A Question Already Answered

When you finished your 1000 push-ups he made you do 100 laps around the room after that you had to do 500 sit-ups and after that, you did planks for 30 minutes above a blazing hot pile of coals set a fire by his intense white flame so hot that you had burn marks all over your legs by the time you finished. You lay there completely exhausted from the grueling work-out. The old man looks up from the book he had been reading as he says.

"Done already?"

You try to stand as the old man makes his way over to you but collapse.

"You don't have to push yourself so hard."

The old man picks you up with a strength someone his age shouldn't possess.

"I thought you'd give up I'm surprised you made it this far."

With a smile he says. "You did amazing you can rest now."

Your muscles begin to rest a bit as the old man pushes a button on the wall and with a loud thump it lifted to reveal two bedrooms separated by a thin sheet of metal the old man walks into the room to the left and places you on the bed which cradled and supported your body making you feel as if you were laying on a bed of clouds.

He begins to leave the room but you grab the end of his robe causing him to immediately stop and turn to face you.

"Master...can you answer a question for me."

A big smile appears on his face as he says in a fruity voice, "Sure anything."

'Am I really gonna ask this?'

"Why have you been watching me?"

The old man gets up and slowly walks towards the door.

'guess he is just like everyone else always keeping secrets how could I expect anything else.'

Just before he closes the door behind him the old man stops saying, "A promise." Before turning off the lights and finally closing the door behind him leaving you lying there in the dark bedroom to ponder on the old man's words .

After a few hours you give up on finding out what that old man was talking about and pop a few of the pills your dad gave you that are thankfully not poisoned and turn over letting sleep take you.
