Meng Tian was least bothered by his opponents and was only using them to level up his experiences and get new skills. Seeing that Meng Tian was taking longer time to finish each match, many thought that he would be tired soon enough. And so the remaining seven did not entertain any thoughts of backing down.
Everybody was of the opinion that Meng Tian was able to defeat his opponents primarily because of his superior movement skill. So, Yang Feng, the top speedster in his class, entered the ring. He used a sword and had immense confidence in defeating Meng Tian.
Meng Tian, however, simply picked a wooden spear to fight the sword. He just stood there again waiting for his opponent to make the first move. Yang Feng, known for his speed, moved his sword straight into a piercing stance right into Meng Tian's chest. Using the reach of the spear, Meng Tian blocked the sword from moving forward.
This continued for a couple of seconds and Yang Feng was unable to land a single blow, just like the others. Yang Feng and the audience could not believe what they saw. Meng Tian was faster than him and not just by a little.
Meng Tian defeated him easily and continued his matches with the remaining opponents. Not a single one was able to make him move from his position or even land a hit.

The entire audience in the gym were perplexed by the idea of him using different weapons and just defending for sometime before giving a final crushing blow. The process was always the same and the match always ended with the opponent fainting.
After six matches, Meng Tian was done with leveling up all of his current weapon experiences to Level 1 Skills. The continuous victories did not mean much to Meng Tian and now he just wanted to get it over with.
"Teacher Tiao, I would like to request a group battle with the remaining four opponents. I will fight all the four at once. It will save time as well."
"Student Meng, are you sure?"
"Yes, Teacher Tiao."
This brief dialogue sent uproars in the crowd. But they really wanted to see if he could actually do it. The four opponents were the top four martial arts students in his class and this conversation hit their pride really hard. They looked at each other and completely ignored the reason for these matches. They just wanted to take him down.
Teacher Tiao did not need to do anything as all of them got inside the ring, ready to fight.
"Alright, the one to knock down Student Meng wins."
To their surprise, Meng Tian now had a normal wooden sword in his hands. He was finally going to use his actual weapon, the sword. Before anyone could react, Meng Tian stepped towards the four people and made four simple sword strikes.
Whoosh!! Whoosh!! Whoosh!! Whoosh!!
It looked like Meng Tian was just walking and hitting stationary dummies and by the time the audience came back to their senses, all the four opponents were knocked unconscious. It was very fast yet very smooth and Meng Tian leisurely walked out of the ring towards Teacher Tiao. He did not even give them a chance to tell him their names and such. It was an instant defeat.
Teacher Tiao was once again stunned by this monster of a talent, but did not continue to dwell on it. She announced the end of the competition and asked all the students to continue with their practice for the day. She then took Meng Tian to Principal Ren's office to discuss the arrangements for the District Training Camp.
Principal Ren had been keeping an eye on the so-called competition for the first year students, he knew that his junior brother would crush them all, but he wanted to see how he would do it. He was observing everything from his office, and was amused by Meng Tian's use of boxing and different types of weapons to knock out his opponents.
His movement technique was entirely above any Martial Apprentice he had seen before. And the final four sword strikes were a stunning display of skill in the sword. Principal Ren had a feeling that Meng Tian's mastery of the sword has increased by leaps and bounds just after receiving the Intermediate Sword Technique manual in the morning. He sighed again for the umpteenth time and stopped thinking about it.
Teacher Tiao was standing outside Principal Ren's office along with Meng Tian. She gently knocked and entered the room only to see six students standing in attention in front of Principal Ren. They were all waiting for the single student who would be joining them for the District Training Camp that started the next day. There were 3 girls and 3 boys looking straight at Meng Tian.
Of the six students standing in the room, Meng Tian already knew two of them. Yu Xunuo and Lin Caihong, the two final year seniors whom he had officially met during lunch. He looked towards Yu Xunuo and she could not help but blush a little, as she had told him that they would probably not meet for a long time again. But here he was staring right into her eyes, just hours after their 'final' conversation.
Lin Caihong was nonchalant as usual. The other four were just as interesting, the remaining girl had a playful look in her eyes and winked at Meng Tian when he gazed past her. The three boys were his seniors as well, two from the second year and one from the final year. They were all looking at Meng Tian with very keen eyes.
"Xiao Meng, meet your fellow team members for the two-month District Training Camp. We have already seen your extraordinary display of sword and movement techniques." Principal Ren gestured towards a large screen on one of the walls of the office. It showed a replay of his martial arts matches from before.
"Lin Caihong will be your team leader and you have to follow her command. We will be leaving tomorrow afternoon. It is a short notice for you though. Inform your parents and get yourself ready for tomorrow."
Principal Ren asked all the other students and Teacher Tiao to leave, only Meng Tian was left in the office with him. "Junior Brother Meng, every year 3000 high school students from each district are sent to the respective District Training Camps which lasts for two months. You will have to be prepared for any danger during the camp, as the fatality rate is not low."
Waa!!
Fatality... Meng Tian was very closely acquainted with this term. Although his death was nearly instant, he still had to wake up from the dark space that he was in, to be in this world. He knew that he had to face the dangers of this world sometime, but it had only been 3 days since he transmigrated into this world.
"Sigh... This is very serious, the area where you will be training is not completely peaceful. Even you could get hurt, you might even see your team-mates die. This will be your first fight and probably one that is going to bathe you in blood. And the most important thing is that you will be one of the first 500 first year high school students, ever to join the District Training Camp."
"As you would have already guessed, I pulled a few strings using my name to get you this opportunity. Junior Brother, make sure you keep yourself safe and use this experience to temper your skills and most importantly... your heart. This is my only suggestion. Alright, everything else that you need will be provided by the camp. Here, take this."
Principal Ren threw a black storage ring towards Meng Tian. "Again... Stay Safe"
