Chapter 5: Camellia roses

???

An overpowering scent of roses filled the air, a nice and sweet smell. Wait..roses?

Angel opened her eyes slowly, wincing when the air was too cold and made her quickly shut them again. It felt cool with a soft breeze blowing around her, and the ground was soft and mushy under her feet. That was weird..when she closed her eyes, she was in bed but this felt like outside. She opened her eyes back up before gasping when she found herself surrounded by a field of camellias and roses. These two flowers don't normally grow wild together, at least she didn't they do but even if they did, how did she get here? She looked around to try and see if anyone was near, hoping to maybe ask where she was before she spotted a single tree up on a hill. A memory smacked her head as she stared at the tree in shock as it was one from Zapple, a planet far from earth, and the scene in front of her was nearly a perfect copy of a place near her old home. The pink leaves of the tree and bright green grass of the hill confused her, everything she saw at that moment was from her home, a place she was far away from. It almost made her homesick if the more recent memories she had of the place didn't make her feel sick and angry. She started walking up the hill to the tree, her fingertips lightly grazing the soft petals of the flowers as she passed them, taking note of how real everything felt. The realness of it all made her confused and a little worried for she knew where she was but she wasn't supposed to be here, she felt very out of place. She looked down, feeling soft fabric on her feet with each step, and found she was wearing a white knee-length dress, stockings that covered what the dress didn't, and a long but thin silk coat that blew behind her like a cape as she walked. She looked back up and took in a shaky breath, her eyes darting around as her body was tense and her mind was alarmed. She didn't know who could have brought her here or dressed her like this but she didn't like it, not one bit. She got to the top of the hill and stood next to the tree, her eyes tracing the curved lines and grooves of the bark before her fingers did the same carefully. Her breath was caught in her throat when her finger traced over a heart that had been carved into the wood, the memory of her always sitting down at this tree and drawing hearts with her sharp nails coming forward. This..was surreal, it was almost like she was on Zapple but she clearly remembers that she was on earth before she fell asleep. She looked away from the tree and let her eyes drift to the side of the hill where it had a sudden drop off into a river, the sun always set on this side of the hill. When she was younger and still on Zapple, unknowing to her fate of being a Queen with a King forced by her side, she'd run to this hill every chance she got to see the sunset behind the river and the hills it hid in, always loving the way the sun changed the colors of everything around it. She stepped away from the tree and over to the edge, her toes on nothing but air as her eyes watched the sun slowly set behind hills of colorful flowers. The sudden kick of being homesick made her eyes water, the want for when things were simple coming to the front of her mind and, unlike the other times it's come forward, she let it control her emotions. She missed moments like this where she was carefree and could watch the sun peacefully.

"Little one.." A deep but loud voice suddenly grumbled behind her and made her freeze, her breath stopping out of fear. Her brief daydreaming had blocked out the sounds of anyone coming up behind her and with her on the edge, it was perfect for whoever was behind her to push her off, why did she think she was all alone here? "Don't be scared. I won't harm you." It said again and she heard something big walk up behind her, the fur of her tail fluffing up at the big thuds hitting the grass and she wondered what could have been there. "Turn around." It growled, its warm breath making her shiver when it hit her back and wings, making the black feathers ruffle open slightly. Whatever it was, the voice was very familiar with its unignorable deep dominant tone and the echo of it. So, she obeyed its request to turn around, doing so slowly before the heels of her feet were off the hill and she now faced the creature. Her eyes widened when she was met with the sight of a giant wolf but it wasn't just any normal sight of one. This was the Alpha Hellhound, known for being a ruler of darkness and killing hundreds of people with their own shadows, this was one person Angel hoped to never meet if it craved for her death. Yet, here she was in front of it. "Wha..?" She gaped in complete shock at the Alpha wolf, reminding herself not to step back or she would fall. The wolf was huge, around seven feet tall, had red and black fur that seeped out blood, dark red horns that curled around its fluffy ears and its eyes were hollow and slowly leaked out some type of black goo. It was right in her face when she turned around, its warm breath hitting the whole front of her body and turning her warm yet making her shiver at the same time. It slowly backed away from her till it was a few good feet away before it sat down. "Come to me, little one." It said, its voice echoing and Angel soon recognized it to be the one that talked to her before Maxine had cleaned her hand up. Her thought reminded her of her hand and she looked down only to be surprised to find no cuts or bandages on it. "Your wounds do not transfer into this world. Now listen to me and come here." It growled out, Angel flinching as her eyes snapped up to its hollow ones, the wolf having no patience for those who didn't listen, it was easily irritable. She listened quick, not wanting to make the Alpha mad at her and stepping away from the edge, soon standing in front of the wolf while it sat under the cool shade of the tree. She kept her head bowed down, knowing it's what you're supposed to do in the presence of an Alpha like the one in front of her, even if this was a dream. Yet again to her surprise, a tail came into her sight and found it's way under her chin, gently tilting her head up. "No need for that, little omega. You can keep your head up around me." The wolf said, lowering its head down and gently nudging her head up with its nose. Her ears went down, her tail tucking between her legs as she looked up and her blue eyes connected with hollow ones. Angel then realized the wolf must have been the one to bring her here, it had the power to do many things, and to bring her here like this was just a single speck of its rumored power. As she stared into its hollow eyes, she wondered why it brought her here, knowing it didn't do this for nothing. "A-alpha, why have you brought me here..?" She spoke in a soft tone of voice, her tail tucking more between her legs as she cursed internally at her stutter but she couldn't help it being around a pure alpha, it was in her nature to be nervous around higher power. The wolf batted its large tail against the ground as it continued to stare at her before it ran its black tongue over its lips. Angel's ears twitched, fear wanting to flood her body but she remembered it said it wouldn't hurt her, she forced herself to calm down even if waiting for an answer was killing her. "I brought you here so we may connect and bond." The wolf said, standing up and turning away from her confused form. Angel's eyebrows knitted together as she watched the wolf walk over to the tree and sit down against the trunk, letting its front paws slide down so it was soon laying down. Connect and bond? Angel was unsure by what it meant, why in the world would the Alpha want to do whatever that was? "Bond..?" She slowly questioned, watching the wolf lay down. "Yes, little one. Bond." The wolf confirmed after it had finished getting comfortable and relaxed against the tree, looking up at Angel. The tree shook by the sudden weight being on its trunk and more pink leaves began to flutter around her and the wolf more. Angel stood there, still very confused and almost uncomfortable as the feeling of being out of place came back. She's never been around one of the pure wolf alphas, especially one of the most powerful ones, it made her feel much smaller in comparison. The hellhound alpha has been known to of been around longer than hell and heaven, it also was said to be the co-creator of Earth. "Those are rumors." The wolf hummed. Angel's eyes widen and snap up to its face, her ears going up as if she didn't hear correctly. "Wha..?" It couldn't have just heard what she was thinking, did it?

The wolf was silently staring at her now as she stared back, her mind alarmed with the thought of the wolf hearing her thoughts but then the wolf spoke after what seemed like a long time. "I can read your mind, it's part of the bond." It had answered the question she didn't say and that avalanched her discomfort into a big pile, she didn't know how to react to any of this. The Alpha bringing her here, being alone with her, and crossing many many personal lines of hers with ease made her antsy and fidget. She expected the wolf to laugh at her discomfort like she was used to her own family doing when they wanted her not to feel a certain way but it didn't. It was allowing her to feel uncomfortable, letting her go through the hoops of it instead of making her stop. "Come over here. Lay down." The wolf said. Angel looking up from within her thoughts and obeying as she walked over but then stood in front of it awkwardly. "Where shall I lay, Alpha?" She asked in a soft voice, afraid to speak louder than a whisper. The wolf shifted itself onto its side before its tail went behind Angel and gently nudged her, she didn't move. "Lay on me." It said. Angel swallowed her nerves down, her tail fluffing up and her hands messing with each other. "I s-shouldn't do that, Alpha. I don't want to hurt yo-" "Little one." The wolf cut Angel off with a growl, giving the warning that arguing was only delaying what was going to happen no matter how she tried to talk herself out of it. Angel bowed her head in defeat and made the rest of her way over to the wolf with its tail guiding her over. She sat on the grass, fixing her dress first just to delay this even more before hesitantly laying back on the wolf's soft fur. Surprisingly, none of the blood that seeped out of the wolf's fur got onto her, she was in awe of this. The wolf chuckled, making Angel blush in embarrassment and look down. "No need to be so shy, we need to get comfortable with each other." It said, its tail moving and laying over Angel's legs like a blanket, warm and soft. "Why though? If you don't mind me asking, Alpha.." She looked up at the wolf's face to find it staring at her again. She forced herself to keep her eyes on the wolf instead of turning away like she has the past few times she found the wolf looking at her. "You can stop calling me Alpha, we are bonded souls. You are my outer wolf while I'm your inner wolf." The wolf said, those words familiar to Angel and making her ears perk up. Inner wolf, that was something her father told her about. An inner wolf was something that came when someone had either hit the age to have their first heat or had a forced heat by meeting their mate. A pure wolf soul would bond and connect with hers, becoming apart of her as she became apart of it, the wolf would be able to control her if she allowed it and she would be able to shift into wolf form. "Correct, little one." The wolf said, startling the heck out of Angel before chucking again. Her father never mentioned anything about being able to read each other's minds...

"Perhaps he wanted you to be surprised." The wolf hummed out before it laid its head down on its front paws and closed its eyes. "Well, he got what he wanted." Angel chuckled nervously. The wolf curled around her more, its nose touching her hands and almost making her flinch but she made herself relax when the wolf started sniffing her hands. "Mm...You've been touched by our mate.." It hummed, sounding pleased by the scent it was getting off her hands, and that's when she definitely recoiled, taking her hands away from the wolf and uncomfortably held them up in the air. The wolf raised its head in reaction to Angel, its ears going down. "Ah..I'm sorry." It bowed its head and Angel just looked away. "I can't ignore the smell of our mate.." It said, raising its head back up. Angel stared at the sky and the flowers around them, her ears falling as she mumbled, "..Mate?" Angel looked down more, "We don't have a mate...Not on earth." She added on in a sad tone. The wolf tilted its head before its tail moved to the side of Angel's face and turned it so they were face to face. "Little one. everyone has to meet their mate and the world makes it so you will meet them." It said. Angel frowning at its words. "Fate makes sure you find love. Even if it seems like the wrong time and no matter how hard you fight it, you'll get through it and love your mate. You'll be happy." It said again, its words seeming wise and truthful like the wolf had been through that kind of stuff before. Angel looked down in thought, getting into a train about what the wolf has been through but quickly stepped off, knowing the wolf would read what she was thinking. "I know you've been hurt many times in the past and been through so much but I will help you be strong. It's why I chose to bond with you. I will help you and you will help me." It said, it's tail gently brushing the side of Angel's face before it started irritating her and she batted it away to make it stop. Angel's eyebrows furrowed together in a thoughtful expression, processing what the wolf said. "But..how would I help you? I don't know any way to do so, I'm just a weak omega." At that said, the wolf gave her a dog grin and a chuckle. "Oh, you are so much more, little one." The wolf nudged its nose against her arm gently, causing her to shiver from the coldness of it and look down again, a frown making itself present on her lips. "But, I really don't see how I would be able to help you. You're a pure wolf Alpha, I'm a hybrid omega." She said, her eyes watching as her fingers fumbled with each other. The wolf shifted to sit up a little better before its nose came in contact with Angel's. She gasped, moving away from the coldness. "Little one, you have a lot of potentials. Potential that makes me feel extremely lucky to choose you. You'll learn how you can help me in the future but for now...I will help you."
