She Don Come Again!

Everyone in LANs Beauty Parlour looked neat and ready for work on a Tuesday morning. A lady walks in, her heels made clicking sounds. A young man welcomed her and took her bag. He led her to the space they now tag as the waiting hall. They even have a proper reception desk and a receptionist. But the lady did not bother to go to the reception desk. Judging from the way she looked and the way she was being treated, she most be someone important. And what more, she was spelling rich in the air.

“She don come again! I no like this aunty, she too de raise shoulder. (She’s here again! I do not like her, she is too proud)”. Uduak said to Ebitari in a low tune so that the lady does not hear her.

Just then Lanre walks in. She saw the lady seated in the waiting room.

“Good morning!” Lanre said directing her greeting to the lady seated in front of her. The lady looked round and then she looks at Lanre.

“Oh! You were greeting me? I did not realise that”. The lady said. They she turned her face to the side. She beckoned on the young man who helped her carry her bag.

“Where is your madam? I thought she said she will come early today? I have a meeting I must attend this evening. I need a full make over and she’s not here?” The lady said. Uduak covered her mouth with her hand at the corner where she was.

“The last time this lady came here, madam was not around and tis lady said it was either madam or nobody else and madam was out of town. So Sharon pretended to be madam. Now madam is here and she’s shouting in front of madam”. Uduak said out loud.

“Cut!” A voice came from the corner.

“You guys are flawless! Miss Lanre, you did a good job as well. I’m glad we decided to use your beauty parlour in the movie rather than making hose of you and your team behind the scene only as makeup crew”. The director said. Lanre smiled at him. She told him she’s the one who is supposed to thank him since by using the Beauty Parlour in the movie, they would be making it famous and she would be getting a lot of clients after this film has been made.

The director told them it was time to take the next scene and everyone should take their position and wait for him to say action.

On action, Aaron walked in. He walked straight to the lady who was asking for the madam. He looked at Lanre standing there looking at the lady with her arms crossed. He greeted Lanre. She looks at him and sighed. She told him to handle the lady and walked to her office. Aaron asked the woman to follow him if she wants to be attended to.

“Not until your madam comes”. She said.

“She just went inside. She’s the lady that was standing in front of you”. Aaron replied. The lady looked at Aaron wide eyed and confused.
