After returning home, Margaret went straight to her bedroom and took out some hidden experimental equipment, extracting the bodily fluids remaining on her coat and the flesh and skin flakes from under her nails.
After categorizing and storing these materials, she breathed a sigh of relief and went to the bathroom to bathe and clean herself.
Although whatever Douglas had left inside her had long been consumed by the "devil," she still felt uncomfortable, her back itching, her skin breaking out in dense goosebumps. It was nauseating.
Ironically, Douglas rejected her as his not-so-chaste fiancée, and she, in turn, abhorred any physical contact between them.
Margaret had always been a discerning person. When she withdrew her love and expectations from him, all that was left was cold malice and disgust.
