Chapter 2: Defending the Great Wall (2)

"Angels!!! Create a shield on the wall!!"

Lucias shouted as he stabbed a mana arrow towards a Gastrea and shot another one at his back. 

"[Aegis]!!!"

All of the angels shouted causing thousands of barriers to appear on the wall. Blocking the Gastreas from entry, causing all of them to fiercely hop on the barrier started to attacking with it blunt force. Placing massive pressure on the angels stationed at the wall.

"[Domain Activation: Virtue]"

Lucias casted, causing a magic circle to appear beneath his feet. While his surroundings illuminated with brilliant golden light.

"[Expand]"

He muttered causing the magic circle to spread through the entire battlefield. Showering all of the soldiers present with that brilliant light.

"[Blessing of Might]"

He casted, causing all of the soldier's bodies to illuminate brilliant bright light while power surged within their bodies. Making all of them scream at the top of their lungs due to the new profound blessing placed on their bodies.

"GOLEMS!!! GET IN POSITION!!"

All of the commanders shouted causing all of the golems to stand close to the edge of the walls.

"Angels!! Release the shields!!"

Lucias shouted, causing all of the angels to dispel their barrier around the walls. The Gastreas, who felt the obstacle dissapeare quickly launched their attack towards the soldiers. But was only instantly killed as a troll mashed his head on the floor.

"ARGHHHHHHH!!!!"

They all shouted as they begun to clash with the Gastreas once more. Showering them with a rain of bullets while the trolls and knights all pushed them back. Preventing them from attacking their main damage dealer.

"Push the golem off the walls!!!"

The soldiers shouted as the golems all curled up like a ball. Blocking the Gastreas path as they tried to jump over the golem, but quickly fell off as the human soldiers rolled the golem off the wall.

Causing all of the Gastreas climbing the wall to fall off along the golem before getting crushed as they both dropped on the ground.

"AGAIN!!"

The soldiers shouted as the new batch of Golems curled up into a boulder.

"... I forgot about that..."

Lucias muttered as they watched their actions before placing his hands on the wall.

"[Remove Friction]"

He casted causing the entire Great Wall to get covered by a layer of mana. Turning the entire wall like a slippery glass, causing the Gastreas to all fall on the ground.

"TROLLS HELP THE HUMANS PUSH THE GOLEMS OFF THE EDGE!!"

Lucias shouted, causing all of the trolls to abandon their station. Walking towards the crowds of humans pushing the golems off the edge.

"GUNNERS!!! FIRE AT WILL!! KILL ANY GASTREAS ON THE WALL!!"

Lucias shouted causing all of the gunners to quickly move close to the wall without blocking the path of rolling golems. Raining down bullets of mana on the Gastreas that were desperately trying to climb the wall.

"Mount the machine guns on the wall!! GET ANY GUN THAT YOU CAN FROM THE CAMP AND FIRE AT WILL!!"

The soldiers shouted as the Gastreas started to imbued their claws on the wall to climb.

"[Change Composition: Mithril]!"

Lucias casted causing another layer of mana to cover the entire wall. Significantly improving it's defense and durability to withstand attacks.

The Gastreas from before tried to stab their claws on the wall, but failed as their claws immediately broke due to the toughness of the wall.

They all shrieked in pain before falling on the ground as a golem crushed them against the cold soil beneath the wall.

"[Flame Tornado]!!"

The sorceress all casted, releasing several Blazing tornadoes at the back of the army. Burning all of the tier I to III Gastreas into cinders while heavily damaging the Tier IV Gastreas at the back.

[Lucias, don't drain your mana too much]

Restia warned. Fully knowing that Lucias mana was draining faster than any of the mages in this battlefield, mainly due to maintaining the anti-spacial magic barrier across the world.

"I have some to spare so don't worry"

Lucias said as before pulling the string of his bow, and aiming it at the back of the army.

"[Inscription: Hellfire]"

He said, causing a ominous magic circuit to surround his mana arrow. Before blazing into black flames as it slowly grew in size.

"[Destructive Enhancement]"

He muttered causing the mana arrow to expand even further. Creating a massive sense of dread to the commanders hidden behind the Tier V Gastreas at the back.

"[Inscription: Explosion]"

He said with a large grin on his face before aiming it towards the sky and releasing it to the enemies at the back of the opposing army.

"[Rain of Arrows]!"

He shouted, causing the arrows to split into thousands of pieces before raining down on the army. Creating thousands of small explosion as the black flames started to spread and devour the army from behind.

"UGHHH!!!"

"LUCIAS FREY!!!"

The commanders of the opposing army shouted in a furious voice as they watched the elites of their mana get burned to crisp due by the hellfire.

Slowly, hundreds of thousands of corpses started to pile on the ground of the battlefield. Creating a small hill that Gastreas used to climb the wall, but was immediately killed as they got bombarded with hundreds of bullets form the gunners.

"Sorceresses. Cast [Explosion] on the hill of corpses on the ground!! Don't give them a chance in climbing up!!"

Lucias ordered as hundreds of powerful beams of mana was fired at the wall. Making all of the angels to immediately create a barrier to block their attacks.

"HURRY UP!!!"

Lucias shouted, causing all of the sorceress to immediately create a magic circle above the hills of corpses close to the walls.

"[Explosion]!!"

They casted, causing a massive series of explosion to occur close to the wall. Blowing the mountains of corpses into pieces as they all scattered across the ground.

"There's no end to them!!! We're running out of mana!!!"

The generals of the human army shouted as millions more Gastreas ran out of the dimensional rift.

"Shit"

Lucias cursed while raining down hundreds of arrows at the Gastreas on the ground.

"REINFORCEMENTS ARE HERE!!!"

One of the soldier from behind shouted with an excited voice as hundreds of swords suddenly rained down on the Gastreas on the ground.

"Those bastards are late"

Lucias said without turning his head back as he could easily recognized that attack. The cultivators of China has finally arrived at the battlefield.

"Dare to attack our homeland!? You're courting death!!!"

One of the cultivators riding a gigantic two handed sword shouted, causing Lucias to frown in response.

"I swear if they don't stop talking like that... "

Lucias said with a slightly uncomfortable expression on his face.

"KILL THEM ALL!!!"

The cultivators all shouted as they begun to fly above the battlefield while holding their swords and spears in their hands.

"Sorry if I ever accidentally shoot you guys"

Lucias muttered as he continued to fire more arrows at the Gastreas. Killing all of them in one shot while the Cultivators started to slice the lower tier Gastreas with their swords. Immediately ascending back to the sky once they got overwhelmed with numbers.

"Keep advancing!!!"

The demons at the back of the opposing army shouted as they suddenly crushed a jet black crystal on their hands. Spreading black miasma on the battlefield as the Gastreas all started to ferociously shriek in response.

"... This is bad"

Lucias muttered with a grave expression on his face. Noticing their crazed state as he could guess that the commanders made them berserk.

"CULTIVATORS!! FALL BACK IMMEDIATELY!!!"

He ordered as he watched a cultivator get pounced on by a Gastrea before getting ripped to pieces as soon as he fell on the ground. 

"FALL BACK!!!"

The Cultivators shouted as they begin to fly back to the wall. Some getting captured by the tongue of a tier IV gastrea from before. Immediately pummeling their numbers.

"This fucking idiots. SORCERESS!! SUPPORT THE CULTIVATORS UNTIL THEY SUCCESSFULLY RETREATED!!"

Lucias shouted, causing the all of the sorceress to create thousands of mana arrows before accurately launching it towards the pursuing Gastreas. They couldn't use AoE spells since they might accidentally hit the Cultivators by accident. So they had no choice but to use a low tier spells to keep the Gastreas pursing the cultivators at bay.

"Sephie!!! How long till reinforcements arrive!?"

He shouted as he fired an arrow towards a Gastrea who jumped at one of the Cultivators. Piercing a large hole on its head while the arrow killed many the Gastreas at its back.

"30 minutes!! Hold on for 30 more minutes!!"

Sephie shouted as she tried to communicate with the reinforcements coming to their location to support them.

"HOLD ON FOR HALF AN HOUR!! DON'T LET THEIR BERSERK STATE INTIMIDATE YOU! KEEP FIRING!"

He tried to shout causing of the soldiers to scream as they all entered a crazed state on their own. Firing at random since the Gastreas entire covered the ground. 

But some still felt fear in their hearts as their hands trembled while holding their guns. But netherless, they stayed strong as they started to follow their allies actions.

"ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"

The soldiers all screamed to lessen the fear that they felt as they continued to rain down bullets and destructive spells on the Gastreas. Ferociously charging at their direction.

"[Guardian Knights]"

Lucias casted as hundreds of hallow golems of golden armor appeared below the walls. Holding a gigantic sword with their right hand while a wide shield was present in their other hand.

"Hold them off!"

He ordered, causing the hallowed armors to move. Blocking a Gastrea that jumped at their direction before slicing them into two using their greats words.

"[Inferno]!"

The sorceresses casted, causing hundreds of pillars of flames to appear randomly on the battlefield. Burning many Gastreas to cinders while Lucias kept raining down hundreds of arrows on them at quick succession using [Rain of Arrows].

"20 more minutes!!"

Sephie shouted as the Gastreas started to devour the guardian knights whole with their numbers before crowding beneath the walls. Creating a ladder of bodies that they could use to climb.

"Sorceresses!!"

Lucias shouted causing the sorceress to immediately cast [Explosion] on the accumulating pile of Gastreas near the wall. Blowing them up into pieces as another pile started to accumlate once again.

"Sorceress!! Abandon your stations and focus on the accumulating pile on the wall!!"

Lucias ordered. Making all of the sorceress to nod their heads in response before firing a besiege of explosive magic on the accumulating bodies.

"[Mass Explosion]!"

Lucias casted a spell from the [Destruction Magic] category and aiming it at the middle of the opposing army. Blowing a 3rd their numbers to smithereens as a gigantic crater appeared on the ground.

"Reinforcements are here!!!"

Sephie shouted as a 100, 10 feet tall eagle descended on the ground. Dropping a small bomb to the piles of Gastreas before exploding. Spreading a lethal amount of mana across the surroundings. Killing thousands of Gastreas in an instant.

"WE'RE SAVED!!"

The soldier all cheered in excitement as 3 large airships arrived at their location. Dropping millions of soldiers from different races directly on the battlefield.

"MEN!!! ABANDON YOUR STATION AND CHARGE!!!"

"ARGHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

All of the soldiers shouted as they all begun to jump down from the walls. Charging at the millions of Gastreas at that was still charging towards their direction.

"ADVANCE!!!"

Lucias ordered, causing all of the trolls to abandon their stations before they begun to charge at the enemies. While the gunners and sorceress remained on the walls.

Fierce fighting then begun on the battlefield as the Forsaken Factions army started to clash with the Gastreas. Causing a sense of dread to spread among the commanders of the opposing army.

"RETREAT!!!"

They shouted causing all of the Gastreas to immediately follow their orders like puppets. 

"CHASE THEM!! DON'T LEAVE ANY OF THEM ALIVE!"

A colonel from the Forsaken Faction's army shouted as the forces begun their pursuit. Killing several thousands of Gastreas that was on the retreat.

"RETREAT!! RETREAT!!"

He shouted but froze as a massive wall of crimson ice appeared between them and their only way of escape.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Elmenhilde Karnstein said with a light smile on her face before jumping off the airship. With hundreds of high nobility vampires following suit.

What made the Forsaken Faction so deadly is not because of their raw strength. It's because they were so used into dealing with Gastreas and Demons at the border that made them formidable to the opposing army.

The invaders kept on depleting their numbers while the alliance only grew fiercer and stronger under every attacks.

"C-CHARGE AT THEM!!! KILL AS MANY AS YOU CAN!!"

The commanders of the opposing army said under one desperate attempt. Since they couldn't escape death, they should bring as many soldiers from the alliance along with them.

"[Purgatory: Holy Flames]"

Lucias casted as he swung his arm to the side as a large blaze of golden fire spread across the opposing army. Burning many Gastreas to crisp without injuring any of his own men.

The alliance's army then begun to besiege the opposing army as blood once again started to scatter across the battlefield. 

Slowly, the alliance's army started to surround the opposing army on all sides. Slowly backing them in to a corner as their numbers started to deplete more and more as the battle continues.

Lucias directly charged at the front of the army with Restia in his hands, fully transformed into a large scythe that was bigger than his own body.

"[Reap]"

He said as he swung the scythe towards the remaining army of Gastreas. Launching a blade of jet blck mana to the army before slicing both their bodies directly into two. 

The Gastreas all shrieked as they slowly got wiped out by the alliance's army. Leaving only the demon commanders behind.

"ARGHHH!!!!!!"

The commanders shouted as they all raised their weapons before charging towards the army that completely outnumbered them by a large margin.

"Even if I di-"

One of them tried to shout but was cut off as an arrow pierced the eye hidden beneath his helmet. 

"LUCIAS FREY!!!! IF ONLY YOU WEREN'T HERE!!!"

A commander shouted furiously as his allies all fell one by one, leaving him alone to face the alliance's army by himself.

"Indeed, if only I weren't here... but sadly. We had the same plan"

Lucias said with a light grin on his face before piercings the eye hidden beneath the man's armor with his finger. Killing him instantly as Lucias sudden beheaded him.

"VICTORY!!!"
