The Fifth House (HP and DxD)

A figure walked down a corridor bustling with students—all the eyes turned to her. The hushed whispers of the students resounded, spreading the rumors. "She must be a demon." "She is a devil's daughter." The figure smiled, hearing them, and silently murmured, "You are correct..." ----------------------------------- What to expect? I don't know...

The "Allergy"

After a slightly disappointing first class, Lumina made her way to her second class of the day. All around her, the students were brandishing their wands, creating flickers of light that appeared and disappeared as they cast their charms.

The short, half-goblin professors carefully observed them, while walking around the classroom.

"Lumos!" Lumina waved her wand, and a trickle of magic flowed into its tip. Overflowing with confidence, she surveyed her classmates' feeble, dim lights. Her incantation was precise, and her hand followed the calculated pattern recorded in her textbook.

'I will be better! The power of light is in my heritage.'

With her determination guiding her, the tip of her wand ignited in a brilliant, radiant glow. Her eyes shimmered with joy and her heart pounded as she succeeded on her very first attempt. Pride swelled within her as she glanced at the faint, feeble glimmers emanating from her classmates' wands.

Her own wand radiated a resplendent brilliance, its pure light obliterating all shadows and eclipsing the other students' efforts, drawing all the eyes at her and basking her in their awe and envy.

'Hehe, I am not a daughter of the Lightbringer for nothing...'

Suddenly, her thoughts froze as the flow of magical energy through her wand intensified, causing her eyes to widen in panic. But it was too late.

"Oh no!"

The light emanating from her wand grew brighter, its radiance so intense that surrounding students had to avert their gazes. Her trembling hand struggled to contain the escalating surge of magic.

She tried to stop and cut the current of energy, but it did nothing as it sucked more and more of her power.

'I don't like this.'

The panicked voices of her classmates only amplified her own fear.

"What are you doing?"

"Oh no, Mum warned me about explosions in charm class."

The intensifying light spiraled out of control, forming shapes and letters she couldn't comprehend, filling the entire classroom.

"Miss Morningstar?!"

All the voices around her turned into a jumbled mess as the blinding halo grew so searingly hot that she could feel its warmth on her face emanating from the tip of her wand.

A sense of dread and imminent danger gripped her mind as she sensed that something terrible was about to occur.

'Father, please save me.'

Then, an even greater surge of magic coursed through her hand, and a pitch-black darkness mingled with bright crimson flames erupted from her wand, enveloping the orb of light. It devoured the light with a ferocity akin to a swarm of angry wasps.

The inferno didn't stop there; fiery sparks leaped throughout the classroom, extinguishing the glowing orbs on students' wands as if they had their own minds.

"Stop it!"

In the blink of an eye, it was over. Only the lingering smell of burning and residual heat remained after the accident. The few remaining red sparks descended slowly toward the ground.

Fear dissipated, leaving behind only relief as Lumina felt the shadows deepen, attempting to comfort her as she gasped for air, her face deadly pale after she used so much of her magic energy.

"I executed everything correctly." She quickly replayed the events in her mind, confirming the flawless execution from the intonation to the minutest movements of her hand.

For a moment, her light had been flawless and perfect, surpassing that of all the students around her. But then...

'The light went berserk. I undeniably possess a great affinity for it, but something intervened, hijacking and turning it against me.' She felt as if she had narrowly escaped a tremendous danger.

'I should avoid spells related to light, at least until I can resolve this.' It infuriated her to no end that something was obstructing and preventing her from using the power that should rightfully be hers.

'They stripped my father of the power of light, and now even from me...'

Finally, she looked around the classroom.

All eyes were fixated on her once more, including the shocked gaze of the short professor.

Clearing his throat, the half-goblin spoke, "Ahem, Miss Morningstar, care to explain what just occurred? How did a simple charm go so awry that it resembled the Fiendfyre curse?"

'Fiendfyre? It does seem fitting...'

Lumina remained silent, her mind racing as she searched for an explanation. The fiery tempest, the blinding light, and the enveloping shadows—it was far more than a mere failed spell, especially for such a basic charm.

She couldn't openly admit that her father was likely the devil and that light held animosity towards her. The silence in the room weighed heavily upon her, the expectant gazes pressuring her to respond.

"Um, I believe... I might have an allergic reaction to light-affiliated charms..." She wasn't even sure if such a condition existed, but she needed a swift excuse. 'Even if it sounds absurd, I can attribute it to my limited knowledge.'
