Victor paced back and forth in the room, his hair disheveled, evidence that his fingers had been going through it over and over again. His eyes looked disoriented and confused. He hadn't slept a wink after leaving Augustine's house last night. He was ready to use violence if he was certain Maya was in the house, but Augustine was a sly man; he wouldn't be that sloppy.
"Victor, you need to calm down," Old Bat tried to soothe him, her anxiety increasing just from looking at him.
Victor stopped walking, as if he remembered something, then started pacing again. "I don't trust Augustine. He might do something to Maya."
"I know, we all know. But we need to make a good plan first before going after Augustine. We all want to keep Maya safe, trust me," Old Bat sighed, looking at Shadow for help.
As they were talking, Raven and Lily entered the room. Lily ran towards Old Bat, hugging the woman closely.
