Prologue (3)

"What would your background be?"

Magnus started to think about it, however, no matter how long he did he could not think of something consistent. Every time an idea pops up in his head, it would be discarded a moment later after weighting the cons of that thought process. He noticed that the 'old man' started to become impatient as if something terrible would happen if he delayed any more time.

Magnus's curiosity wanted him to stay and see what would happen but his mind was telling him something else.

'If even the thing that's about to happen can stress this higher being out then it got to be life-threatening for a simple human being like me!' Thinking that far, Magnus demanded:

"To a more effective answer, I would like you to divide that question into several ones so that I can develop it more efficiently! It's about my background so we should not take it lightly" The 'old man' nodded his head and with a snap of his fingers one blank piece of paper and a pencil appeared on his hands. Without wasting any more time he asked the first question.

"What surname would you like to have in this new world?" Magnus took some time to contemplate and finally chose to keep his former surname 'Swayer'

"How much power would you like your family to be?" Magnus thought about it. The majority of the stories he had read back on Earth showcased the main character to come from a broken family or be an orphan and with heaven-defying luck find someone strong as a master to climb through the ranks and be the strongest.

Unfortunately, Magnus didn't want that scenario to happen! He did not like being looked down upon or face slapping other people, and that was not even why he didn't choose something like that. Who would choose to be born in a poor family or be an orphan if you really had the chance to choose? Come on!

"I want to be born in one of the two families that hold the most power in the entire mass of land you're going to send me to. Plus, I want to be the only person that can inherit the family head seat doing that will help me get full attention from my family members and have a swift road towards greatness.

Also, I want my family to be loyal, harmonious towards each other, and kind to other people without being naif enough to be used by others. Even in the harsh moments, I want them to be harmonious and stop each other in the back" The old man nodded and thought of something before writing the information.

"In other words, you want to have a father, who doesn't have siblings that love you, it's doable! Your initial request can't be done because nobody knows what a human being might do in face of danger, well only The Creator can know about that!" Magnus nodded and thought that it made sense, that's why they say 'You can see a real man when he is in a crisis!'

"That makes sense to me! What's the next question?"

"You kind of answered three questions at the same time so it will help us hasten this QR. The next question is: At what time would you want to take over your body?"

"As soon as I'm born, of course! If I take over later some people may suspect me for having a change of character. That will only bring unnecessary problems, plus I want to take full advantage of my childhood to make a great foundation for future growth!" The old man nodded and wrote something down before continuing.

"This is the last question! Would you want your family members to be affiliated with one of the deities? If yes, Who?"

This time Magnus took a little more time to think about it. 'If all the mythical gods that supposedly existed back on Earth are higher beings, then it would be could to be the descendent of one of them! But the problem is who would I choose' Magnus thought about but could settle down with an answer. There were many supposed gods from different regions on Earth, from the African gods to the Greek gods and Asian gods. Plus he had heard a lot of stories about the powers of those gods. If those are true then only choosing is impossible.

'I can ask this old man for some advice!'

"Can you give me some suggestions about deities who kind of match the mindset I want my family members to have? Like, someone who can respect others but will never let them disrespect him, someone who is cautious but never runs from a battle and someone who has a lot of power but does not see the powerless as some chess pieces they can discard whenever they want." The old man looked at Magnus and seemed to be contemplating. After some time, he looked back Magnus and said:

"I have up to three people who match that description. The first one I can think of is Hephaestus, he is the best Blacksmith in all of the seven heavens, and is kind to people who respect not because of his fame but because of his true nature as a being.

The second one is Hades, the ruler of death. Many of you have weird misconceptions about him, he is the ruler of death but that doesn't mean that he is a bad person. Hades is one of the most amiable people I have ever met and when I said the ruler of death that means that his powers are orientated towards necromancy like you usually call it. Also, he is antisocial and does not like to hang around a lot of people.

The third one is Ares, the strongest 1v1 fighter in all of the seven heavens. He is not a very likable man since he has a tick for enraging people, but at least he does not look down on others and always treat them on equal footage.

So, what would be your choice?" Magnus contemplated the choices

'If I choose Hephaestus then my family would be orientated towards weapon and armor production. however, I like using my hand better so it would not amount to much for me. On this contrary, having necromancy powers will pretty useful since my summons would not betray me. But, I like fighting by myself without anyone interfering, a fair 1v1 one fight is one of the things that can make me kind of happy so choosing Ares would the best Idea. People used to call me a battle junkie back on Earth, I guess that's true!' Magnus looked at the 'old man' and said with conviction:

"I choose to become Are's descendant! Now, in which plane would you reincarnate me to?"

"Didn't I already say it? You're going to be reincarnated in the second heaven. from there on you can make you way up to here! I'm going to transfer you... right away!" And without being able to say anything, Magnus felt all of his senses go numb as he fell into an unconscious state.

As soon as Magnus departed, the old man sighed and snapped his fingers, an action that made every material in the room disappear. He looked at the door when suddenly three people barged in, each of them carrying a different demeanor.

The first one to enter the room was a strong, imposing old man with long white curly hair and a long white beard. He had a buffed body that did not quite fit for an older person, he entered the room with haste and started looking around as if he was looking for something. Unable to find anything, he looked at the 'higher being' Magnus met before and spoke.

"Zenit, I thought I saw the soul of that young lad. Where is it?" Zenit, the old man that was talking to Magnus looked back at the buffed old man and answered his question.

"I already sent him back to the second plane. I did not want you all to see him so I pressured him to hurry up! Especially you, Zeus." Zeus looked fiercely at the old man for some time before he started laughing loudly.

"This kid has the mark of the Kings in his souls, so bringing him to our side is the best idea. Good job Zenit, for once you are useful, HaHaHaHa!!!" Zeus remarked making a vein pop up in Zenit's forehead. After calming himself down, Zenit looked at the other two people standing behind Zeus and asked:

"Perseus, Apollo, Where are Ares and Poseidon?"

"They are in the front lines fighting against the enemy, I was preparing to head there before I sensed the soul of that kid head to your place so I immediately headed here!" Apollo answered before turning around to get out of that room.

"I'll be going, If we don't take over that place today Hades might be forced to come out of seclusion before advancing!" As soon as he said that, Apollo transformed into particles of light and disappeared from there view.

"I'm supposed to defend the West-side our territory so I might as well go before anything happens. Oh! Zenit, make sure to protect the kid without hindering his growth. If anything happens to him we will all come for your head!!!" Zenit gulped down a bit of saliva when he sensed the high killing intent emitted by Perseus.

"Hahahaha... You were scared shitless by this little brat of mine! But seriously if anything happens to the little guy I won't be able to guarantee you security!" After Perseus made his way out of the room, Zeus commented while laughing but suddenly his voice turned cold as he gazed at Zenit. Making sure that the latter nodded his head, Zeus laughed loudly before transforming into lightning and making his way out of the room.

Zenit shook his head violently as he tried to forget the threats he had just received while thinking:

'Why the f*ck did I involve myself with this little kid?'
