Red Gecko

The silhouette drew nearer and nearer. Soon, its whole scaly body emerged out of the yellow and orange flames that burned the world.

There it stood, almost as tall as Tyler, with a permanent smile for a mouth and 2 big round eyes with slit pupils staring back at Tyler with curiosity. It occasionally tilted its head as it gazed at Tyler.

It looked like a giant harmless cute red gecko but its appearance caused Tyler's heart to clench and hands to tremble as goosebumps spread all over his body. The cute giant monster that had emerged out of the flames brought a suffocating aura along with it despite its harmless facial appearance. This aura could only be felt if one faced a more powerful being than themselves!

"F-F rank or Hi-higher!" Tyler stuttered beneath his exhausted breaths.

Tyler's eyes wandered across the rest of its body which made his heart clench even tighter. Its body was riddled with the hardest of scales, its tail almost as long as its main body- swinging about excitedly and portraying the two sharp flame spikes at the end. Its black claws were so long and sharp that they dug into the ground! Its body didn't resonate with its cute face in the slightest. It was as menacing as a dragon!

The flame's orange light danced about Tyler's face showing his pupils shrink and dilate repeatedly in fear.

Slowly, he turned his gaze to his trembling hand and clenched his fists thrice.

"I'm exhausted! I have no more dark energy left...." he turned his gaze back to the red gecko monster, "What should I do?"

Tyler's voice came out as soft as a shaking whisper, the foreboding feeling of doom about to descend assaulting his soul!

The red gecko opened its smiling mouth slowly. It was the cutest thing in the world but for Tyler, the gecko opening its mouth was like the gates of hell opening!

-What do I do? What do I do?!!!!!!!!!!!

In the dark space inside the gecko's mouth, an orange light began gathering. Each second that passed felt like a second closer to death for Tyler.

He was stranded, defenseless, exhausted, weak! Yet he was facing a creature that could stomp him to death even when he was at his peak.

He was petrified!

"Not like this! I can't end like this! NO!!!!!!!!!!"

His fear had turned into anger. He was angry because he was too weak to protect himself. He was angry because he came unprepared! He was angry at himself because his death would spell a disaster for his family. He was angry at himself because he threw away his second chance like this!

-No! This can't happen! It can't end like this!

-It can't!!!!!!!

"IT CAN'T!!!!!!!!!!"

He suddenly clutched his head and let out a rage-filled roar that startled the gecko a bit.

His mind fell into the deep abyss of despair and the most painful headache assaulted him!

"yeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssss!" an arcane whisper blew through from one ear to the other.

The gecko continued with its actions, and the light that had condensed inside its mouth had turned into a beam of raging flames that shot at Tyler, burning everything in its path to ashes. With Tyler as the focal point, the beam covered him, burning his figure into a silhouette that dissipated into the flames that spread rapidly across the world!
