The Great Magic Era

In the world of Aureum there are 3 main continents, the vast Verdant, the ancient Antana and the land of gods, Midrass. Since the fall of the ancient elven empire of Lefheim 5000 years ago, the once unified continent of Verdant was now fractured in many nations, all in constant war with one another, where only the strong can carve it's own place amongst the victors, leaving the weak to be forgoten, only to be found as footnotes in the books of history. Broken heart.

Reaching the middle section, Omar and the others were shocked with the realization that the Dragon's heart wall was also attacked and destroyed, the implications from the facts withnessed by they very own eyes, set the gears on their minds. Having seen the destruction of both the lower and middle sections, led them tho assume the worst.

(What about the upper wall?).

(Has Dragon Pass fallen?).

(Can we even fight back?).

Was what everyone thought, each possibility more frightening than the last.

In that moment, Omar's group was feeling great despair, the fear and desolation was akin to being the last embers of a dying flame about to be snuffed out leaving only darkness and regrets in the form of ashes.

(This is bad, i have to say something, this mood is no good).

Noticing the gloomy atmosphere, Omar took the lead by moving to the front.

"All of you better get a grip" in an akward fashion, Omar got everyone attention.

"Right now isn't the time to be having these pessimistics thoughts that will only led you to your own destruction. Were in the battlefield, even a little distraction can be as dangerous as poison, but only if you let it take root in your mind" filled with worry, Omar said one of his Father's quotes in an attempt to lift the moral of his companions.

"Whazzat?!".

*Pffft*.

"hahah-... Ah wait! Hahaha!".

"Man, that really sucked!".

"Come on guys, don't laugh, can you see he tried hi-... *Giggle*... He tried his best!".

Clearly not expecting their response, in his surprise, Omar felt as if his face was burning, turning completely red due to embarasment.

*Sigh*

"Ahhh! Man, Omar we are all adults here you know? Many of us are even older by more than 10 years, there's no need to treat us like frail children" said one middle aged soldier.

"But I've gotta admit your little stunt really lifted my mood, i haven't had such a good laugh in years" although they were still making fun of him Omar felt relieved to see them like this.

"Better let the talking to the experts, you're deffinitely not cut out for the job" said Julio, putting one hand on his shoulder.

"Let's go, the wall is just in front".

(Maybe he's right) as Omar doubted his skills as an orator, he followed the others and entered the middle section through the colapsed wall.

Once inside, they noticed that simmilar to the Dragon's head, the attack to the heart not only destroyed the wall but part of the main road and at least half of the buildings, a good part of the soldiers and mages estationed in also suffered the same destiny of dying product of the blast.

Those of the middle section were also surprised to see Omar's group, as they were expecting an enemy and not survivors, believing that they were next after the fall of the those bellow.

The surprise lasted only for a short amount of time, as under Omar's guidance they helped to look for the injured and to search for possible survivors among the rubble. Being of little help for the first as most of the injured were already pretty much healed thanks to the mages, leaving only a few with really serious wounds that could only be treated after being stabilized.

Then, it came...

*BOOM* *BOOM*

*BOOM* *BOOM*

*BOOM* *BOOM*

The sounds of explosions, accompanied by equally loud sounds of screams.

Hastly making his way outside of the wall, Omar's group looked down at the Dragon's head, and watched as a trail of flames iluminated the inner gate and the main road of a bright yellow.

With mixed feelings, knowing just what they really represented.

Their friends... Those they considered to be as close as brothers and sisters, were throwing themselves at the enemy, just so they could buy even a little more of time.

They continued to watch for a couple of minutes, until the sound of explosions completely stopped, leaving only the dazzling glow of the raging fire.

It was then that they knew...

From now on, the lives of those who stayed behind were no more.

With hearts filled by rage, Omar and the others swore deep down, that they were going to kill as many as they could, so their friend can finally obtain revenge in the afterlife.

(Claus, everybody... I'm sorry!) Omar thought, clenching his fists.

(If only i were stronger) Omar was devastated, as a great sense of guilt was comsuming him from the inside. He blamed himself, the deaths of his friends was something that he knew it'll follow him for the rest of his life.

--------------------------------------------------------

"I don't see much movement, it seems the ambush was a success" after a couple of minutes, Julio was the first to comment, although he didn't seemed particularly excited about it, as no joy was reflected in his expression or voice.

*Murmur*.

*Murmur*.

"His highness!!".

"Is dangerous here, please you have to scape your highness, we are under attack".

Suddenly the sounds of hushed conversations along with people shouting alerted Omar of the arrival of Prince Felix.

(Hmmn?... Prince Felix and... The guys from the upper section?).

(Ahh! Teacher is also here, in fact, al of the Prince's guards are) feeling confused, Omar didn't expected to see the the prince, and was quite surprised by their presence.

(So the enemy only attaked the mid and lower sections, huh? It makes sense, whatever they used to blow up the wall must be pretty expensive if not, with how wealthy the Dynasty is they would've razed the whole fortress to the ground already) seeing those from the upper section, relieved Omar as he originally believed that the attack reached all 3 walls.

(With such an attack coming out of nowhere, I'm sure it also took the Prince by surprise).

(Even so his response was fast) throught Omar as he watched the potions and medicine the Prince brought with him.

(Clearly he came with the intent to help as many as possible, probably he could've even tried to help those of the lower section if he had the time. Obviously he is trying to bring everyone back to the Dragon's tail).

(I only know how to fight, I'm not strategist, and the art of war isn't my forte) were Omar thoughts as he approached the Prince.

(If we want to survive, we'll need someone like the second Prince) reaching to Felix, he was stopped by his guards before he could get any closer.

"Please keep your distance!" Said the guard, wearing a dark red armor with silver patterns, his right hand holding a long spear while his left carried a black round shield, in which a crow, blood red in color was portrayed.

Seeing as he couldn't approach, Omar simply bowed in the Prince's direction and said in a loud voice:

"Prince Felix, his highness. My name is Omar Devaltan, I've brought some news from the enemy side"

"Hmmn!?".

"Devaltan?..." Said the prince in surprise.
