Hugo stammered to find the right words for a moment, before he sighed and said. "Forgive me Hailey, I did not mean to cause offence, Something caused me to become suspicious of that man and that was wrong of me."
He paused to see Hailey's face grow slightly softer before he continued. "As for Gabrielle." Hugo did not want to tell Hailey that she was currently unstable, as Gabrielle tends to flick a switch around Hailey and turns back to normal.
