Frozen Slayer Chapter 2

Inside one of the few houses within the hamlet are Mc lives, we see a small, white, fluffy-tailed fox with blue eyes, this small fox cub looks similar to an arctic fox.

She is looking out a window and what she sees is a black-haired kitsune swinging two swords similar to a dance, with what seems like steam coming from him, the snow under his feet trampled.

Kira" Sapphire, you've been watching your dad practice for a while now, seems you fell for it like I did." A giggle came soon after.

Kira "You know, are bloodline helps us differently them most kitsune bloodlines, it a very physically included instead of magical so when you get a human body, you can definitely ask him for some basics, it's always good for a mage to be able to defend them selfs in close combat, even if it's only slightly."

Sapphire listening closely, but also at the end confused.

Kira" You look confused, mmmm, ah is it because I've said you are a mage, well even if our bloodline provides a boost to physical things, it's not that big of a boost like…. Others… and as you most definitely take after me, you'll be a fantastic mage when your core develops."

Kira" Oh, looks like you're not the only one Who's enamoured with your dad's Style."

As Sapphire jumps back around, she can see Alex, her older brother, with two sticks near his dad, (a safe distance away obviously) attempting to follow along."

After a couple of minutes, it seems her older brother has run out of stamina, and decides to come in for a bit of a rest.

Alex comes through the door, sweat dripping from his head "It… is… harder…. Then…. It….looks…."

Sapphire provides a small but visible thumbs up, with her paw beans showing almost mimicking a hand.

Kira" Well your younger sister seems to approve of your efforts Alex, as you've come in would you like me to do a bit of reading?" A small smile on her face

Alex nods and starts walking further into the house.

Kira" Sapphire?"

Only to be ignored

Kira" Sapphire, I know you can hear me, this is not an optional thing for you, understand."

She says with an 'innocent' smile.

Only to be unheaded by sapphire

After a couple of seconds, Kira gently put her hands around Sapphire's midsection and pulled lightly, only for Sapphire to dig her claws into the side of the window.

Kira" Sapphire, it's mandatory you listen to my stories of the outside world, you need to know these things."

In Sapphire's head" Noo, but cool swords thoooo!"

She is then promptly pulled out of the side of the windowsill and carried into the next room, a sad expression on Sapphire's face.

Later

Kira" So I was sitting down, relaxed and just started boiling water in the kettle so I could cleanse the heal root I had picked not long before. Do you remember why I was doing this?"

Alex "Wasn't it to clean it?"

Kira" Ah, almost Alex, I boiled water to be able to rid the heal root of its natural poison that resides within certain parts."

The boiling water is able to cleanse the poison from the heal root as the heat from the boiled water seeps into the plant, making the poison come out the plant and into the water, this sadly makes the water unusable but makes the heal root usable for the potion making or to just chew on as it helps with most mild discomfort when raw."

Alex "Why does the water do this?"

Kira" Good question Alex, well, water is a very good solvent, apparently one of the most common and easily acquired ones as well, meaning water is able to dissolve and hold things within itself and cleanse things from dirt and other things, in this case, poison."

"Kira "Well now back to my story, as I was boiling the water, my staff resting a bit away, I suddenly got attacked by a pack of wolves. Luckily, with my fast movement and reflexes, I was able to dodge out of the way and get to safety.

Sadly when I got out of the way I left my staff by the still boiling kettle so I had to do some basic spells to push the wolves back and grab my staff, annihilating the pack with ease when I was able to reach it.

So, can you tell me why that happened and what I did wrong?"

Alex thinking extremely hard, steam could be seen coming out of his head, and Sapphire well, she was jumping around but unable to communicate her thoughts.

Kira" Sapphire, remember what I told you, as you can't communicate right now, draw it out, I will teach you how to read and write soon, ok."

Sapphire then quickly puts the untasty pencil in her mouth and doodles some stick figures.

The stick figure drawing involves a stick figure, an orb with squiggles coming out of it and a stick to the side, she draws around the orb with steam and draws an arrow towards squiggly lines going out indicating sound, puts a cross through the stick and draws an arrow next to it and having said arrow end closer to the stick figure.

Kira" Mmm, are you saying the kettle made nose at tracking the wolves and I should have had my staff closer? Is that your final answer?"

Sapphire shakes her head vividly

Kira" Well then… good job Sapphire you got it. As she claps her hands

I should have been on alert as I was making a lot of noise so I should have focused on my surroundings instead of being relaxed, and I should have kept my staff in my hands or right next to myself so I could cast stronger spells to defend myself. Well done."

Kira" Well that's it for today, good job you two, you listened well, so because of that I'll show you something a bit later, ok."

Sapphire" Finally it's over, I can go back and watch Dad do cool stuff…

ok ok, I get why Mum does this, as it provides us with information and how things work, but she is horrendous at telling stories, it takes so much effort to understand what is important and what is waffle.

Sapphire heads towards the window one more time and jumps up excited to watch her dad do more training.

Only to be disappointed as he is no longer there, seemingly gone to hunt some boar or something.

So thinking of ways to lessen her boredom she looks around the house, and a couple of seconds later she sees something, a piece of wood.

Going up to the piece of wood, she knocks it down as quietly as possible and starts to slash at it with her two front claws.

After a good few minutes of nothing eventful happening the wood suddenly starts rising, only for the piece of wood to go flying toward the left side of the room.

Following it, Sapphire quickly sees her mum,

Kira" You know Sapphire, if you're bored I can take you for a walk outside…. Or you can help chop some wood for later use?"

Sapphire as a second of thought, brings up one toe bean.

Kira" ok, a walk it is, hope on up then."

As Kira holds her arms towards Sapphire, sapphire junos up and walks along her arms and reaches her shoulders, only to rap her self around her mum's neck, sapphire head on the right side, and a fluffy tail sticking out on the other side.

Kira" Alex! Come here please."

Alex soon arrives

Alex" ye mum."

Kira" We're going to ng on a walk, can you please get ready to join us."

Alex" ok." a smile on his face.

After a small amount of nt of time later.

The three foxes are walking in the snow

Kira" When we all get back home, I have something to give you two."

Alex" What is it?!"

Kira" spoilers." a cheeky smile plasters on her face.

Alex" But mummm, why can't we know now?"

Kira" Because I said so."

Alex" Fine." Puffing his checks out in annoyance

Sapphire seeing both Alex and Kira stop decided to move shoulders by jumping off Kira and Landing on Alex's shoulder and rapping around his neck, wagging her tail slightly in front of his face.

Alex giggles as his sister's soft tail rubs his nose.

Kira" Alex, you see that grass over there, can you tell me what it's called and what it does?"

Alex watches where his mum points and sees green grass, with small droplets of water on the blades not too far from them.

Alex is in a thinking pose "Mmmmmmm, isn't that grass with Dew on it…. Ohhhh it's morning dew grass, right? Aaaaaaand I think it has a slight numbing effect or something.

Kira" Correct Alex, why is this Clara's important?"

Alex " I, I don't remember… sorry."

Kira" It's ok, you remember it sooner or later.

Well, this type of grass is important because it's one of the vital ingredients for a basic health potion as if you don't add this specific type of grass, the healing process is extremely painful."

Alex" Oh right, I remember it now. An embarrassed chuckle comes out.

After walking around the snow-covered forest for a good amount of time

Kira" Alex, can you identify this type of tree?"

Alex" A fir tree right?"

Kira" Good job Alex, oh and look at that, we're at where the ash tree grows."

Sapphire draws a ? With her paw.

Kira" What are you confused about sapphire."

After a couple of minutes of thinking later

Kira" Umm are you confused about how ash is growing here well? If it is then it's because we used magic to modify these ash trees to be able to grow and develop well here so we can have a good tree type for making charcoal."

Alex" Why not use the pine?"

Kira "Sadly pine isn't very good at burning hot or for long so it's not a good tree for charcoal or firewood, but ash, on the other hand, is good for both of these also, that's why it's called ash, because it burns well.

Alex" Oh wow, that's cool."

…

Kira" Oh, it seems I forgot something, we should head back to the house, come on Alex, sapphire."

Alex" But we just got here, and the snow seems mostly untouched."

Kira" Well, we can find more areas later ye, but we should go.

Alex" Don't wanna." he said huffing.

Sapphire looks at Kira, and Sapphire notices Kira has started to lightly sweat."

Kira" Please, not know Alex, we should really go." she says in a slightly worried tone.

Sapphire starts to lightly pull on Alex's clothes.

Alex" Not you two Sapphire, but we didn't even get to play yet."

Kira" Come on Alex, you two can play when I get my things I forgot ok, it won't take long.

….

…

….

Alex" Fine."

Alex then slowly walks toward his mum

" ALEX MOVE!"

As Kira suddenly starts to use magic to pull Alex closer to her(Sapphire still on his shoulders)

As Alex gets dragged toward Kira, where Alex and Sapphire where the snow suddenly explodes upwards.

Kira" Why, why are one of those here."

The snow, which is blocking the view of whatever caused the exploration, fades quickly, as when Alex and Sapphire reach Kira, what stands there now is a slight shimmering effect that breaks, revealing what seems to be a woman, the woman has long white hair, white eyes, extremely pale skin, the only thing covers her decent sized chest, ice.

The ice seems to be a type of armour but also keeps her breasts in place.

Her bottom half, instead of legs and feet, is a mountain of constantly moving snow.

Alex" w why is that."

Kira" A snow women, now run we can't fight it at the moment."

As this is said, the ice woman shoots an icicle towards Kira, but thankfully she can dodge, visibly annoying the snow woman greatly.

"Kira" Alex, you need to keep Sapphire on your shoulders and run back home, all you need to do is run south ok."

Alex" o ok."

The snow woman seeing the two weaker features running away, smiles creepily and starts to rush towards the fleeing kids, once again shooting icicles towards them.

Kira" sh#t" as she charges a basic mana blast, but not having enough time to do it fully, shoots it off before it can charge fully,

Before my able to hit multiple icicles off-course.

Sadly though, not all were redirected, as two hit Alex in the back of his legs, causing him to fall.
