Lin Fan looked at the direction of the other three who were spewed on the floor, as if they were the ones getting executed, "What about them, are you going to leave them in this state?" asked Lin Fan

The black robed man laughed and said, "I clean up the hall from waste, others clean it from people. Speaking of which, you seem to be handling yourself pretty good. Other than a pale face, you seem quite relaxed."

Lin Fan gave a wry smiling, "I am far from it."

This was really a mile away from the truth. Even though he was still on his feet and able to form coherent sentences. It was a rather uncomfortable feeling. As much as a fantasy story may try and turn it's characters into killing machines, it is still fairly unrealistic at the end of the day.

An old retired war veteran may still experience nightmares for the rest of his life. This naturally doesn't apply to all cases, but definitely most. Humans are born good-natured. It's the way that they were raised is what slowly molds their personality.

"You'll get used to it, don't worry. Let's get going!" said the man as he turned around and waved at Lin Fan to follow.

Lin Fan quickly followed behind and introduced himself, "I am Lin Fan, by the way."

The man, on the other hand, pointed at his chest with his palm stretched open and replied, "And I am Lenny, it's nice getting to know you, friend,"

It wasn't difficult to notice that a fair amount of people of the association were actually of the white race. The real question here was..why was every darn person he met able to speak fluent Chinese?

Lin Fan gave a side glance at Lenny and couldn't help but ask, "Is it a requirement for every one to be able to speak Chinese in order to join the association?"

Lenny turned his head and was surprised hearing this question. He wasn't really sure what Lin Fan meant when he asked this. Then, it hit him and he gave a light chuckle.

"Let me return your question with another. Can you speak fluent English?"

Lin Fan couldn't help but wonder where this guy was getting at but answered nonetheless, "I can't,"

"Well, I can hear you speaking it right now!" he announced loudly.

Lin Fan was startled and realization as well as disbelief came rolling in, If his guess was on point...

"Could it be that anything I hear is being interpreted into my mother tongue?!"

Lenny threw his hands in the air and blurted, "Bingo!"

"This is fascinating! Cultivators can even do this?"

Lenny looked weirdly at Lin Fan and said, "Legends has it that cultivators at a certain stage could do all sorts of unimaginable feats, even reviving the dead. This is nothing compared."

Surprise was painted on Lin Fan's eyes as he asked, "Can they really?"

Lenny shrugged, "Well, legends are still legends, after all. They could be true or not." He then laughed and said, "The only way to find out; is to just reach that stage, isn't it?"

He narrowed his eyes in a playful manner and said, "Who knows? Maybe you will one day reach that stage,"

Lin Fan gave a wry smile as he said, "You must be jesting. I'll be content if I just have the talent to cultivate, much less trying to reach a legendary stage."

"Don't worry. The fact that you are standing right here is a proof of your ability to remove at lease one chain" He pointed out.

"What is a chain?" asked Lin Fan in confusion.

"You really don't know anything," He gave Lin Fan a perplexed look and continued, "There exists 9 chains in the human body. After breaking the first chain, you can be officially considered a cultivator. I am a first chain cultivator, which naturally means I broke one chain,"

Lin Fan raised his brow, "You are only a first chain?"

Lenny gave a wry smile and said, "Oh come on, don't give me that look. It is progressively harder to break more, I am one of these people that you can call, talent-less."

He continued, "You could grab a manual from the receptionist, Lily. It's nothing fancy though. Only the very basic one. "

A while later, they were standing in front of a two wooden doors that had the two words—Assessment Hall— written above them.

"We arrived," said Lenny
