Chapter 39: Burner Phone

Caleb and I were now back inside the car, still parked outside in the prison parking lot. Leaving with no information that could help us get Caleb’s parents out safely. We both felt hopeless.

Caleb’s mom refused to tell us who the client was or how it could help with their release. My mind kept circling around with famous figures around the world, who could possibly be the culprit. I couldn’t make any familial ties, or make them link all the way back to the royal family in a way.

I had told myself I would figure out a way, or I would have to turn myself back in, for the exchange of Caleb’s parent’s freedom. With the number of choices we have left, it looks like I won’t have much of a choice.

“I don’t know why my mom is keeping the client’s name away from us!” Caleb yelled.

“It’s alright; we can just think of some other plan,” I added.

“I just can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped!” Caleb yelled again in confusion.
