their conversation and said that they should include Marlene and Fritz since both of them were also helping Karl from rebuilding. The elders easily accepted the two, while the Village Chief glared at the elders. Compared to Karl and those two adults who were helping, their reaction is quite different, he thought.

Meanwhile, Karl was in a hurry on his way home after their work. He was worried that it was getting late and his mother might be worrying about him. He remembers what did her mother said, and he forgot to look out for his little sister. He went first to the center if his little sister was still there, but after arriving there was no one. After searching for her little sister around at the Townhall, he sat on the ground putting both of his hands to his head, and he said to himself.

K: "𝘺𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢 𝘪'𝘮 𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘥"

Afterward, Karl immediately went on his way home walking. After he arrived at his house and opened the door, there he saw his mother standing waiting for him while holding a long wood, she was mad looking at him. Karl thought that was he going to be punished so he close his eyes. But, he heard sobbing, he slowly opens his eyes again and saw his mother's face filled with tears on her eyes and cheeks, she was crying.

Helene suddenly hugged her son tightly like she doesn't want him to let go. Helene cried continuously as she was hugging her son. Karl move his right hand and pat his mother's back as his left hand was wrapped at the back of her mother's nape. Karl's eyes began to wet, tears formed at his eyes as he starts to sobs and he said.

K: "𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢, 𝘪'𝘮 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦"

After Helene calmed herself, she was glad that his son was back home in one piece and uninjured except for the bruise of his hands, when she saw it, she replied.

H: "𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬"

After the reunion, sooner they proceed inside the house after that. Karl was about to tell her mother that he forgot to find his sister. As soon as when he was about to say something, Karl was startled the moment his little sister suddenly pops out in the kitchen, she greeted him and she said.

V: "𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘢𝘺, 𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘢 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸"

K: "𝘪 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵, 𝘶𝘩...𝘦𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥...𝘶𝘩𝘮...𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱"

Karl was glad that his little sister was already at home. When his little sister ask where was him all day, he purposely lied to her. Karl was afraid that his mother might go crazy again over him if he told her what happened. What if she started to scold as she yells at him, and the worst part was getting hit his butt with that long wooden paddle, he thought. After all, she just finished crying.

V: "𝘩𝘮𝘮 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘰?" *Vivianne replied suspiciously*

K: "𝘺-𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘩𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺"

After talking for a while, they both sat at the table and then start eating after their mother handed them the food. Karl felt good as he eat the food that her mother cooked, it was delicious. As expected of my mother, Karl thought while enjoying the food he ate. While they were eating, her mother suddenly remember that she was holding the paddle earlier. Her mind was full of plans for Karl to be punished. She stood up from her chair and said.

H: "𝘩𝘮𝘮 𝘪 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘩𝘮𝘮 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴.... 𝘢𝘩!! 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘩𝘦" *smirk*

K: "𝘮-𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢, 𝘪 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯, 𝘱-𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵"

Without saying something to him, Helene went upstairs to her room hurriedly. Karl was confused, is her mother angry? did he do anything that could make her upset? no, maybe not after coming back holding the paddle with her face covered with devilish smiles as she looks at him.

K: "𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢?" *gulp*

H: "𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨....𝘢𝘩? 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘵, 𝘪 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯" *laugh menacingly*

Their home went chaos while his sister keeps eating ignoring those two. She was delighted by the food that her mother cooked so she keep eating as she enjoy it.

The sun rose in a pool of crimson and gold, spilling light all over the land and the white clouds. Karl awoken peacefully as he opens the window in his room. Fresh air filled his lungs and he felt refreshed after inhaling it. He still remembers what her mother did to him last night, it was a nightmare, he thought as he quavers.

After awakening for a while, he immediately went downstairs to eat and decided to ask his mother that he will go to the mill. It took him a minute to please his mother as he keeps promising that he will be back early. At last, her mother finally agreed to his request. After receiving a permission, he went straight to the mill to check his pit.

While Karl was away, a sudden knock appeared out of their door. Helene quickly went to the door to open. There he saw two men standing, Adelheid and Aldin. Helene took them inside, and sooner they began talking about Karl. At first, Helene didn't believe it, but the longer they explain the more it got complicated for her. She was surprised at her son, how could her son accomplish such task? plus he didn't even tell him about what happened yesterday. Is her son hiding something from her? Helene thought as she wrinkle her brows in curiosity.

The two told her that they were appointed to bring Karl to the Townhall to award him. Helene replied that he went to the mill, the two again ask what Karl was doing in there. Helene didn't respond, she didn't even know it, her son only told her that he was going to the mill for no reason. After talking for a while, sooner both of them bid farewell and decided to go to the mill to look for Karl.

As soon as they reached the mill, they began searching inside for Karl but he was not there. When they heard a similar voice coming outside, they immediately went to follow the voice. As they were following, they notice holes and dirt everywhere. When they arrived at their destination, they saw Karl afar doing something that they couldn't tell. When they got closer, Karl was mixing as he use a shovel along with him, they quickly approach Karl and said.

AD: "𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘭!!"

AL: "𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦?"

Karl was busy mixing as he was singing when he heard a loud familiar voice, he turns around. He saw Adelaide and Aldin waving at him, he replied as he shout at them.

K: "𝘰𝘩!! 𝘪𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘴, 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘦, 𝘪'𝘮 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴!!"

They approach Karl and sooner they began talking. Adelaide and Aldin ask Karl what was he doing with the shovel and the hole with so many wastes. Karl smirked and he introduce to them what was Compost Pit. As he was explaining, the two again were astonished by his strange idea, same from the crop rotating. However, they were disgusted the moment they heard "putting the waste onto the soil". Why would they put waste on the crops? surely it will affect the crops and it will only get worst.

Karl was confidently proclaimed that in a few months after mixing the homemade fertilizer, the harvest will be double. The three of them even bet their money. Later, they decided to help Karl so that he can finish it immediately before sunset. After they finished it, all of them went directly to the Townhall to meet the Village Chief and the elders.
