Horrible.

That was the best word to describe Yuzuki's current situation.

He was currently panting heavily while dodging strikes from the metaphysical. It had been around four hours since he had started this fight, and had used up quite a number of his HP and SP Stones. He used them sparingly though as he ran around dodging for a bit as his two gauges replenished themselves.

He was honestly thankful for the fact this thing was so much slower than he was. Otherwise, he would have for sure been squashed like the bug he felt like he was right now in front of the serpent. He had managed to deal a great deal of damage to the monster.

However, he had been taking quite a bit of damage as well. Even simple scratches caused by him barely avoiding the metaphysical caused a decent amount of damage to him. That's how insanely strong this thing's physical strength was, it's size also not helping in easing himself either.

Yuzuki quickly had taken out a LV2 HP Stone before crushing it as a few of his wounds healed, also taking out a LV2 SP Stone to recover a good chunk of his SP Points.

'Okay, if I put absolutely all my remaining SP into this final attack, it should be finished... However...'

The spell he was going to chant would take some time for him to actually perform, and he doubted the serpent would grant him the time to do so. He noticed this snake was smarter than it looked, it could actually understand when it was in danger.

'That's it...'

Yuzuki narrowed his eyes before holding his hand forwards. "Spelling! Enders, ice wolves, lend me your breath. Let your freezing be more silent than death."

The serpent seemed to take notice of what he was going to do and quickly charged at him with its fangs ready to strike, though Yuzuki continued his chant as he rushed in and was dodging every single strike as he also was jumping and running all over the place around the snake as it continued its chase.

"In this world, even the prosperous inevitably decay. It is inescapable, divinely ordained karma. Just as water flows downward, snatch away all vigour. Show me a world where all has stopped, seemingly even time. Show me an eternal beauty, a zenith that no one in existence can destroy."

The serpent hissed angrily towards the young boy who continued his chant with a focused expression. Yuzuki quickly backflipped over the serpent's head before quickly avoiding a blast of poison as he ran in and out of the area beneath the snake.

"You who defy my understanding, you who seek only the absolute. What an ugly thing it is! The weirdness of life gathering, writhing, spreading its stench, and multiplying. I do not approve of that, I do not understand it. I desire a land of unsullied white. I desire a beautiful world of death. I desire a world where ignoble creation is buried and bound. I desire for all to stop! I desire for all to stop! I desire for all to stop!"

Yuzuki then narrowed his eyes as he yelled out the final words of the chant. He then jumped back as far as he could before looking forwards. He scoffed slightly as his plan had worked wonders, his constant random dodging had caused the serpent to tie itself into a knot.

The serpent struggled to untangle itself, which Yuzuki didn't waste the perfect chance as he jumped up into the sky as high as he could before the chanted words came together and changed into a bright pale icy blue light that shone above Yuzuki's head.

The light burst with power as Yuzuki's hair swayed violently from the energy radiating off of it.

"Level 13 Dark Art: Cocytus!"

As soon as Yuzuki shouted the final words, the ball of magic suddenly exploded violently as a massive icy blue serpentine dragon with glowing crimson red eyes shot out and down towards the serpent that as still struggling to untangle itself.

The dragon had released a powerful roar that caused the area around them to shake violently. As it soared down towards the serpent, strands of ice particles were radiating off of the dragon as it moved. It wasn't long before the dragon soon crashed down onto the serpent.

Yuzuki watched and heard the metaphysical cry out in agony as it was then completely frozen solid in a castle of ice as a wave of icy water soon washed over the landscape when the dragon crashed down. It was like a tsunami, but a tsunami of extremely cold water.

When the waves hit against the landscape, everything was turning into a frozen wonderland as the trees, surrounding animals, grass and so much more were soon completely encased by a powerful thick layer of beautiful ice.

While the damage and area that had been covered by ice were massive, probably a good five hundred meters or so in diameter, he knew that he could have done more. He had only around two-thirds of his SP that he placed into the attack, but it was more than enough.

He knew that the snake in front of him was probably the same compared to regular snakes when it came to a particular weakness, and that was cold temperatures. Considering that snakes can't normally survive in temperatures below around eighteen degrees, this was a hellhole for them, ironically considering everything was ice.

Even with him not utilising his max capacity of SP, the fact that the temperatures were extremely cold, it should do enough damage to finish off this damn snake for good. The battle had gone on long enough and there were many times he had almost perished.

Countless close-calls.

Yuzuki saw the serpent struggling in the ice for a second before it stopped moving, he then sighed in relief as he saw its glowing eyes die down and become dull. To know for sure that it was dead, he heard a notification sound as he looked at the screen as he landed on the ground.

[Quest Completed]

Task: Locate and defeat the giant anomaly that dwells within this serpentine infested island

Rewards: $500,000, 40 Copper Gacha Coins, 20 Silver Gacha Coin, Skill Book 'The Dark Arts', Skill Book 'Haki'

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yuzuki gave off the faintest smirk as he looked at the information that he was given, he was getting stronger really quickly. He would have to use the Gacha Coins that he had received at a later point, but that could wait as he was more interested in other matters.

The first one being the new other rewards that he had received from the quest, the skill books for 'The Dark Arts' and also for 'Haki'. Both would prove useful as the spells had already been the main reason he was able to kill the serpent, and having Haki would be immensely efficient.

Also, the second was the boost in stats that he should have received. If he was correct, then if he were to open up his stats right now, a big change should have occurred in his stats considering how powerful the serpent was. He should have received 5% of its strength stat in each category.

However, he wanted to use the skill books first. First being 'The Dark Arts'.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[You have learned the skill 'Level 1 Dark Art: Bind']

[You have learned the skill 'Level 1 Dark Art: Decrease Weight']

[You have learned the skill 'Level 3 Dark Art: Incinerate']

[You have learned the skill 'Level 6 Dark Art: Pyroclasm']

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yuzuki nodded his head in satisfaction with the spells that he had obtained. While they weren't nearly as powerful as some of the spells he had gotten prior, they were still very useful in their own right. Even the level one skills that he got.

Bind would help him in restraining enemies if he needed to, though he doubted he would use them against stronger opponents as they would most likely be able to break them. Decrease weight would also allow him to fly somewhat if he needed the high ground, then he would have it. It wouldn't really be flying as all the spell did was cause one's weight to become zero.

The last two spells were fire-based, so they were useful in that regard. Prior to getting the skills, he had no access to anything fire-related aside from his Black Gehenna, though that wasn't really flames in a sense. They weren't even hot. So, at least he had fire-based abilities to work with now.

Yuzuki then used the next skill book 'Haki'.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[You have learned the skill 'Kenbunshoku Haki']

[You have learned the skill 'Busoshoku Haki']

[You have learned the skill 'Haoshoku Haki']

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Kenbunshoku Haki [LV 1/5]: Grants the user a sixth sense of the world around them and limited precognitive abilities. Users of this Haki can sense people's presence, strength, emotions, and intentions. User can also see into the future if the skill level is high enough]

[Busoshoku Haki [LV 1/5]: Allows the user to use their own spiritual energy as armour to defend against attacks, as well as make their own attacks more potent. A person can apply the armament to a section of their body, over their entire body, and even apply it to their weapons. Busoshoku also allows the user to emit the armament a short distance without a medium if high enough skill level. A higher skill level of Busoshoku allows the user to make the emitted armament flow into a target's body and destroy it from the inside out]

[Haoshoku Haki [LV 1/5]: Grants the user the ability to overpower the will of others. This results in the victims being knocked unconscious or becoming temporarily subservient of the Haki user. If skilled enough, the user can tame ferocious animals. Haoshoku is a rare form of Haki that only one in several million people are born with the ability to use.]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Skill level? That's a new one...'

Yuzuki narrowed his eyes as he read the information. It seemed that only certain skills had skill levels that most likely were in response to how well the user is capable of utilising the skill, he could basically evolve the skill in a sense. Unlike the other skills he had, he could improve in these ones.

If he was understanding it correctly, then that would mean he would need to practice these categories of Haki and level their skill level up to optimal levels to allow him to use their full potential. It was a basic and logical system.

He wanted to make sure he was ready for stronger opponents, so he knew for sure that he was going to be practising these skills for sure. If he were to encounter another metaphysical, he didn't want to have to go through such a difficult and life-threatening task again. Getting stronger was crucial.

Speaking of getting stronger, he opened up his status. He widened his eyes a bit.

Yuzuki gave a nod as his power had skyrocketed after that one battle, he had already become stronger than Yagamura in all categories after the battle. Considering the fact that he had just gained four thousand points in each stat category was proof enough.

The ability of [The Touch of Akami] was incredible. Of course, he was really not looking forward to fighting opponents as strong as that Eternity Serpent until he got a lot stronger, despite them being the current best method for him to get stronger with the skill. He still had those status points to allocate as well.

He didn't let his immense increase in power distract him for long though as there were more things he needed to focus on right now. One main one being training his Haki of course, he wanted to get them up in levels as much as he could.

If he was right, then there should still be many hundreds of snakes still around on this massive island that hasn't been covered in ice. The ice that did cover the island from his spell probably only covered a small section of it, that's how big the island was.

It was time for him to start training.
