Away

Ifera looked at me and asked. She walked towards me and crouched down in front of me. I looked up at Ifera and realized that she was not as angry as before and seemed to have calmed down.

"Do you care about her?"

She asked again.

I nodded my head slowly.

She continued to stare at me for a few seconds and finally sighed while looking down.

"I didn't kill her. I know how strong she is and just one slap from me wont kill her. I raised her myself you know. She is not that weak."

I didn't know if I could believe her but she didn't look like she was lying. I relaxed a bit thinking at least Sheila didn't have to die. She had defied Ifera and suffered for it. I wasn't sure about Turek since he was lying on the floor unmoving but I had not seen Ifera attack him. He probably had fainted.

"What did you do to Turek?"

"Who? Oh that guy that fainted on his own? I haven't even touch him yet. He just fainted. How did he even become an adventurer."

Ifera's mood seemed to have changed again as she looked at me with amusement. She seemed to have found Turek fainting on his own scary but I knew I could have fainted just as easily. The aura that Ifera was giving off was scary enough for that. While I didn't feel the same pressure anymore, it was still quite scary to look at her.

Ifera had asked Sheila to kill me and I expected her to carry the task out now that Sheila had failed. Once I knew both Turek and Sheila were fine, I closed my eyes and waited for my death.

Nothing happened for a few seconds but suddenly I could feel a cold finger caressing my cheek.

I opened my eyes in a flash and pulled back. I saw that Ifera was staring at me with an interested expression. She brought her hand closer grabbed my chin. She moved my head around and started checking me. I wasn't sure what she was trying to find but I didn't dare oppose her at this point.

"You can't have everything you want in life."

Ifera started into my eyes and said this with a serious tone.

"That child needs to learn that. She cannot be so willful all the time."

I was not sure why she was telling me this. I looked at her in confusion but she seemed to be deliberating something and didn't bother to clear my confusion.

"I have pampered her too much. It is time for her to grow up."

As if she had finished thinking it thought, her eyes focused on me again and I suddenly felt dread. My heart sped up and my body tensed up. But just as I thought I was going to die, the pressure vanished again.

I wasn't sure what had changed since Ifera was still staring at me the same way. I was still in a kneeling position with my arms supporting me while Ifera was crouching in front of me.

"The only thing I can do is take you with me"

"Wha…?"

Before I could respond, Ifera grabbed me under my armpits and stood up while holding me. She placed an arm under me and stood while holding me in this way.

"Where…. Where are you taking me?" I asked with trepidation.

Ifera smiled.

"Away"
