Chapter [4] Adaptive Savant

The goblin swiftly approached me, displaying a speed unmatched by any of the goblins previously.

The goblin left me with little opportunity to react, but fortunately my bat was already in a defensive stance.

The goblin's small blade forcefully struck my bat, suggesting that the goblin was somewhat stronger than me since I found it difficult to withstand the goblin's force.

I need to hurry and use my skill points or this could turn out badly!

The blade of the goblin gradually started to penetrate my bat, causing my body to strain and lean back from the struggle.

Although Weak Goblins and Normal Goblins are both frequently encountered, Normal Goblins possess notably greater strength and employ a fighting technique resembling that of a rogue.

In addition, its distinctive abilities and a unique skill that should not be overlooked....

Then out of nowhere, the goblin disappeared from my view, causing me to swiftly shift my attention to the left and lift my bat that had been slightly damaged.

-Woosh!

With astonishing speed, the goblin swiftly dashed to my left and swung its blade.

As expected, It uses Rapid Movements!

-Clinggg

The goblin's sword bounced off my bat after an awkward strike, causing its body to also recoil a few paces.

I had a feeling it would use Rapid Movements, a basic skill utilized for swiftly traveling or moving at high speeds for a brief duration.

I believe I came across a forum post discussing this skill before, where it mentioned the capability of reaching speeds of up to 300 miles per hour.

It might seem overpowered, but it leaves openings to take advantage of and compared to its counterparts, Flashstep and Vanishingstep, it's laughable.

Once more, the goblin straightened itself up and directed an annoyed and furious gaze towards me.

"Arghh Hr!"

The goblin had unusually large fangs exposed towards me and was making aggressive noises, as if arguing with me.

"It's pointless... I know all your attack patterns and moves.."

"After all, I know Enhanced Adventure like the back of my hand."

As if the goblin seemed to perceive my arrogant remarks, it angerily used Rapid Movements once more to attack me.

A suddenly popup appeared.

The goblin approached directly this time, which was not surprising to me at all.

With Rapid Movements, the goblin swung its blade backwards and then struck with immense force.

As I had foreseen in my mind, the goblin's attack followed the path that I had anticipated, becoming reality as it swung its blade towards me from the right in an attempt to slash me.

-BASH

I swung my bat and successfully defended against the goblin's attack, even though it was using Rapid Movements. This confirmed my prediction that the goblin's speed was useless if it's attack patterns was foreseen.

To the left.

The goblin swiftly switched his blade to it's left hand and attempted to slice off my neck, but I promptly ducked down from the attack.

-Flick!

Next it's going to attempt to attack me with a slashing uppercut.

As anticipated, I lifted my head and body after crouching to avoid the previous assault, and the goblin swiftly attempted to slash me from below.

-WHOOSH

I moved my body backward to avoid it, and the sharp edge of the blade narrowly missed my face, coming only a few inches away.

The goblin proceeded to unleash a continuous series of slashes and attacks, all of which I anticipated and evaded successfully.

It is likely because of that sudden popup, but I somehow I'm able to predict all the Goblin attacks in my mind before they even occurred.

I couldn't resist but display a proud smile. Who could blame me? Who would have thought I would come across somthing new to me.

Is this a some kind of Class Skill? Whatever it is, it complements my extensive knowledge of attack patterns very well.

The goblin swung its blade in a direct assault, once again I managed to avoid it. However, this time the goblin suddenly paused almost as if it got paralyzed.

With a firm hold on my bat, I pulled it back while commenting, "Dumbass! If you continue to use Rapid Movements for an extended period beyond its intended time, it will temporarily weaken and negatively impact your body."

"But let me stop acting as if I didn't plan for this to happen!"

-SLAMMMM

I forcefully swung my bat with maximum effort, causing it to strike the goblin's jaw with a powerful impact.

-CR CRAA CRACK!

The goblin's jaw broke as a result of a strong blow while it was in a highly vulnerable state.

The creature's head shot upward as its jaw separated from its skull, causing it to grimace in agony.

"Arghhh!" With a pained expression, it let out a scream while clutching its jaw.

The goblin faced me, its jaw swinging as its head shifted.

A tear trickled down the goblin's cheekbones, while its eyes burned with intense fiery.

It looks like even monsters can cry.

The goblin once again employed Rapid Movements to move towards me, but this time was different.

"Gotcha."

The goblin quickly approached where I was, but for some reason, when he gotten to where I was, I had vanished.

"Behind you."

With a gradual turn, the goblin rotated its head, its eyes expanding in disbelief as it noticed me standing right behind it, my bat already in motion towards its face.

-SLAM!

The goblin was helpless as my bat was already just a few inches from its face, and with a loud noise, it devastatingly collided with the goblin's face.

It's face was distorted and squashed as the bat left a significant imprint.

The eyes of the goblin rolled up and it fell to the ground in a slowly.

I'm sure you're all curious about what happened and how I was able to utilize Rapid Movements.

In simple terms, the process involves analyzing and gradually taking the skills used by Classes or even monsters. By adapting to my enemy, it becomes easier for me to understand and learn them. Additionally, I am able to mimic and acquire the skills used by my opponent.

The more advanced the skill, its rarity and complexity can influence the time it would take for me to analyze and ultalize it.

Some skills may even need requirements before I can take them.

You would need to be highly intelligent and possess strategic smarts to prolong a battle and force your opponent to use those skills, which is what I accomplished.

Should people start calling me Einstein or what?!
