Chapter 146

She ran towards Ellie to help her get back onto her feet.

I was about to walk into the room Alaric flew into when I suddenly felt a hand around my waist. Then a force was applied which pushed me backwards. I crashed into the railings with my back.

I was in the air moving downwards, trying to get away from Alaric before we hit the ground, but it appears that it was too late after we both crashed into the ground, which made a loud sound and a lot of cracks on the ground, and we both groaned loudly.

I gave him a hard kick which took him backwards. I was short of breath. I had to get out of the smoke. Even though the smoke was not going to kill me, I could still get choked, so I had to move out of the area as fast as possible since I did not have a mask on. I staggered to my feet to walk out of the house.

On getting out, I came to a stop when I saw Lora and Ellie standing across the street, so I ran towards them in order to check on Ellie if she was okay.

I came to a halt when I got to their front. "How is she feeling now?" I asked Lora.

"She is feeling better now," Lora replied.

I got to notice that Jack and Josh were not around. Maybe they had gone to a safe zone in order for them to hide her in there for a while till they are sure it’s safe outside.

"Where are the rest?" I asked. She meant to have been in touch with them already.

"I don’t know, but I have been trying to reach them, but it is not going through," Lora replied.

I heard a voice from the right shouting my name. The voice sounded very familiar. It sounded exactly like Lydia's voice. We all looked in the direction where the voice was coming from. It turned out to be the person I was expecting it to be, Lydia. I guess she was coming out of the woods.

We all walked towards her; she probably knew where the rest were. I could hear everyone breathing heavily, with our hearts panting heavily. We stopped walking when we got to Lydia.

"Lydia, have you seen Jackson and Josh?" Lora asked.

I wondered what was wrong with her; she could barely talk because of the way she was breathing. She was breathing uncontrollably, like she had just finished a marathon.

"Calm down, try to control your breathing," I said while I moved closer to assist her. She immediately calmed down. She stammered,

"They need you …..guys…… help," she said, stammering. Then she exhaled loudly.

I looked at Lora and Ellie, who seemed to be fit already. "I think we need to get there fast," I said.

"What about Lydia?" Ellie asked.

"Don't worry about her," I said, then helped her climb up on my back. "Lydia, hang on to me," I said, then helped her climb up on my back. "Okay, and please take your hands off my ass," I apologized, then adjusted my hands.

"Here we go!" I said, exclaiming. Then I dashed off with my supernatural speed, following Jackson and Josh's scent. I was moving so fast that Lora and Ellie couldn’t even catch up with me. Even though it was an emergency, I still had to run through the woods with style, jumping over falling trees like I was participating in hurdles.
