chapter 3

So before we start I just stopped uploading and I'm sorry about it.

the reason for me starting this again is that I got inspired by reading a supernatural fanfic on this site and it got me fired up to start writing again, the fanfic name if you wondering is called Travelling Through Horror Cinema, start with supernatural.

hopefully, I can start writing consistently again, and I'll try to do a small amount a day to keep up, anyway I hope you enjoy this new chapter I have written. :D

The ice pricing into Alex's legs causing him to fall, Alex screamed in pain, blood spatter coating the once perfect white snow, sapphire flying off his shoulders a small distance away.

Kira " ALEX!!, SAPPHIRE!!"

Kira once again charges a basic mana blast towards the snowwoman, stunning it for a second. Kira then runs towards Alex, picking him up and running towards Sapphire.

An ice spike brushes past Kira's side, causing her to wince in pain, but powering through she gets to Sapphire who is picking up some morning dew grass in her mouth.

Kira scoops Sapphire up next to Alex and continues to run south back to the village.

Sapphire still with the morning dew grass in her mouth, chews it and momma birds it into Alex's mouth. This allows the morning dew to lessen the pain he is feeling in his legs, while also numbing Sapphire's mouth in the process.

Kira ran through the forest, dodging trees and ice spikes, while the enraged snow women chased her prey that dared run away from her.

After a gruelling couple of minutes of running and dodging obstacles, sadly she is still a bit away from the village, she decides to look back(we all know that is never a good idea) and as she does so, she is unable to dodge one of the ice spikes, hitting her in the eye.

This causes Kira to lose balance and fall over, once again dropping sapphire and jack onto the snow, which softens the blow with a Crunching sound.

Kira "Why didn't I bring my staff, it holds all my power, I can't believe I made such a rookie mistake… what do I do, I need to make sure Sapphire and Alex are safe, what do I do."

"One sword style, 20-pound moon cannon"

Skannon's voice can be heard as a sudden air pressure hits the snowwoman, shooting her into a tree and stunning the enraged snowwoman for a short time.

Skannon " Kira, here this" as he provides Kira with three small vials containing health potions.

Kira takes the three vials, piping the Cork and giving one to Alex. Alex's wounds close rapidly leaving him with ripped trouser bottoms where the ice spikes hit him and blood covering his now fresh legs.

Kira then takes a potion and her eye injury and side jury disappear.

Skannon helps Kira up "Quickly head home, I'll deal with the snow woman, we will talk later ok."

Kira then runs off with Alex and Saphire leaving skannon alone with the snowwoman, as she watches her prey getting away, she screeches in annoyance, gearing towards skannon.

Skannon stood calmly, as he took out another sword from a ring he was wearing, the swords were black, one having red engraving along the blade with the other having purple engraving along the blade.

Skannon puts his mama through the blades, powering the engravings, and causing them to glow, flames burst forth from the left blade while the right blade seemingly starts to bend slightly as skannon takes a stance with his two blades pointing directly to the right of him.

"Two sword style, mountain cutter!"

As. Skannon seems to teleport behind the snowwoman, he then pits away his swords inside his ring.

There are suddenly two massive gashes that appear along the ground. The snowwoman is in two pieces, along with a white and black orb that falls out of the snowwoman's mid-drift.

Skannon" I'm sorry for what you went through, and I'm sorry you were not avenged but you targeted my family, you had to be taken care of, rest in peace.

A bit later

Kira" Alex, sapphire you two rest here for a bit ok, I need to talk with Dad, we both will be close by ok?

Alex" ok mum" as he holds onto Sapphire who is curled in his arms, attempting to help calm Alex.

Kira then walks out of the bedroom and walks to skannon.

Skannon" Kira I said doing that mana contract was a bad idea, why did you do it?

Kira" I did it because I needed more power to protect myself, I "

Skannon" And what good did it do when you forget your staff, the thing you bound all your power to leaving you defenceless without it, yes it made it so you are extremely powerful with your staff but as you just experienced, you can't do anything without it.

Kira" I I "

Skannon" Never mind, you know why I'm mad, it's because I care for all of you, so… come here." skannon holds his arms out for a hug.

A couple of days later

Kira" Sapphire, Alex come here I have the items I was gonna give you from before."

A couple of seconds later Sapphire and Alex come charging sounding like a herd of elephants.

Alex" What is it, what is it."

Sapphire jumped up and down next to Alex.

Kira" So for you Alex, Me and Dad will be gifting you a magical wooden sword that will grow with you, it also help with your learning the basics of swordsmanship a bit easier."

"For you Sapphire, me and Dad have gotten you some materials that should help you evolve to your next stage.

Kira then hands over the wooden sword to Alex and as for sapphire, Kira asks her to follow her as she is going to help with the evolving process.

The process went smoothly as Sapphire was lying on the ground with the items around her, the items consisted of a low-level mana stone( F rank) a spiritual stone(that helps stabilise the spiritual side(stopping it from causing internal da, age from going berserk from the sudden increase of spiritual power within the body), morning dew grass( to help with any comfort) and an ice core( to help develop her ice affinity) the items slowly went into her body, this makes the process of evolving a lot faster as they can normally do it with time alone, but this can take years( normally 5 to 6 for the first evolution), depending on the stage and what they are or are not doing can change how long it takes.

With sapphire evolution being assisted with said items it allows her to go through her first evolution. The physical changes involve her growing by a couple of inches both width and length, her eyes going more icy blue, her fur becoming more fluffy and soft, but also becoming slightly more tough, and her claws and fangs growing slightly and a tiny bit more sturdy. On the spiritual side, her soul becomes slightly stronger, and it can produce an extremely weak pressure if used a certain way( sadly this pressure cannot be used in any aggressive way as it can barely move grass, but for sapphire to have any type of pressure at this age is extremely rare in kitsune and will assist in her mama core forming and stopping any weak evil spirit from attaching them self or attaching her.

Time skip :) (I'm bad at pacing and don't know how to pass time :/ )

Around 9 months have passed

Sapphire" So I'm still a fox, that's not a bad thing as I'm cute.

h I have grown a bit so I'm not a bit bigger, nothing amazing though, I have gotten hungry so that's something… oh Alex has started staring with Dad properly now with basic calisthenic and some swordsmanship, wooden swordsmanship and of course it nice to watch.

I watch because I am trying to memorise what they do so when I get my human body I can start straight away, well that's my plan anyway, not sure what my mum wants, maybe magic training or something.

Mum has been giving us stories about the outside world and all that, mainly about how to ID all the magic stuff and edible foods from the land for survival stuff, and also a bit about the world map and stuff.

For some reason, I have had this warm feeling in my stomach for a couple of weeks now, this happened after a bit of meditation as with the mention of cores, the first thing I thought of was beginning after the end so I thought I'd copy what the Mc did and meditate to try and get a mana core quicker than other, and it feels like it's joining together, maybe in a couple of days it will fully become one and something will happen… like my mama core! But my parents sadly doubt that as Mum and Dad say it will only emerge when I'm like five or something.

Oh and for some reason soon after my first evolution, I have been able to see into the spiritual Vail or whatever and I can see small spirits and stuff, and of course, I help them out when I can, I even help out a lost human soul of a nice looking woman, she seems kinda familiar for some reason but that doesn't matter, after helping her out I swear my spiritual side increase ever so slightly like minimal but I still felt it, and I have to say, it felt really refreshing for so reason.

Oh right, my stats could be helpful…. Here you go then I guess.

{this is the physical force/pressure that a person's spiritual power creates when released. Almost everything has spiritual power but not many know of its existence and even fewer can actually use it or even feel it}

{this allows the user to adapt to their environment allowing them to survive for longer without help, this skill allows the user to gain skills and resistances for defence and survival easier but this is not 100% though and the user can still die if left in a dangerous environment or the threat damaged/kills the user to quickly}( this is not like the JJK thing it takes time to develop skills and stuff this just allows it to happen faster and they can live in the more stressful area before longer before suffering permanent damage, hopefully, that clears something up.)

{Konso}

{Another name for this is called soul burial this is a skill/technique that allows you to help spirits pass on, it can be used in many ways like on the hilt of a sword, by touching the spirit with your hands or by writing the symbol on a talisman. This only works if the spirit is willing to go and cannot force it, you need another method if you want to force the spirit to pass on.} (I would add a picture of the symbol but I can find a picture of it, its the thing from bleach.)

{soul sight}

{this allows the welder to see into the spirit Vail and see spirits and other spiritual things without seas spiritual being actively showing itself. There is a downside though as a good amount of these spiritual beings can look quite displeasing and can cause some people to go mad.

The reason for that is that you can actually hear them as well as see the spirits and they aren't always nice.}

{soul language }

This allows you to speak and understand the voices of creatures that speak with the soul, normally ghosts, this makes it less mad-inducing as you can understand what they are saying instead of unknown words.)

{the +1 means you have had a minor evolution and because of your bloodline you need to increase it to +5 before going into a new realm/ evolution, this will allow you to go into a human form and gain most abilities of your race. The higher the + before evolving fully the stronger the racial ability will be when acquired.}

{A Prestige class, this is a very rare and hard-to-acquire class that most will never encounter and if unlocked will provide an enormous power boost or if not straight away will grant the user the potential to become extremely strong.}

One more thing, I when I to the basement, this is what happened.

Flashback (ﾟ∀ﾟ)

Sapphire was playing in the snow with Alex, they were playing hide and seek, and it was Alex's turn to seek.

So sapphire when looking for a place to hide, goes around to the back of the house and hides behind a couple of barrels placed there, only to discover a not-so-hidden door behind the barrels.

Being curious with all the power her small fox body could muster she slightly opens the basement doors.

Sapphire slipped into the open doors she created and went into the dark basement.

The basement stairs were made of concrete/rock and were cold to the touch, there were no touches or light sources except for the sunlight coming from the open door, which wasn't much.

At the bottom of the stairs, it opens up into a large room, with many boxes, chests and old furnished most likely used when we are low on firewood or something.

What Sapphire didn't see was talismans attached to the rock walls right after the stairs, creating an invisible barrier.

After wandering around and seeing nothing interesting she spotted a small wooden box with symbols carved into it and around the wooden box, a magic barrier around that.

Sapphire's curiosity peaked at that moment and attempted to touch the magic barrier, her paw going right through and touching the box.

Little did Sapphire know this was going to be an even greater issue later down the line than she thought.

She then opens the box and sees a large vial inside.

Sapphire starts to reach for the vial, but before she touches it a sudden pressure bursts forth stopping her in her tracks, the pressure spreads through the basement like it scanning its environment for something or someone. before it eventually comes back and focuses on Sapphire.

Being hit with all of this unknown pressure sapphire collapses to the ground and is pinned unable to move.

Sapphire" sh@t I can't move, no, come on body, you can do this, it's just a bit of pressure… like gravity training ye, it's just a training device so no need to panic. Now let's get up." sapphire attempts to reassure her self she did not just make a huge mistake… witch she decently did.

Around 30 seconds pass and she still can't move a single Phalange( finger, phalanges refers to your finger and toe digits) causing her to start to panic.

With desperation Sapphire struggles more until she wills for the first time her spiritual pressure to emerge, as she was never able to move or enforce her spiritual pressure before even though she had the power to do so, this allowed her to start moving ever so slightly.

Another 4 seconds pass and she can feel her spiritual energy draining from using spiritual pressure as she moves closer to the lid of the box to hopefully close it, she unknowingly attracts even more attention to herself to whatever this creature is, shuts the lid to the box, cutting off the unknown pressure within the basement.

As the lid closes she swears she could hear a faint maniacal laugh.

She then bolts out of the basement and shuts the door, where he brother Alex, turns the corner hearing the door shut.

Alex " found you, haha, you not very good at this are you saph. :3 "

Hello everyone I hope you enjoyed this chapter and sorry I completely abandoned this I can't remember why I did it in the first place, hopefully, I can upload it at least once or twice a week.

Anyway I would love to see what I could improve on as I know I am not very good at writing and all that, also I am a bit rust in writing this light novel as I haven't touched writing for a bit only really reading the light novel here or there, anyway, I wonder what are heroin/Mc will get up to in the next chapter.
