Some weeks later...

At sunday night Mrs. Melody and her children came back from the cinema after watching an episode of star wars. Mrs. Melody is a single mother with two kids who lost her husband about a month due to a fatal accident which made her exit Dallas to Carlsville city. Trying to adapt to the new surrounding, she and her kids decided to tour the city since it was a free day.

"Alright alright, get inside" Mrs. Melody said after bolting the apartment of her door open. The kids ran inside but instead of heading to bed, they dashed towards the TV.

Mrs. Melody on the other hand closed the door, hanged her keys on a pavement same as her coat on her hanger.

With bag of goodies and groceries on her hands, she walked towards the kitchen "after a long time at the cinema, it's time to call it a day" she said before dropping her groceries on the table. As she was about to arrange them in the cupboard, she had faint noises coming from the living room. She peeped and spotted Ben and Kate sitting on the white rug with their eyes fisted on the TV.

Mrs. Melody sighed before walking towards the living room. She grabbed the remote and switched off the tv, getting their attention. She gazed at their faces with a smile "Kids it's late already, you have to go bed so you'll not be late to school, alright" and they replied with a nod "yes mummy

"Now to bed" and whoosh they ran through the stairs with smiles and giggles on their faces.

"Be careful kids, and I'm coming to tuck you in" with a broad smile on her face, she stared at her kids run through the stairs before proceeding back to the kitchen.

Five minutes later, she walked to the kid's room and found them on their bed with their pyjamas. She was about to utter a word when little Ben calmly asked with his brows furrowed together "Mom, are monsters real"

Mrs. Melody made a chuckle from his question before answering "Oh yes Ben, monsters are real and in fact they're everywhere" She paused and stared at Ben's scared face "But luckily for us, we have group of heroes who call themselves the fire saber rangers. They make sure we are safe from the monsters, so there's nothing to be afraid of, alright" She said while tucking Ben's blanket into his bed. With a nod in reply he received a peck on his forehead before falling asleep. She also did the same to Kate who was fast asleep.

Walking to the entrance of room, she turned and stared at their sleepy face.

"Sweet dreams" she murmured to them before switching off the light.

However, the atmosphere became windy as the breeze blew into the kids room through a window which was opened. All of a sudden, an ugly looking demon officially known to be a monster appeared into their room with a devilish carved weapon on his hands.

"haaaa" He cackled lightly shooting a purple beam towards the kids from his weapon which trapped the kids in the whatever dream they were having.

"That's right kids, sweet dreams, two down, more to go, enjoy your sleep. haaaa" He added with his devilishly laughter before teleporting out of the room and instantly the wind stopped.

Since it was night, the teenage friends had dispersed to their various home leaving Freddie, jack, Chloe and Kim alone in their house. Before going to bed, the family decided to watch a movie.

Jack then thought of a movie which is called skyline. He actually lied to the girls that it was much of comedy and romance but no, it was totally horror but more of alien.

Definitely Kim and Chloe were scared but they didn't want to show it... but Kim on the other hand could not stand it as she blurted out "Okay, i can afford to watch this anymore" she jumped out of the sofa chair same as Chloe who added "Same here and next time jack, I'll be the one picking the movies" She directed to jack who laughed uncontrollably.

Kim also smiled at her daughter's rumpled face before walking towards Freddie who fisted his eyes on the TV. He was actually intrigue and enthralled with the movie that he didn't realize they were talking. He jolted as his mom placed a peck on his fore head.

"Oh goodnight mom" Freddie glanced at her walking out of the room with Chloe. Jack also stared at them walking towards the stairs. He shook his head before muttering to himself "Cowards"

Outside carlsville Park, the monster that trapped the kids in their dreams walked around the park, looking for more people to trap in their dream. He then spotted a man sleeping on the park's wooden chair "Oh!, another pathetic victim, anyway have fun at the dream world" The monster shot a purple beam at the man, trapping him also in whatever dream he was having "Haaaa"

As he shot the beam, it triggered a sensor as the ranger signal alarm went on. Freddie and jack froze and gazed at one other. They knew what that sound meant. Immediately they dashed towards the basement. Getting there, they were surprised to meet Chloe and Kim base.

"What's up this night mum" Some steps away from them, Freddie asked.

"I'm picking up a signal" Kim replied fisting her attention on the system, not forgetting her fingers clicking the keyboard very fast.

"Where" Jack asked as they were now beside Kim.

Triangulating the location, she realized the sensor was triggered from the Carlsville Park.

Through the surveillance camera, she saw a monster shooting a beam at the people which made her exclaim with her hands on her mouth "Oh my god"

Because of what they saw, they stared at themselves with their brows raised up.

"What is he doing to them" Chloe broke the silence with her eyes fisted on the screen.

"I don't know but we got to check it" Jack instantly replied before turning his eyes at Freddie who nodded at him. He quickly contacted the rest of the team through his wristcom.

"Guys, do you read me" Freddie said to his watch but was actually communicating to the rest of team.

"yea Fred" "Wassup bro" "Hey man, don't you sleep at night" Michelle, Jack and James replied one after the other

"We have a problem. I don't have time to explain but get to the city's park as fast as you can" Freddie talked very fast not as to entertain interruption.

"Kk" "on my way" "Argh, emergency at night" Once again they each replied instantly.

Ending the short conversation, Freddie turned to his siblings "Guys let's go" before heading towards the entrance.

"Its show time" with a smirk on his face, jack muttered and together with Chloe they tried to catch up with Freddie who was some step from them.

"Be careful" Kim yelled at them with a frown, but they were gone already. She seemed a bit scared for the team because it was their first night battle.
