The Door

When I wake up, Hope is still asleep. Everett is rebandaging up Lukus's wounds and he seems to have fresh bandages on as well so he properly already took care of himself. I walk up to them and Everett bandages me some. I enjoy this a lot. Him taking care of me as I am in a weakened state. No, I can't be thinking this. This isn't the time. We are on a mission. We aren't at his place where I can think this all I want. Once I am bandaged up, we eat and by then Hope wakes up. Everett bandages up Hope as me while Lukus is working on trying to open the door. Once she is bandaged up, she gets something to eat. Lukus tries to freeze the door but fails. Instead the door tried to attack him with a spike, I pushed him out of the way. Lukus still got hit slightly but it wasn't bad, I got it worse then him but I'm good, I just got hit in the arm anyway the spike that came out is all the way through my arm and I'm bleeding so much.

"Dad! Are you alright?" I can see Everett and Hope looking over at me as I hold the wound.

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me. Are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm fine but you clearly aren't. You are bleeding so much."

"Uncle M." Hope runs up and hugs me before I can respond to Lukus. Everett starts bandaging up my arm after taking out the spike of my arm. It hurts so much but he does his best to make sure that I get bandaged up. He puts a makeshift tourniquet on my arm so I don't bleed out to death

"Hi little dude."

"You are hurt."

"Yes, I am. But don't worry, your daddy will take very good care of me. Okay? I will be fine."

"Promise?"

"I promise. Don't worry. I'm fine. I will survive.

Lukus holds Hope as she cries, trying to her calm down. Everett finishes bandaging up my arm.

"What were you thinking?" Everett asks me.

"I didn't want Lukus to get hurt. I should have stood my ground more and not let him come."

"I know you are worried about him and I guess thinking about it I would do the same if Hope was in danger."

After a few minutes, everyone calms down. We keep our space from the door as we try to open it, but it's not easy, so we get closer but we all are being extremely careful. Hope does see something and gets closer to the door, getting some of the god blood onto the door causing it to open. Well it's good to know how to open the door.

When we enter the room, it is a lot darker than the hallway as there seems to be no light in the room, which is a great break for our eyes. We all start looking around. We use the buddy system so I am with Lukus and Everett is with Hope. I expected there to be something here but it seems to just be a circle with lots of locked doors and a pool in the middle. The pool has small lights in it, which is the only light source other then the hallway, since we left the door open. There are 10 doors. I wonder if each door is for a god. I only wonder that as there is a door with a clock on it, one with water, another with fire, one with rocks, one with fish; sharks; and algae, another with a tombstone, one with a cup, another with humans, one with sheep; cows; and pigs, and then the lasted one has all of the pictures on it under a thing. The one with all of the pictures is the biggest door.

The thing just has arm like appendages reaching out to hold the pictures, so if these are the doors of all the gods, then we have killed 70% of them. What's left is the tomestone, human, and the thing door is left. If the door represents what they are the god of then I would think it would be death, humans or maybe life, no because there are fish and sheeps over there so maybe intelligence, and then I would think the last one is the god of all the gods.

I look over at the others. Hope and Lukus are playing in the pool. Everett is looking at the big door. I assume he is trying to figure out how to open it. I walk up to him.

"What do you guys take with these carvings?"

"Some remind me of the gods. Like the one with the farm animals is like the one with the wool on it and the one with the fish that reminds me of the one with the fish tanks for limps." Everett responds.

"At least I'm not the only one that made that connection with the doors and the gods."

"Wouldn't that mean we have three more to deal with?"

"Yes and I doubt that it will be as easy as the others were.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because there is no way they don't know by now. Especially what I think these doors represent."

"What do you think they mean?"

"Death, human or maybe intelligence, and god of all gods."

"That makes sense. I was thinking this one is the universe or all life."

"I see why you would think that but what do you think the human one means?"

I can see Everett thinking. "I was thinking about human life. Like the Christian god."

"That makes sense."

"We should double check on the kids before they get hurt."

"Yes, we should."

We walk over to the kids. They are still playing in the pool as they laugh. They are clearly having fun which is good and was not what I was expecting but at least this isn't all bad.
