The Fight

'Try to control that staff Sionna, you almost hit me.' Said Caith's smoky voice filled her mind as she watch her staff erupting with light.

"I don't know how!" She said watching the troops scatter in panic as the magic continued to shoot at them in a random manner.

'Calm your emotions!' Caith yelled at her in her mind as he narrowly dodge a bolt of magic. The bolt instead hit a soldier on horseback who immediately slipped off the horses back. Terrified the horse took off away from the magic dragging the soldier whose foot was stuck in the stirrup.

"How am I supposed to calm down, when I was just shot by and arrow, theres an army trying to capture us and to top it all off I don't know how to work this stick!" She shouted under her breath making her emotions swell even more causing even more magic to erupt from the staff. Before Caith could reply an arrow shot out from the shadows hitting Sionna in the hand and making her drop the staff. Immediately her eyes traced the direction the arrow came from and saw a smaller elvish man with cat eyes crouching in a nearby tree.

With one hand Sionna pulled the arrow out of her flesh in a quick fluid motion. Anger boiled inside her chest directed at the archer an emotion that she had rarely felt until recently. Lifting her hand she pointed a finger directly at the elf and fiery red magic erupted from her finger striking the man in his chest causing him to fall from the tree.

"Demarcus!" A voice rang out and a goblin like woman rushed to the fallen archer's side. She could hear him struggling to breath and had heard his bones break when he hit the ground, Sionna knew he would be dead soon.

Terrified most of the soldiers were cowering behind trees and boulders. A few still managed to hold onto their horses but most of them were now on foot. A distorted smile graced her lips as she let her emotions take over. She pointed each man and woman out letting the magic burn right through them. She watched the magic illuminate their terrified eyes as the magic burned straight through them. Killing most of them instantly, and she made sure to pick the archers off first.

Ciall held Demarcus in her arms watching him struggle to breath, the magic blast hand just taken out his shoulder it was the fall that had shattered his body.

"I had a real," he coughed his body straining to take in more air. "good run," Demarcus finished coughing up blood.

"Hang in there, you are going to be fine," Ciall said trying to hold onto her typical cool demeanor. At her words Demarcus's chest made a horrid noise as he attempted to laugh. Small specks of blood spraying the air on his exhales.

"You can't leave me," Ciall tried to say firmly, her dark eyes filling with tears.

"I am replaceable," Demarcus's now raspy voice replied his cat eyes becoming hazy.

"I know I never showed it, but I love you," Ciall said her tears now dropping on Demarcus. Seeing her cry he smiled.

"I think," he coughed again. "I loved you too." he sighed with more blood coming out of his mouth. He smiled at her, then his eyes became lifeless and his chest stopped moving.

"Please, don't leave me," she sobbed into his lifeless body. "Please," she cried softly holding him in her arms. She couldn't hear his heart beating and she knew he was dead but she didn't want to let go. This man had always been a pain, but his humor even in the darkest of times gave some sort of color to her life. Suddenly she realized her life was going to go back to how it was, colorless. That hurt her more than losing Demarcus and for the first time in her life she had no control over herself. Her usually cold lifeless eyes filled with grief and pain. Letting go of his body she looked up at the woman before her. Her hair seemed to literally be on fire as her entire body glowed with red magic. She was smiling as she pointed out Ciall's army picking them off one by one the second they peaked out from a tree or rock.

Ciall drew her sword and charged toward Sionna anger fueling her as she ran. Only to be hit by a massive black wolf from the side knocking her down. For a second she could not catch her breath after being knocked over with such force.

'I told you, I would be your demise.' Said a cool deep voice inside her head. Desperately she reached for her dagger on her leg but a giant paw landed on her shoulder. She felt the bones crack under his weight and she cried out in pain.

"JUST KILL ME ALREADY!" She screamed at him looking into his icy blue eyes. Her dark eyes were filled with pain and suffering as they looked into his.

"Please," she said finally. As they both stood looking into each others eyes. Finally he retracted his head and the last thing she saw was his sharp teeth stained with blood.
