Einar's Favour: Part Two

As soon as Esme's trainers hit the grass at the outskirts of Chester, she set off at a run with Marcus following closely behind her. The she-wolf had been quiet after collecting her friend, and he knew her well enough that she was deep in thought even while her eyes scanned the woods on high alert, her brows furrowed in concentration. Esme knew Gabriel had sent his men after them as an extra precaution, though she and Marcus acted like they didn't notice them. Once they entered the woods, though, they would lose them; it was unintentional, but something Esme and Marcus couldn't avoid unless the vampires ran beside them. Which they wouldn't do; they were meant to be discreet and not to reveal themselves, but the ex Hellhounds were professionals.
