Chapter-5
"Hmm... You got the idea, what I mean, am I right? And basically, it's an important treasure for heaven, too," said the North Wind God.
"What does it have to do with heaven's treasure?" Yuko questioned.
"You know what I meant by that, don't you?" the North Wind God replied.
"Its shape is like 'Magatama,' but it's not like 'Mt. Penglais' treasures, right?" Yuko asked.
"Yea, it looks like 'Magatama,' but it's deeply connected with 'Mt. Penglais' treasures," the North Wind God said.
"No way!" Yuko exclaimed.
"You have to," the North Wind God insisted.
"..." (silence)
"Here, catch it – your locket!" The North Wind God tossed the locket at Yuko.
"Don't Catch it !" Yuko warned me.
"Don't touch it!".nooo
"...."
"Idiot!" Yuko muttered.
"Why do I feel uneasy? I'm about to fall... But somehow, I feel uplifted."
"Leave him," a voice said.
"How can I leave him so easily?" another voice countered.
"You'll regret it if you don't leave it"
!!!!
What's happening here? I don't remember anything. I just fainted instantly while we were crossing the little bridge with water only knee-deep, and the North Wind God threw a locket at me. And... now...
The surroundings don't look familiar. Y...u...kk...o. She... and the North Wind God... no... what's this? This stunning scene – both are using their powers, fighting. The North Wind God wields. sharp, longswords imbued with ice powers, while Yuko uses spiritual power or, rather, blood techniques. As they fight, I clearly see their styles clash in mid-air, up and down. I stand here, witnessing their battle, with breezy winds blowing alongside their movements. Suddenly, I recall: if they fight like this, there'll be trouble. If the North East Wind God doesn't stop, his cold wind and ice powers will freeze and tear the world apart.
"So, what... can I..."
Okay, let's try this.
"Hey, you guys!"
My heart aches, speaking hurts a little.
"..?"
"...?"
"Stop fighting!" My voice echoes in a medium tone.
As they turn to me, halting their attacks, the North Wind God seems aware of something. I sense it... and then he throws a sharp ice shard at me. To my surprise, it doesn't hit me; instead, it grazes the corner of my eye. I glance at the shard, then back at the North Wind Lord – he's vanished. Yuko looks equally perplexed. We gaze upward; unexpectedly, a beautiful star trails illuminates the sky. The North Wind God ascends to the heavens. Well, that's good now. Tonight's scenery is breathtaking – the most beautiful I've seen.
As I turn to Yuko, she gazes at the stars, eyes wide.
Suddenly, she collapses. I rush toward her.
"Are you okay?" I ask her
"Yea, but my legs are out of energy." She answered
"Oh... let me carry you." I try to help her by Asking
"U...hh... okay." suprisingly she agreed
"Okay, let's go now." As I sat her on my back, we started heading home, mesmerized by the stars' beauty above.
"Really beautiful, isn't it?" I ask her
"Yes, they're truly beautiful," she replied
"Ha haha." We shared a laugh.
As the wind blew and stars shone brightly, we walked home together. With Yuko on my back, this felt like a completely new experience, yet eerily familiar, like something from long ago. What am I thinking? That can't be true, I chuckled myself mysteriously.
"..."
"Why did you stop?"she ask me
"I feel something's off." I was wondering what thing I am forgetting
"Huh? There's nothing left. Let's—Grrrr."
"Okay..hehe... Think you're hungry now, sorry. Ha ha ha."
"Okay, let's gooooo."she insist
Uhhhhh, finally home. I opened the door and took her to the living room.
"Is your leg okay now?"
"Uhh... yes, thank you."
Cute. It's 7:00 pm. Where's Mom? She must be upstairs
"You wait here, just sit on the sofa. I'll bring the first aid kit, okay?"
"Mmm."
The first aid kit box also must be in upstairs.
As I reach to upstairs mom was talking to someone on phone
"Oh, okay. Then tomorrow we'll go."
"Yeah, sure. I'll be waiting."
Clack. Phone cuts
"Who was it, Mom?"
"It was your grandparents. We are visiting them, and we're taking that your girl too ... What's her name again?"
"Yuko... and what do you mean by 'your'? Huh?"
"Nothing. Okay, now, why are you here?"
"Am I not allowed? I'm looking for a first aid kit."
"Oh, you got injured?"
"No, Yuko. She got a little scratch. I'm finding bandages."
"Okay, wait here."
"Mmm."
"Here." That was quick.
"Btw, where is she?"
"Living room."
She must be waiting, tired, and sleeping on the sofa.
Hehe, I knew it; she looks cute, never thought she would look so cute.... a little bit. Let's put the bandage on, done!
"She's tired; let her sleep," Mom says.
"Okay."
Let's eat dinner. Wait, am I forgetting something else?
Locket...! Oh, thank God it's not lost. That's a relief.
"Mom, where's my dinner?" I'm starving by hunger
"Okay, it's cold now;let me warm up wake Yuko too."
"Okay." She's in deep sleep it even makes her look even cuter and more beautiful – ancient beauty, haha. I wanna squeeze her cheeks; she looks cute. Wait, what the heck am I thinking? Uhhh...
"Mmm...!?"
"Uhh, sorry; did I wake you up?" Oh no..
"No, it's okay."
"Hmm." Uhh, if I hadn't stopped staring earlier, she'd have caught me. But she was just looking so darn cute...
"Bandage?"
"Yes, uhh, I put it on because you got a little scratch. Sorry if—"
As I spoke, Yuko cut in.
"Oh... it's okay."
"Forgot, dinner's ready; let's go."
"Okay."
"Thanks for the food," we said together, devouring it like hungry starving children.
"Food was delicious, Aunty."
"Thanks, sweetie."
"Okay, you guys go ahead and sleep fast; tomorrow we have to go somewhere."
"Mm, okay. Let's go, Yuko."
"Uhhh... okay."
Mmm... I almost forgot, and Yuko doesn't know about tomorrow.
Since she sleeps with me, let's make the bed.
"Let me help."
"Ok, thanks." First time noticing her helping.
We can sleep now. We covered ourselves with blankets, one for me and another for her.
"Time to turn off the lamp."
"Okay, goodnight."
"Goodnight, Yuko."
As the light turned off, the room was completely dark.
Yuko whispered,
"Lifeng... I want to ask you something."
"Mm!... Go ahead, what could it be?"
"Sorry for all the trouble I caused you. I'm really sorry."
"No, it's okay; you don't have to be sorry."
"But still, I'll thank you later."
"No, it's okay."
"I lost your locket, too, and couldn't able help you."
"No, you didn't; it's in its place."
"You mean you have it?"
"Yes... Okay, now let's sleep; it's getting late. Good night."
"Mm, good night."
I wondered why she acted like this, but it was cute; she cared about what happened. Maybe she's not that bad.... I hope so, and I hope tomorrow will go normally.
It's time; we should get ready. She's still sleeping. My parents must be ready. Let's wake her up.
"Yuko, wake up."
"Umm..."
"It's time; get up. We have to go somewhere."
"Mmn, what about school?"
"Yesterday was the last school day; our exams are finished, and we have a 1-month holiday."
"Oh, okay then. Let's get ready. Where are we going?"
"You'll know later."
"Mm."
Hhhhuhh, the water is cold! Ahh.
Finally done washing; let's get ready.
We're all set to go now. "Okay, all set; let's go. It's going to be a long journey for 2 days, so be prepared."
"Yeahhhhh!" We exclaimed in excited voices.
In the car, we saw breathtaking places and scenery. Yuko seemed excited.
"Wow, is that Tokyo Tower?"
Oh, I almost forgot; we live in Japan and need to go back to China.
"Mmmm."
We stopped for lunch at a luxurious place. After eating, we headed to a place I'd always wanted to visit.
"Let's go."
"Okay."
For that, we need to take the train.
And Mmm, it's November 3, and there might be chances of not seeing it too I hope we can.
The train sliding door opens.
We stepped in front of that place and look for a taxi by 2:30 we manage to get one taxi.we took The taxi reached to the spot and when we reached to the spot.
"Hey don't run you two " mom scolds me from behind
"Sorry mom"
Suddenly i realised Yuko was running beside me too I was surprised
I ran to the top spot to see; it was 3 pm by now, and what I saw was surprising,
thankfully, it wasn't frozen.
Huff, huff I ran too fast i am tired now .
"Wow, it's beautiful!" Yuko exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.
This is the place I remember.
"Btw, what's this place called?"
"This place is called Lake Suwa, surrounded by the Kiso Mountains, in the Nagano Prefecture, Japan."
"Ooo."yuko says
" Mm"
I love this scenery; it's from my favorite movie, "Your Name." It looks exactly like Itamori.
"You two, stand there together."
"Huh ?"
"Why ?"
"We are taking photos".
Mm, we stood close, and Mom and Dad clicked our photos.
Click
We took theirs too, and Lake Suwa's.
By night, we reached the airport; we'd already booked the night flight tickets online. So we reached on time and boarded, then slept after eating food.
By morning, we landed at Tunxi Airport, near Huangshan Mountain. We took a taxi and headed straight to Mount Huangshan.
The road offered breathtaking mountain views, beautiful places trees.
Aa, we reached the mountain; it was truly beautiful,as it's has been said, and looks like gods once lived here.
Suddenly, Mom said,
"Let's go; your grandparents are waiting."
"Okay." As Mom led us, the path seemed like a secret passage hidden in the mountain – zigzagging, up and down, dark, and tree-covered.
Uhhh, I'm tired. Are we hiking or camping here tonight? Mom, Dad, and Yuko walked effortlessly am I the only one having trouble.
"We've arrived!" Mom and Dad exclaimed in excitement.
"Really?" Yuko and I emerged, awestruck and rush towards.
The scenery was stunning –flowers covered the mountain from top the bottom , surrounded by rocky peaks, with a majestic Chinese ancient-style mansion in the center. Upon closer inspection, a hidden village revealed itself, small small ancient Chinese houses, and a lots of people.
Some people , even visiters were coming and going from where we stood, but they were comming from different direction.
But the way we came was... uhh, nevermind.
This place is very soothing.
"It's truly amazing," Yuko said with daze.
"Yeah, it's," Mom replied.
"Brings back old memories, right?" Dad added.
"Yes, honey," Mom agreed.
"Should we go ahead?" I asked, with Yuko beside me.
"Wait, can't you let us enjoy it?" Mom scolded, smiling.
"No, you can enjoy it later," i told her
For a moment, I thought Yuko was unusually little bit quiet today. Don't know why ?
The hilly area made it challenging to descend. It was tougher than I thought.
As we finally reached down and head towards
Yuko says
"It looks amazing," Yuko exclaimed.
"Yeah, truly amazing," Mom replied.
"I like it," Dad said.
"Never thought it'd be so beautiful," I said, awestruck.
The place was breathtaking – ancient design village and houses , flowers surrounded, and scenery resembling heaven. Chinese lanterns hung everywhere on top , swaying gently. Waterfalls, lantern-holding statues, divine god sculptures, and big and small temples left us mesmerized.
As we followed my parents, Mom said,
"This place is similar to how I remember, but a lot has changed."
"Yes, sweetheart," Dad agreed.
Suddenly mom stopped.
We reached the grand mansion, and Mom stopped and knock at the door there three times.
Knock, knock, knock.
Creak
The door creaked open slowly.
"Please come in," a man in black invited.
Inside, statues of gods, trees, and beautiful flowers surrounded us.
"Mom, w—" I started.
Suddenly, an elderly lady spoke from behind a leafy tree, her face obscured.
"It's been a long time, my child."
"Mom, yeah, it's been a long time," Mom replied, joyfully.
