A Blessed Mystery (2)

"I have no idea where we are." Clain and Kavira had been flying all night, it seemed like a good idea at first so that they could reach Linx and Nyla but they ended up getting lost. The sun was just appearing on the east when Clain decided to set down and eat. He needed time for the sun to fully shine bright on the land with it he could determine where they were exactly.

Kavira didn't argue, she was hoping to reach the Blessed Forrest by now but she was forbidden from using her powers. If anyone were to see her using magic, her and the rest of the groupl wouldn't be able to be at peace for they would be hunted and possibly purged. "I'll feed Hip." Kavira volunteered and quickly looked through the food bag to find some stale bread.

A few minutes later the food was ready and the sun was much brighter than before. "Once we are done we have to head west, we flew too far east. It's going to take us a few hours before we reach the entrance of the Blessed Forrest, we'll probably be there by late afternoon."

Kavira didn't appreciate the lack of communication going on between them so she decided to talk about what had happened the day before. "Yesterday you were shot by an arrow while we were trying to run away from those hunters. Hip got scared and decided to land after that I tried to save you by taking the arrow and burning your wound but when I turned my finger into a small flame the rest of your body burned, the wound healed itself but your clothes burnt along with the leaves." Kavira took a drink of water before continuing. "I tried to wake you up but you pulled me into your arms instead, you wouldn't let me go and you seemed really tired. I stopped trying to wake you up and just fell asleep with you."

Kavira's face was so red that Clain couldn't help but smile. Clain wasn't about to accuse her of being a pervert because he enjoyed having her by his side. "I just don't want this awkward silence between us anymore."

Clain now understood why she was explaining the situation. "What happened yesterday doesn't have anything to do with that. It has to do with the fact that I had the chance to--."

Kavira put her hand over his mouth and with the other hand she put her index finger over her mouth telling him to be quiet. Clain didn't know why Kavira was telling him to keep quiet until he heard the footsteps out in the woods. He was a true warrior that could hear these things, so why did Kavira, someone who wasn't even a true warrior yet, hear it before he did?

They quickly put their things away in silence and mounted Hip. The men were about to reach the camp when they realized that no one was there anymore. A recently turned off fire was smoking out but no one was left in sight.

Linx had gone into the Forrest as soon as he woke up to try and find some food to eat. They had split up with Clain who had the food bag and they couldn't wait any longer to eat, their insides and Jacko's were desperate for some food which led Linx to be in the situation he was in.

In an hour he was only able to gather a few berries and some mushrooms, it wasn't a lot but it would have to do for now. When he traveled back to camp at the entrance of the Forrest he saw Nyla talking to a small bird. At first he thought it was cute, his sister was playing with a little bird but then he realized that she was having a full blown conversation with this tiny creature.

He watched as she interacted with the bird and the bird responding to her. "Lord Yoru is looking for you."

"I told that old man to give up. I'm not interested in him, being a hunter was boring." Nyla threw her blonde hair back over her shoulders with an irritating attitude.

"He has Dalton scouting for you. You need to leave before he finds you." The bird was a small colorful baby bird with black eyes. "I only came because I owed you for saving my life. If the Lord ever finds out I came to warn you he would have me killed."

Nyla petted the bird. "Then why don't you stay. It's not like Lord Yuro would ever treat you any better."

The small bird appreciated Nyla's kindness but she couldn't stay. Her family was all under the command of Lord Yuro and she couldn't just leave without them.

"I'll be leaving. Take care Nyla." The little bird chirped away heading south.

"I didn't know you could talk to birds." Linx said it in a joking manner but Nyla knew him better than that.

"How much did you hear?" Nyla wasn't one to avoid a direct answer so she asked a very direct question.

"All of it. From you joining this Lord Yoru and being a hunter to you telling him you weren't interested and that someone named Dalton is looking for you." Linx watched as Nyla nodded, she stood up to face him. Looking him straight in the eyes she shifted her body into water.

Her body had become invisible, but Linx could see the water she had become. He was shocked, but how? When?

"I didn't know I could do this until I saved that little bird you just saw.. seven months ago."
