As the Basilisk charged into the open field with astonishing speed, Zephyr caught sight of its appearance through the sharp reflection in his eyes. The creature resembled a giant lizard, but with a far more terrifying form. Its large, snow-covered body seemed to be encased in frozen ice, gleaming with a pale blue light as the sun's rays struck its icy surface.
The scales, which looked like sharp ice rocks, spread across its body, giving the impression that this creature was a living pillar of ice. The Basilisk's large eyes, shimmering with a cold blue glow, emitted a deadly aura, adding to the fear that hung in the air.
As the Basilisk approached, its speed and the force of its movements caused the ground beneath it to tremble with terrifying intensity, sending waves of snow and ice into the air. Each step the monster took was accompanied by a thunderous rumble, as if the earth itself was responding to the presence of this icy giant.
"Ha! What's gotten this monster so riled up?" Zephyr shouted, dodging the freezing wave that was thrown towards their position, while pulling the mage Roxy to a safer spot.
As they leapt aside, the cliff behind them collapsed instantly when the freezing wave struck, obliterating everything in its path. In mid-air, Zephyr gazed at the cascading snow and ice with a helpless expression, while Roxy muttered in his arms, "It seems we picked the wrong quest that hadn't been verified by the guild," her eyes vacant and her tone filled with regret.
-BOOM!
In the air, as they soared, the destructive freezing wave forced Zephyr to toss Roxy to the right, while he himself was flung to the left. Roxy rolled over in the snow, while Zephyr positioned himself with the Wind God stance, charging his katana with Touki to strengthen it.

Third Form: Clear Storm Wind Tree
Zephyr unleashed a whirlwind slash around their bodies, creating a wind shield that deflected further attacks. This whirlwind not only deflected incoming attacks but also sliced through their surroundings, dispersing the frozen bubbles released around them.
Meanwhile, Roxy expertly manipulated earth magic, creating a protective wall from the frozen ground. The freezing bubbles that touched the earth wall immediately froze and shattered with a loud cracking sound, demonstrating the power and effectiveness of the magic she wielded.
As the Basilisk's attacks grew more intense, Zephyr and Roxy had to utilise every ability they had to survive, facing an increasingly aggressive and terrifying ice monster. The creature, with its fearsome destructive power, barely gave them any time to breathe.
When the Basilisk prepared to launch its next attack, Zephyr noticed a slight pause in its attack pattern. This was a precious opportunity, but Roxy gave a firm signal not to approach, her eyes filled with tension as she issued the warning.
Soon after, the reason for Roxy's warning became clear. The Basilisk released an intensely freezing breath, creating an ice storm that covered the trees behind it with a thick layer of ice. The two of them were forced to retreat, battling against the freezing gust that seemed intent on freezing everything around them.
Roxy, who was a little nervous about the increasingly dire situation, felt the weight of the responsibility she had to bear. However, on the other hand, Zephyr displayed a burning fighting spirit, disregarding fear and uncertainty. His bad habit—a compulsion to test the limits of his abilities—surfaced in this dangerous situation.
With a blazing determination, Zephyr sliced through the snow-covered ground with agile movements. He stomped on the sliced ground, causing it to lift into the air, and kicked it towards the giant monster. The chunk of earth shot through the air like a projectile, cutting through the air at high speed.
-Graaaah!
Zephyr's attack hit one of the large crystals on the Basilisk's body, shattering it into pieces. This successful strike encouraged Roxy to take action. Not willing to be outdone in this battle, she quickly launched her magic attack with the same determination.
Roxy directed her staff and chanted a spell with full concentration. A number of blazing fireballs ignited and shot in rapid succession, piercing the air and raining down on the Basilisk with searing fire. Each successive shot not only added heat to the battlefield but also intensified the battle, placing even greater pressure on the fearsome ice monster.
Meanwhile, Zephyr, with the speed and precision of a master swordsman, seized the opportunity perfectly. He leapt into the air with impressive agility, like a predator bird ready to swoop on its prey. With a war cry that echoed through the falling snow, he swung his sword in a grand gesture.
Seventh Form: Gale, Sudden Gust!
His sword movement created a powerful wind that formed a sharp vortex, slicing through the air with tremendous force. The wind encircled the Basilisk, ripping through its flesh and causing the monster to experience deep pain. The Basilisk's roar, horrifying and filled with agony, echoed through the forest, as if shaking the world around them.
As though trapped in a storm, the Basilisk struggled hard against the onslaught of attacks from all directions. Panting and severely wounded, the monster tried to regain its position, but each attempt became increasingly difficult in the face of the devastating combination of fire and wind attacks.
As the battle reached a more intense phase, Zephyr, with his sharp observational skills, noticed the Basilisk was preparing to use its terrifying survival ability. Among the layers of frozen snow and ice, Zephyr clearly saw the large crystal on the monster's back, which appeared to be the source of the Basilisk's power and defence. Without hesitation, he decided to take the risk and target the crystal as the key to defeating the monster.
First Form: Dust Vortex Cutter!
With a dazzling and almost blinding speed, Zephyr propelled himself forward from the air, his body spinning in a highly skilled horizontal cyclone pattern. His sword slashed with perfect precision, creating a dust vortex that cut through everything in its path.
-CRASH!
With a resounding explosion, his slash successfully shattered the large crystal protruding from the Basilisk's back. The crystal broke into tiny shards that scattered in the cold air. Zephyr landed gracefully right in front of the monster's head, his body trembling with the energy and battle spirit that burned within him.
However, the Basilisk did not remain still. With a terrifying roar, the monster opened its massive mouth, releasing a deadly freezing breath with destructive intent. Roxy, always prepared and vigilant, immediately directed her staff and used wind magic to push Zephyr with tremendous force.
With a powerful push, Zephyr was propelled to the right, avoiding the freezing breath that froze everything in its path. He rolled through the snow, quickly adjusting his position, ready to face the monster once again.
His katana shone with a striking white light, electrical effects surrounding the blade with a threatening aura. The accumulated energy within it felt like a lightning bolt ready to explode, and Zephyr knew it was time to deliver the final, decisive strike.
Sixth Form: Black Wind Mountain Mist!
Zephyr spun his body in a grand, whirling motion, generating a terrifying tornado of slashes. The powerful black wind swept in all directions, creating a vortex of immense power. The tornado of slashes danced in the air, slicing and tearing through everything in its path with speed and power beyond limits.
This attack not only wreaked havoc on the surrounding area but also overwhelmed the Basilisk with devastating force. The tornado of slashes from Zephyr spun with astonishing power, tearing the monster's skin like a blender crushing frozen ice. The black wind swirled with immense intensity, slicing and ripping through every layer of the Basilisk's defences until it resembled crudely cut flesh.
Meanwhile, Roxy, who watched the battle with admiration, could not contain her astonishment. She had travelled far, explored various parts of the world, and joined many parties, but never had she encountered a companion like Zephyr. His swordsmanship defied the laws of physics and magic, creating miracles on a battlefield that was hard to believe. The monster, which once seemed solid and terrifying, now crumbled in the blink of an eye, not merely wounded but utterly destroyed.
