Solan's Warbringer

Joshua was visibly happy. He endured Richard's training every day like a madman. It had paid off. He could now finally start to level up and truly begin his journey in this new world. He was a little depressed for having an ordinary Knight class, but it was far better than having none. At least his Divine Grade abilities were overpowered, and he could learn other skills faster than normal, at least he thought so.

Perhaps the universe was listening to his prayers, and another notification popped after he unlocked the Knight class.

Well, that was something easy for Joshua to answer. He quickly accepted the offer and got his new class, which made him smile.

[Description: You're able to see the information of enemies up to 15 levels higher than you. Leveling up the skill will improve that, and show more information about the targets.]

[Fire Manipulation(Divine Grade) unlocked.]

[Description: Just like the Phoenix you can manipulate fire. You can use the flame on your weapons, throw at your enemies, or even use it on your own body. This is a versatile skill and can be used as the user wishes.]

[Cost: 10 mana. The amount will increase depending on what you're trying to accomplish.]

[Ashen One(Divine Grade) unlocked.]

[Description: The Phoenix can rise from the ashes and be born anew, so does you. With this skill you can change your appearance, as well as the information others can see.]

The number of skills Joshua received made him even happier. The first one was just like the scouting ability Richard talked about, the one Joshua would get after becoming a Knight. But that one was far better, and it was Divine Grade, so Joshua knew that it would become even stronger as he leveled up.

Fire Manipulation gave Joshua the freedom he wanted. The thought of a skill that can be used in various ways made his body tingle. He could know set his giant sword on fire and even his own body.

'Can I send that part on fire too? No, what are you thinking Joshua.' Joshua had some strange thoughts about that skill.

The last skill was something Joshua expected as soon as he got a special class. He knew that the class was because he was one of the heroes of the world, and of course, it wasn't something that everyone should be able to see. With that skill, Joshua could appear to others as only a Knight, and that wouldn't raise the suspicion of others.

"Congratulations Joshua. But why are you so happy? It's just the Knight class, it is not as if you got some special one, right?" Richard said.

He couldn't understand why Joshua was so happy, but that made him happy too. They've got really close, and Joshua seemed like a nice guy for Aurora, which made him like him even more. At first, the thought of him and Aurora having something made him want to punch Joshua in the face, but that was due to him not knowing that much of Joshua. In this world filled with scumbags, it was rare to see someone kind and diligent with its training. Richard was sure that Joshua would become someone strong, strong enough to protect his daughter.

"Oh, sorry. Our training has been so hard that when I finally got the Knight class, I was just too happy." That wasn't the truth, but it wasn't a lie either.

"Well, you should have unlocked a scouting skill, and your strength and endurance raised by 1 point," Richard said.

'I would get just that getting the Knight class? 1 point in two attributes? I got 5 in all with the Solan's Warbringer.'

Another doubt arose for Joshua. He felt that this world was like a game, and in games, Knights would have skills like Slash or something that one would activate and perform a special attack. He got the Fire Manipulation which was somewhat similar to that, but with more in-depth possibilities. But the Knight class didn't get one.

"Hey, Richard. How can I get a skill that lets me perform a strange and powerful attack with my sword?" Joshua didn't know that his questions would make Richard gaze strangely at him.

"Joshua, you should know that Knights mostly have abilities to enhance the body, just like other physical classes. The only ones that can throw the mana at others are mages. Archers can enchant their arrows, but that isn't the same thing. Knights can also enchant their weapons when they reach a really high level, but that's for people in a different scope of power than us. If you want strange and powerful attacks, you should learn how to use your sword, and level up a skill named Swordsmanship. It will take some time for you to get that one, but keep training and you'll get it eventually."

"The exception to that rule should be the Paladins. Paladin is a rare class, and only a handful of people from the church have that. They said that Paladins can enhance their bodies like Knights, but also do that to their allies, and they can cast the mana to heal others, and smite the undead." Richard gave more information to Joshua, as he thought that wasn't something special.

Joshua now understood how this world functioned. There wasn't something like Slash, one had to manually learn how to use the sword, leveling up their Swordsmanship, which would increase their damage and improve their move set with the sword. Physical-related classes could mainly enhance their bodies, to then get closer to the enemy and kill them.

That information just stated that his Fire Manipulation was truly an awesome skill. He could buff his body and weapons with it, like the physical classes, but he could also throw it, like the magical classes.

'My class seems more melee orientated, but with this skill, I can also cheese and surprise some enemies throwing a ranged attack out of nowhere.'

Richard and Joshua chatted for a while, and even Aurora showed up to congratulate Joshua for getting his class. She was truly happy for him. They parted ways after some time because Joshua now had another plan in mind.
