Roxanne answered her question saying, "If that is what it will take to give you a reality check and stop you from thinking so optimistically and more realistically, then yes, that was the goal of this exercise. I can't have you going around believing this childish stuff, and unfortunately, we don't have the time for you to grow up in a normal fashion, so I am speeding up this process artificially to meet the necessary qualifications to succeed in the world. 

While Adair didn't like the answer that she was given, she guessed that at least it appeared that Roxanne had her best intentions in mind but even so, experiencing this was quite a new experience for her.

She would have thought that her experience as a goddess back during the test in the Galactic Empire would have taught her these experiences if they were true, but she had turned them out during her time trapped, or she had just ignored things like this when they were happening.
