Chapter 7

Warren's large-scale stack wasn't like Tyler's. Ice didn't come from his entire body and freeze everything around him. Instead, the ground around him slowly started to freeze outward with it originating from his feet.

The attack also wasn't very fast and it didn't go very far.

'Damn! I knew it wasn't going to be powerful, but I thought it was going to be more than that!' Warren thought. It didn't go very far either. It only reached the second line, which is about ten feet, before it stopped.

And Tyler was right. When the ice gave no sign of spreading any farther, the walls opened up and blasted heat to melt the ice. Tyler was also right about staying in the middle and not getting hurt.

This continued for about thirty minutes or so before a loud voice boomed over an intercom inside the room. "Class is about to end, students! Please exit your assigned training area and gather in outside! Thank you!

During the half-hour that he trained, Warren finally noticed an improvement in his "attack." Instead of stopping at the second line, it would reach about a foot pass it.

When the heat from the walls had finally melted all the ice, Warren stepped over the control panel beside the door. Tyler had told him to enter his name into it when he was done and it'll automatically save his information.

It took Warren a bit to figure out everything, but he was finally able to exit the room. As he entered the main room, he noticed that nearly everybody was already gathered in the middle, so he started jogging because he didn't want to miss anything.

He reached the middle just in time for Mr. John to start talking.

"Good job today, everybody! I saw some real improvement from you all!"

And then he did something that Warren really did not want him to do.

Mr. John looked straight at him and said, "especially you Warren. I noticed some real power coming from you in the Spread Room! It looks like we got a natural!"

Every kid in the room glanced at Warren and his face started to go red from all the attention.

With Warren now embarrassed, Mr. John dismissed the class for a break and told them to be back in thirty minutes.

As everybody exited the room, Warren asked Tyler a question.

"Why is Mr. John giving us a break? Teachers don't usually give students a break between classes, do they?

Warren and Tyler sat down at a table outside the classroom.

"Don't think of this place as a school. Think of it more as a gym and think of your powers as muscles. When a person goes to workout, they take breaks so their muscles can relax for a second. That's how it is with our abilities. When we use them continuously and without break, our bodies start to wear down and get tired. So to prevent us from getting exhausted, we get breaks."

Warren understood and realized that around the end of his time in the Spread Room, he did feel a little fatigue coming on. He just thought it was because he had been standing for a long period of time.

As Warren and Tyler sat down, they started asking about each other's lives. Warren learned a lot about Tyler, such as his family and how he figured out he had powers. Warren also learned that each powered-person had similarities. It turns out when someone's power manifests, it comes with a physical alteration. With Tyler, his power made him extremely agile and fast. And with Alex, apparently her Chlorokinesis made her more sturdy and strong than the average person.

Warren realized that his hair and skin being white and his eyes being light blue were actually his alteration, and since Tyler is a superpower encyclopedia, he told Warren that his skin and hair probably help him withstand the cold and his eyes help him see through blizzards and other inclement weather.

Warren was extremely interested.

Who knew that there so many things that went along with having abilities? This made Warren wonder what else he didn't know.

"Alright=" Warren started, "so now that I know that, is there anything else that I need to know?"

"Umm,,, I don't think so..." Tyler answered. "Oh yeah! There is one interesting thing. You know how every person's ability is based off one of the four elements?"

Warren nodded.

"Well there is a personality trait that goes along with each element."

"So with the element air, people who have a power based off of it, are more likely to be free-spirited and just go with the flow. These are the kinds of people who are followers and make great teammates." "Oh, cool!" Warren exclaimed. "What about the other elements?"

"With earth, individuals are more likely to be super serious and intellectual. These are the ones that make excellent strategies and plans. With the element fire, these people are probably going to have a bad temperament and will most likely have anger issues."

"Okay. What about water?" asked Warren.

"With water-" Tyler began, "individuals who have a power based off of this are will probably have a leader mindset and will risk their lives for others."

This gave Warren so much to think about.

I'm suppose to lead others?!' Warren thought, 'I can barely lead myself!'

Before Warren could even start to worry about the information he had just been told, Mr.John's voice blares over the intercom.

"Alright, boys and girls! Break is over! Time for the next class!"
