The reason why

Ariellas pov

Ace chuckled at my enthusiasm as I bit into another huge piece of my taco. "You know if I would've known how happy bringing you tacos made you, I would've done it a long time ago." Ace said with a small smirk.

I accidentally laughed alittle causing some to fall out of my mouth. Before I could freak out or be mortified he was grabbing the piece off my shirt and putting it in his mouth.

The smile he made had me almost chocking from me laughing from the situation. I had to try to stop laughing and eat my food. He started to pat my back like he was playing the drums and that just made it worse. I swatted his hand away before I died of choking due to laughter.

I put my head on the table and finally swallowed my food. "You almost killed me." I laughed as I lifted my head up to look at him.

"What I thought I was helping." He said with a huge chuckle. "If beating my back is helping definitely don't ever go in any field that involves healing." I laughed as I eyed him.

"Actually you never told me what type of God you were." I said as I went to take another bite of my taco. This was nice.

"What the hell." A furious voice snapped right before my taco was snatched. "Yea. What the hell, give that back." I screeched to a very angry Alax who was grinding my taco in his hand.

"First off no and secondly don't ever curse again." He snapped at me as he grabbed the plate of tacos and made them disappear.

"I was eating that. What is your problem? First Blake completely ignores me and than you do this. What the hell." I screamed as I jumped out my seat. I could curse all I wanted. He had no right to react this way.

"Do you and daddy feel threatened?" Ace wryly asked. Alaxs eyes turned a black that had me hitting the table behind us.

"Yea that's right. We all know what daddy and you did to poor old." Ace didn't get to finish because Alax grabbed him by the neck and wrapped his arm around his neck.

"What are you doing stop? He's my friend." I screamed as Ace started to sputter the more Alax squeezed tight. Why was he doing this?

A small poke had me pushing off the table I was leaning on. I couldn't really ponder about the splinter I just got because Ace looked like he was going to pass out. His hands tried to pry Alaxs arm from around his neck but it was like it was made of steel.

I screamed loud and searched frantically for anyone to help. Everyone was just watching but not acting. "Someone help." I screamed as I watched in horror as Alax used his arm to squeeze harder and harder.

"Alax stop. He just got me tacos. Please stop." I begged. I knew not to interfere because I didn't have powers but I could still beg. We were friends, he would listen to reason. He had to.

"You want me to stop after he drugged you twice. I warned you not to take anything from anyone but you don't listen. That's why you ended up knocked out for days." Alax snapped at me as he threw Aces semi limp body on the floor. Ace looked horrible but all I could think about was what Alax said.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I looked at Alax who was breathing hard and clenching his fists open and closed. He looked at me with anger and what looked like hate. I took a step back because it seemed like I no longer had friends.

"I mean what I said. He drugged you and Blake had to nurse you back to health. I warned you to never take anything from anyone, I told you not to trust anyone. But what do you do you didn't listen and he gave you something that had you sick and disoriented for days. You weren't sleep Ariella, you were sick. We were worried and angry." Alax yelled.

I paled alittle. He wouldn't drug me and hurt me right. "Even after I warned you, you still smoked with him. I warned you." Alax sounded hurt. I thought of the time he walked me to class and offered me something he had inhaled. He seemed disinterested with me after my refusal to hang out.

I looked down at Ace completely confused. Could he have hurt me? "I didn't do it." He said right when I started to feel light headed. It was like all life was knocked out of me and I needed to find a seat that I had no strength to find.

"I ummm." I tried but I stumbled forward. "BLAKE." Alax yelled right as he caught me. "Hey it's okay I got you." Alax whispered as he cradled me in his arms.

"Here open up." Blake said as he looked at me with soft eyes. I let the tears fall as fear consumed me. Blake gently opened up my mouth to pour something in it.

Hot liquid went down my throat on its own Accord. "You should be better now." Blake said as he wiped away my tears and moved my hair from in my face. He looked at me with complete gentleness and that had more tears falling.

"I didn't do this. They are framing me." Ace yelled. I felt to tired to react any more. All I could do was look at Blake who was rubbing the stream of tears that were falling down my face.

"What's going on here?" A voice I couldn't forget even if I wanted to asked. My eyes lazily looked up at King Alexander looking down at me.

"It seems Ace wasn't so smart and thought since you couldn't trial him the last two times that he could do whatever he wanted." Alax said to the high king. The high king bent down and rubbed my face with his palm.

I wanted more. I leaned into him with the little strength I had not caring how I looked. "Here I'll take her." He said to Alax who slowly handed my limp body over.

Whatever I was given had my body unresponsive but my mind completely functional. How could someone do this to me?

I sobbed into the high kings shirt. He felt so comfortable and I had no where else to cry. He pushed my eye lids closed and it was like exhaustion was there to meet me. I couldn't fight the sleep that was calling my name. As long as I was in the high kings arms I would be fine.
