Fun

Lanre agreed to what he said as a fact. He asked her where she would love to go next and that if she does not give him an answer before the countdown of three, he will be the one to choose the next place they will visit. Lanre hurriedly told him she didn’t planned for this so she had no option to choose from.

“ShopRite it is then! Ikeja, here we come”. Christian said. Lanre asked him what they would be doing in ShopRite. Christian grinned and gave her a wink. Then he told her they were going to have fun.

She asked him why he picked the one at Ikeja. Christian told her that was the only place that came to his mind. They got to ShopRite at Ikeja, it was what Lanre would naturally not want to do they had gone to do. They played games and cycled. Then after playing different games they decided to go watch a movie. They did spend the entire day having fun they did not realise when it got dark.

“F for F**K!” Lanre said laughing. She told him it was already 9 pm and her mind is still living in the newness of the day. Christian bit his lips. She was happy and he was happy. How he wished this could go on forever. But now that she mentioned the time, they were surely riding back to reality.

Christian dropped Lanre off. He helped her park her car inside. He breathed in relief knowing that the car was safe. He was so excited that he forgot to park the car in the compound before they left. He told Lanre good night and left.

Lanre was done having fun, but she was still living those moments as she kept humming and dancing as though she had been answered as the winner in a competition. And all she could do is make people see how she enjoys winning. She took her bath and went to bed a happy woman.

Lanre woke up early the next day feeling refreshed. She ordered for Uber and hurriedly took her bath and dressed up for the day. She went to work and for the first time, she greeted everyone with a smile. After working till noon, she ordered in pizzas and ice-cream. When the order arrived, she told everyone there she was doing it in celebration of the new car someone gave her for a congratulatory gift. The workers were genuinely happy for her.

“E be like say na that guy when de come here every time o! ( It’s like it is the young man who is always coming here)” Uduak whispered into Sharon’s ears. Sharon eyes her disapprovingly. Then she walked away from Uduak’s side. She was not ready to gossip with her. What if Lanre notices? She had thought. Sharon had made up her mind to be in Lanre’s very good side. The closer she can draw near to Lanre and be more closer than the rest, the better it will be for her.
