#Chapter39
Spending time together
Payton
I wanted to spend time with Josie without interruptions. I picked her up and drove until I turned onto a dirt road, pulling up to a spot. I parked the car and got out.
/"Where are we?/" Josie asked, getting out of the car.
I popped the trunk then pulled out a blanket and picnic basket, closing the trunk lid.
/"I thought we could have a picnic without dealing with my family,/" I mentioned, making Josie smile.
We walked over to the grass, and I set the basket down. I opened the blanket and laid it on the grass as we both sat down. I lifted the lid and pulled out sandwiches, snacks, and drinks.
/"Look at you, Mr. Romantic,/" Josie teased.
/"Well, my girl brings out my romantic side,/" I flirted as Josie’s cheeks turned a faint pink. I love I could make her blush.
We ate and talked.
/"It must be hard being the oldest of your family,/" Josie mentioned.
