The Shadow and The Festival Part One

It actually has been three months since the Kanzaki incident. I on the other hand been doing well, I managed to get my grades up since I skipped a lot of school works. Though at least I managed to save someone during that time.

I was at home and I was actually resting.

Nope, I am actually just lazing around.

I was tired because of school stuff, I needed a break but today is very important, why? Because, today is culture festival preparation.

"Kagami-san! Breakfast is ready! "

Somehow Aiko-san has been taking care of me and acting like my mom, it felt weird but it was nothing new. I wanted to sleep a bit more though, I closed my eyes and tried to ignore everything.

Dream…Figure….Death…Shadow.

Shadow…Shadow? The shadow that I saw from the pole last time, I was sure that I saw it, It had a humanoid figure, a figure of a man. A tall man in a black suit with a unpleasant smile. It felt like it was after me, after my soul. As far as I know, Aiko-san is the only ghost I have seen.

Wait, ghosts and shadows. I have seen unnatural things with my eyes, what is wrong with my eyes anyway.

I should have investigated about my sight when I helped Aiko-san on how to wander around freely as she likes. That lady did look at me with such sight though, I did not understand it but I felt something odd from her. Not only that, the shadow I saw then had a bad aura like it wants to devour things.

It frightens me…

It scares me to death when I see that face of his, his unpleasant smile, his big dead eyes and his messy hair. His stare would pierce to your very soul and you would feel the chill that will travel through your spine. As he stares at you, you would shake and kneel down then you would let him eat you until you do not exist.

"I WILL DEVOUR YOU UNTIL YOU WILL CEASE TO EXIST!!! "

Not only his raspy voice can I hear but his sinister chuckle as well. I could hear them as if it would echo around my ears. I need to wake up!

Wake up from this nightmare!

Wake up Yuuta!

"Yuu-chan! "

I woke up from my slumber, sweating and gasping. I am awake, I am alive, I am safe. Kanao was looking at me while she had a face that tells me that she is worried. I looked at her as I apologized, I tried to reassure her that I am okay. Though we were still holding hands which I did not realized.

"S-sorry about that"

"It is alright…"

Both of us were flustered as our cheeks were almost beet red.

As Aiko-san was checking us up, she had this smirk on her face that she just left. She misunderstood something!

Kanao went ahead downstairs as I got ready for school, though the event early was still making me flustered. As I dried and changed into my uniform, I went ahead downstairs to check on them, Aiko-san was still giving me the teasing look as I ate breakfast while blushing.

We went ahead to school while both Kanao and I had this weird awkwardness between us. We were both looking away from each other as we walked to school, Aiko-san was giving this teasing look that made me even feel weird.

"Good morning! "

Kanzaki bowed a bit as she greeted to us by the front gate. Kanzaki was a bit different today, she does not have that gloomy look anymore and she smiles a lot now, her hair style was different too, she seemed to have fixed it more.

She looks more cute too!

"Good morning Kanzaki"

"Good morning"

Kanao greeted the same way as she did as we went ahead to class.

As soon as our teacher began homeroom, she began to tell us that today was culture festival preparation day. Most of us were planning to have our class as a maid café. Some decided as a haunted house kind of theme. I honestly do not have any kind of preference to give so I stayed silent.

"Yuu-chan? "

Kanao called out as I looked at her.

"Did you think of something? "

Everyone looked at me and I was now doomed, I did not think of any plan at all. Nope, my head was completely blank.

It was bad timing but everyone is expecting it. What the heck am I supposed to say????

"A music band?... "

My classmates stares at me for a while, I was scared a bit because of how I just blurted out of the blue and I do not even know if anyone can play an instrument!

"Oh great idea! "

"Yeah! I can play a piano"

"I can do the drums!!! "

Everyone was happy about it as I sighed in relief. Kanao smiled at me as Aiko-san who was floating above me gave thumbs up. We decided on being a band, some of us are going to play and some of us were on the management on a lot of stuff like the lights, outfits, audio, and guests.

I do not know how to play any instrument not to mention sing, Kanao will sing though since she has a great voice. One musician was missing though, a guitarist was missing and since everyone was occupied by their given roles.

They chose me.

Once everything was done and decided. I went up to the rooftop, I sulked and I got worried because I do not know how to play a guitar!

"Aiko-san…what should I do??? "

"Hmmm, how about calling for help from a friend? "

"Who? I do not know any one who ca-"

I suddenly remembered someone. Not a living being though, a ghost like Aiko-san. A ghost who loves music than like everyone else. He knows a lot of instruments too, we encountered him during the time where we, Aiko-san and I were looking for a way to get her freedom.

"Ah, Tatsumi-kun! He can help me with my problem! "

As soon as the first part of the preparation for the culture festival has ended we went home and I went to the train station with Aiko-san. We were heading for the home of that Lady that helped Aiko-san. We went off the train once we reached our destination. Once we stepped on the station, the lights flickered and a shadow appeared.

Aiko-san and I saw the shadow, it appeared right before our eyes.

I saw the unpleasant smile from that shadow, the eyes of that shadow grew big as if it was going to pop out.

"FOUND YOU!!! "

Aiko-san and I shivered in fear but I was worse, I could not move at all, I could not speak at all. The shadow came closer and closer as it was engulfing my own shadow.

Like it was going to devour me.

My spine shivers from the stare of the shadow. My legs tremble as I felt like froze in time, as the shadow gets even closer, I could feel like I could die in any moment now.

It may be my end today!.....No, it probably is the end
