chapter four: Second wife

The people were surprised, who is this woman?. Why does that boy look like Master Mu's son…..

"As I was saying ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to my first son's second wife. The mother of my second grandson and my first granddaughter." Old Master Mu said proudly, better than the way he introduced Mu Chao Xing earlier.

Silently filled the ballroom, the only sound cause be heard was Old Madam Mu, Master Mu and Madam Mu's glasses crashing down to the floor. Master Mu stood up from his and looked towards the stage with a confused expression on his face. 'Father what are you doing? I don't know this woman, he thought. He turned to face his mother and wife to ask for an explanation, his mother just shakes her head indicating that she also is confused. He walked to the stage and stared at his so-called second wife and children. He is sure that he never met this woman in his whole life, so where did these children come from?

"Tell me who are you? Who is the father of these kids?'' I'm not my father who you lie to,  you better tell me the truth this instance, if not I'm going to call the police." Master Mu said as he grabbed the woman's hand that was holding the girl child. They fell and started to weep, her brother quickly went to her side and hugged her telling her to not cry.

"Brother father doesn't want us, but grandpa said last night that if we come today father would hit us with open arms, but why is he not doing that?" The little girl said she wept in her brother's arms.

Old Master Mu saw this and was very heartbroken.

"Bang bang." Old Master Mu beat his walking stick twice on the floor."Mu Zhong". Old Master Mu shouted Master Mu's full name in a rage." I brought her here because she is the mother of two Mu descendants, do you want me to neglect them?" Old Master Mu said with an angry expression on his face.

Old Madam Mu saw this and she knew her husband and son were going to argue, and she didn't want her family to be like that family that doesn't have manners. She walked to the stage with the help of her daughter-in-law." Son stop this is not the place to deal with this, we will with it in private. We have guests " She said calmly to her son and then turned to face who caused all this." Hello, I'm Old Madam Mu and this is my daughter-in-law. She will show you to the resting area. Can you please go there with your children so we can continue the party, thank you very much?" Old Madam Mu said she didn't even give the women time and turned to her daughter in law who was still carrying her granddaughter.

"Butler Fu please exhaust them to the resting area, I'm busy and to do it." Madam Mu said to Butler Fu and then went to her husband"Zhong doesn't argue with father in front of people. People will say that we don't respect our elders." Said Madam Mu softly to Master Mu so that only both of them can hear.

Old Master Mu looked at his daughter-in-law as she handled the situation, he snorted " I'm not in the mood to stay here anymore since I did everything that me the elder must do. I will be going now and accompanying my grandchildren." The Old Master said as he turned to walk out of the hall. 

Everything happened so fast, it took a few minutes before everyone snapped back to reality.

'Was that the new mistress of the Mu family? One lady softly told her other friends that were sitting there.

``Who knows, but did you hear what Old Master Mu said that he is going now to accompany his grandchildren?'' the other woman replied as they turned to face the stage, they didn't know that attending such an important event they would discover such a juicy story. 

Matriarch Mu stared at Old Mistress who was sitting by the table and drinking tea with a smile on her face. She knew that this woman was involved." Okay, shall we move on... I see that it is getting dark and I believe that it is going to rain soon, I think everyone is hungry by now. You guys can start to serve now." Matriarch Mu said to the guests and turned toward the waitresses when she the last part. And excused herself.
